I have a specific field as well, and let's just say it's something I'd never do in real life. That being said, no idea if it will have any impact on the game.

So being a die hard long suffering miserable fan of a team derided and insulted at every turn now earns me Day 1 votes? WTF else can go wrong =) |

Well, going to move my vote off before too much harm comes from it. Like I said my vote was just a statement based on a past game. I'd rather keep Hoops around a bit if I don't have any feelings that he is bad. I'll move my vote to the person who was very happy to quickly jump and vote for Hoops right after me causing a quick second vote for him (which as we know can often get a consolidation movement going between two candidates on day 1)

Not knowing anything about the subject matter for this game, I'm wondering if some of the more informed might have ideas on why we would have majors? What kind of in-game impact do you think would be associated with this? Strictly "flavor"?

Kwhit technically did a pre-check in saying he got his role but before Schmidty officially started the game. Pass, oliegirl and axxon were all around this morning but all said they had not yet received their roles. Lonestargirl doesn't usually show up until evening after work, PurdueBrad I don't remember being in thread yet today but he was definitely around for the pre-game chatter. Chief Rum might not check in at all before the deadline. I never remember which nights he doesn't get here till after 10pm EST, but with today being a short day 1, he'll either get on tonight just before deadline or later after deadline. |

Telle, are you in a hurry to get your vote in? I'm not - I'm confident I'll be around between now and the deadline and I would rather have something to base my call off rather than being near-100% random.
That isn't to suggest anything one way or the other about those who haven't voted yet. It just isn't my style to make my check-in post my voting post, with a notable exception here or there (I'm talking to you, Lathum!) |

I usually like to wait to vote until there's actually a little talk rather than just going totally random. However I leave work around 4 today and have no idea if I'll be able to get back on again before deadline, so I'll probably have to make a decision soon.

Apparently the ladies love my major. Not to mention my little soldier (nudge, nudge).
Which is odd, because it is in the same realm as my real life major. Which the ladies were distinctly apathetic about.

How many wolves do we think we have given 20 players. I'm thinking five. I'm curious how the Arcane Collector and Private Eye factor into the victory conditions. I don't think they count as students and might have their own victory condition.

If the two do have independent victory conditions then I'd think only 4 wolves maybe? Or maybe 4 plus chance at a convertion.

We had four wolves in the Clash of the Titans game that I played in and two players who won if the wolves won. I think that had around 20 players. It also had a different GM though. |

I'm guessing 4 with souped-up wolf powers, 5 if they are more standard.
Hard to judge based off Schmidty's last game, which was a conversion-fest. |

No quick turnaround vote there. Just bad timing of having the screen up for a bit before voting. Saw it was a second vote for him after I voted but figured I would keep it for a while, at least to see what came of it (discussion wise). I was going to vote PB as I have done in most all of my games on day one but figured I would go back to my first ever day one vote with hoops and give PB a break (it looked like he was getting dumped on a bit with people wanting to vote him day one in an earlier discussion). The PB day one vote no longer makes sense to me as he seems to be a much better villager than wolf (from what I have seen at least). |

No, I wish I had though. It's a very cool site. The Cthulhu mythos has been around since the 1920s. Here's more info about the universe this game is set in: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu_mythos I highly recommend reading some books or short stories by H..P Lovecraft (and other writers that use the mythos). They're trippy, freaky, and awesome.

Just a few minutes before I have to leave and I don't think I'll be able to be on before deadline. I don't like that I have 2 votes (or that my buds PB and Clap have 2 votes on them. Sorry, not voting for them on day 1.) and so I'm looking for one of the other 1 vote folks to switch to...

I'm curious as to why you wouldn't vote for them on day 1? its not like personal freindships mean anything in WW, so why limit yourself from voting for 2 of the 3 high vote getters at this point? (you being the third obviously) I find that rather suspicious, granted its probably just personal influence entering into an impersonal arena, but I'd like to hear more as to why you shouldn't go for one of them? |

Hopfully I can get back on before 9, but it will be close.
I was unfair to RendeR and we need to consolidate votes. Automatically excluding voting for people that could help save you is a bad omen. UNVOTE RendeR VOTE mccollins

I'll throw my vote on another guy with a vote to consolidate this a little bit ...
Not voting for one of the three leaders initially because: 1.) Mccollins has been a tough villager in the games I've been a wolf. I'm hoping we're both villagers this time, so I'm not going to help bury the guy now. 2.) PurdueBrad, as has been stated by several others, is perceived as a better villager than wolf. Why run those guys out on Day 1? 3.) Clap seems to get a lot of Day 1 deaths, or at the very least attention. These are all meta-game reasons, but I don't have much in the thread to support a vote on anyone in particular. The vote goes to the guy who quick-hit me with a 2nd vote earlier. I'll put him at 2, which I think is better than introducing a new candidate at this stage. VOTE EAGLEFAN |

I don't see that as much of a consolidation. I think we were fine with 3, and bringing a fourth guy with two votes is actually expanding the list.

Pass, I think it represents a significant consolidation compared to the zero/one folks. I would have consolidated on one of the three candidates if I felt any particular good reason, either in-thread or meta-game, to vote for them.
