See, I've had the chicken and waffles combo and it was just eh, whatever to me. Then again, I've grown to hate Southern cooking.

I do agree with the first part but I'm not so keen on the second part (tho I have more of a fear of it than most people)

So I'm in Atlanta right now with my wife and it's oddly more of a cultural center than I ever thought before planning this trip.

You have:
-historical (MLK Center, Carter Museum)
-cultural (History Center and High Museum of Art that we probably won't make it to)
-scientific (really large aquarium, zoo)
-pop cultural (CNN Center, World of Coke)
-sporting (all 4 sports and Olympic Centennial park)

I have been so pleasantly surprised and definitely recommend it as a tourist destination. The attractions cut across the spectrum so there is probably something for everyone.

(Our days- Sat:Carter/Braves, Sun:MLK/CNN, Mon:Aquarium/Coke, Tues:Other- wife wants to see Margaret Mitchell House while I thought I'd go to the Federal Reserve Museum across the street and then we have to fly home)

"The Happening" was a great idea for a science fiction/horror movie that was executed horribly.

Sorry, been reading the avclub.

Yeah, there's tons to do here. I also recommend Six Flags, if that's your thing.

High Museum has a really cool exhibit now called Allure of the Automobile.

One of the coolest attractions in Atlanta right now is Dialogue in the Dark, where you get to experience what it's like for a blind person. You geta tour guide who is blind and you move through different rooms, having to find your way around and figure out where you are. It's a fascinating experience.

I don't like teenagers. Were they always this bad? We found ourselves surrounded by them at Robin Hood this weekend (my fault for going to a Saturday matinee on a debut weekend, I guess).

The chatting, the cell phones, the constantly moving and getting up, the plopping down between two kids sitting next to each other and sitting on the seat's edge....If doctors has Saturday hours I would have stopped for a vasectomy on the way home.

Have you considered Body Combat? It's fun, fast paced and if someone pisses you off, you'll know how to throw a decent punch and a hell of a kick

Not sure if you can get them (prolly not I'd guess) but we have just started seeing delicious ones in our supermarkets out here in MA from Westminster Cracker Company (I think it's called...don't have it in front of me). They're just like the ones that upscale seafood places use alongside their chowder.

Problem is I have a feeling they're very local, since I think they're a Cape Cod company and you wouldn't be able to find them. But they're much much tastier than just your run-of-the-mill Nabisco ones or whoever makes the bland ones.

Farrah hasn't de-friended me, probably because she's waiting on some pictures. Unfortunately for her (I guess...), I haven't cleaned house in over 5 years.

And that's not a bad thing....you're fun to discuss current events with. We disagree, but you actually put some thought into your arguments.

Plus, I like seeing how happy you are with your life now.

How come nobody here is my Facebook friend? Is it because I use foul language? Listen, if any of you find a baby duck on your Farmville, I'll post a supportive comment like "Damn. You're such a warm soul...findin them baby ducks an' shit"

I'm amazed that even though a "zombie satellite" was all over the national news last week, a thread about it was never made here. The story seemed rife with FOFC interests.

Booked my tickets to England today. I end up getting into London at 7:30 in the morning, but that's a small price to pay to completely avoid going through the Atlanta airport on either trip. The place is the hellhole and of the three times I've been delayed coming back from England, it's been going through Atlanta.

As strange as it may sound, I'm so glad to be going over via Detroit.

Once had a hell day where I took the red-eye from SFO to LHR, getting to London around that same time, 7:30am. Had a meeting in central London from 9:30 to 12:30, then had to head back to the airport to fly to Munich for a 4pm to 6pm meeting. Afterward we headed to a biergarten for the evening festivities. I was a zombie by the end of the night.

To be fair, I hated most of my peers in high school and looking back I was no picnic either. It's just that they have more tools to annoy now than any time previous.

Cell phones on in theaters once the trailers end should result in being kicked out.

As strange as it may sound, I'm so glad to be going over via Detroit.

So, I've got a ton of praise earlier in the thread for Atlanta so I don't want to take a huge crap on that, but, well the airport still sucks.

They need at least one more damn runway and 2 more terminals to make it even close to having enough space. I always make the comparison to O'Hare, which is slightly less busy than it is but when there's no weather (which can be a huge problem), it runs like clockwork. Atlanta has 2 less runways than O'Hare and feels like it has 2/3rds the terminal space but still has more traffic. So you're always waiting in line for a gate when you land, which backs planes up coming into Atlanta and you're always in a line 5~15 deep trying to take off. It's stupid beyond belief.
