This week:

Rock the Casbah: Pumpkin seeds, walnuts and dates. I've never really been a big date guy (insert online dating thread joke here), but they worked well with the walnuts. The pumpkin seeds were just kinda there to add some additional chewing to it. Good, but the walnuts and dates really "made" it.
Fiery Seeds: Repeat, but a tasty one. Digging the chili seasoning on them.
Hot Cross Yum: Orange Raisins, sponge pieces, and cinnamon honey almonds. The almonds are the best part, the sponge pieces the worst, but this one brings a smile to my face.
Black Pepper Cashews: Black pepper cashews, roasted cashews and redskin peanuts. This was good. The right amount of pepper, a good mix of nuts (were there really 2 types of cashews or did I typo there?). I'd definitely eat it again.

New week, new box.

Little Figgy Went to Market: Apples, cranberries, diced figs dusted with rice flour. If anything I thought cranberries in this were a bit of the "odd man out", the apples overpowered the figs (but in a good way, like eating an apple fig newton). In fact, if the cranberries were replaced by something with a soft bready texture and taste this would be an apple newton. Good, not great.
Jalapeno Fiesta: YES PLEASE. Jalapeno peanuts, roasted seeds and salsa almonds. Solid repeat.
Coco Paradise: YES THE FUCK PLEASE. MILK CHOCOLATE, COCONUT, AND CRANBERRIES FTW!
Black Pepper Pistachios: Aside from having to crack each pistachio these are good. They were better this time, seemed like more peppery, which was nice.

This week's box.

All good.

The Cheese Board: Cheese cashews, salsa corn sticks and herb crackers. All good in my book.
Fruity Mango Chutney: With black pepper dippers. I was actually craving a "My Thai" but this will work almost as well. Think I'll go with it today.
Fruit and Seed Flapjack: Nuff said!
White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake: White chocolate, raspberry cranberries and hazelnuts. Good stuff.

The mango chutney is superb, but the dippers are like eating sticks made from 100% pepper. Way to strong for me and I like pepper.

The dippers are pretty peppery. I usually have my snack with my afternoon tea though, so I wash it away pretty easily. But this time (and last time with the pistachios) I definitely got a good dose of pepper.

Funny thing - I've never been a chutney person, but after eating this I'm totally not like "afraid" to try other chutneys.

This week's unboxing.

Nori Crackers: Japanese rice crackers with nori seaweed. A new one for me.
Scandinavian Forest: Lingonberries, blueberries, cherry raisins, and apple
Smoky Gazpacho Dip: Solid repeat. Going to go with this first.
Cookies and Cream: Mini cookies, white chocolate, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds.

So, I'm seriously considering ordering another subscription to graze.com for my "son" who totally legitimately lives at my address as far as anyone knows. His name would be ... er, IS Flapjack. He only likes flapjacks so obviously I'd have to trash everything but the flapjacks and just get myself a box of 4 flapjacks every other week. I wish he was more open-minded but kids these days...

Anybody already blazed this trail and done this for their "son"?

I wound up dropping out. Prices went up slightly and it seems like the quality is starting to drop a bit. Not a good combination going forward - I think they're having trouble keeping up with the demand, despite their efforts to control it by gradually increasing the numbers of subscribers.

My credit card which I was using expired and I haven't renewed.

I liked the concept but the portions were tiny considering the price and there was no way to order more of the items I liked - I was also wholly unimpressed by the last few boxes, I didn't start on this system to get microwave popcorn delivered to me thanks all the same.

Yeah - the popcorn was a bit of a "eh" although I haven't tried it yet. Don't have a microwave at work and I eat these at work, so it was a bit of a mismatch.

I'm still doing it but pondering canceling not because I'm not enjoying the things or the cost but because they don't fit properly in my mailbox and have repeatedly jammed it.

Last week I had 2 waiting for me (apparently one got delayed in delivery or something) which made it all but impossible to get out, I had to go get box cutters and slash them open.

I'm thankful I haven't received the popcorn. I've avoided popcorn since I broke a tooth that finally drove me to the dentist...as it is, I'm having issues eating some of these thanks to my recent dental work.

Finally gave in and gave this a try, I've very picky about food so there were many things I marked as trash as I just knew I wasn't going to like them. Got my first box today and here's what I got:

1. Hot Cross Yum-ate this one first. Not a big almond fan, but the cinnamon and honey coating on the almonds might have been the best part of this one for me. Not a big raisin fan either, but wanted to try some of their "fruit infused" ones-these were orange infused and weren't bad at all. Last thing was sponge pieces-which tasted like hard cake frosting or icing to me a bit which I guess is what they were trying for with it being a "Hot cross buns" theme, and were my least liked of the box.

2. Scrumptious Blueberry Swirl-will try that one next and expect to like it-blueberry yogurt raisins, raspberry infused cranberries and black currants.

3. Nature's immunity Nuts-Not a big mixed nuts fan, so may not like this one much, but wanted to try it. Contains roasted unsalted cashews, brazil nuts and pistachio pieces

4. Olive and Rosemary Bruschetta-Thought I had marked this one Trash, but alas not and I got one. The Tomato breadsticks look gross, the rosemary and garlic cashews could be good (love garlic), and i love regular black olives but not Kalamata ones, so probably will not like croutons in that flavor, but we will see.

Was disappointed not to get flapjacks from your guys rave reviews of them, some chocolate would be nice too...maybe next box. I get what some of you have said about the size portions. I think the problem is when they try to pack more than three things together. Got a good selection of each of the three-itemed Hot cross yums.

I have 4 friend codes now if someone still would like to try this-just PM me to get one.

I canceled a while back but got an email from them asking if I wanted to participate in a focus group type thing in NYC next week. Think they were paying $125. I couldn't make it but my main feedback would have been to stop worrying about providing variety and try to sell people what they actually want on a recurring basis.

Same here. When my card expired I just didn't bother to renew. Had a couple of dud boxes so even though the price wasn't too dear why pay if I'm not always enjoying it. If I could buy what I want, I'd be back in.

By the way in case anyone is interested I'm giving 'NatureBox' a go - its exactly the same concept ... but you can pick what you recieve and also order items specifically, oh and the portions are larger from what I can gather (ie. you get decent sized bags).

Nature Box

PS - They do a referral thing, if you want $10 off then throw me a PM with your email and I'll set you up for it ..

They have repeatedly screwed up my orders, out of 5 boxes, I have received 2. They always try and give me a free box to make up for it and it never shows (So I guess technically its more like I haven't received 6)

Funny thing is I rent from Render and Telle and they receive their boxes all the time, right one time...LOL

I might be interested in trying a different one.

Naturebox expensive though.

$50 for 20 snacks in a month versus $25 for 16.

Let me know if you like it though...I could give it a try...

To be clear I've had 2 boxes not show up as well. Frankly I think our mailman eats them for lunch.

Just had my first box not show up.

Also FYI, for those who were like "why can't I just order flapjacks" - you can now. They've rolled out a program where you can just order a big box of one thing.

Quote:
Our big box contains 5 sharing bags of snacks, equivalent to 20 servings. You can choose exactly which snacks you wish to receive in your big box and you can also control whether you’d like certain snacks to appear in every box or if you are happy to receive a selection from your full list.

Does anyone have experience with Naturebox? My dad wants that as a gift and I didn't know if that or Graze would be better.
