It's a catch phrase on FOFC based on jbmagic. Personally it's not my thing but it is used pretty commonly.

I'm fine with the Question haiku and agree that we should then use the Barkeep acrostic. That actually finishes us off unless we want to go through them and edit/tweak.

Gotcha.

Did we ever have a finalized BARKEEP acrostic?

An FOF acrostic:

Just because his grammar is weak
Blessed are the linguistically meek
Maybe we should cut him some slack
Al Davis would rank him at the head of the pack
Go proudly JB, your Raiders look great
I agree many wins will be their fate
Careful though, until after preseason you should wait

I really like that, Marathoner. My only concern is that we might have too many JB jokes.

I can see that point. I'm a little nervous having two Pumpy references.

I thought the same thing after I read over my post.

Maybe we should go with it? I really like that one. It made me chuckle.

I'm fine with going with either. I guess technically we're just using one JB and a catch phrase, rather than specifically both about him.

This is what I have us having so far.

Haiku

Question: what better
Pumpy pics or Daivd's game
Let debate commence

Limerick

Dean Houston was his name
Quarterbacking was his game
They say he was great
And I don't playa hate
But to me he sounds pretty lame

Poem

We may debate movies or politics
We may complain about weather
We may clamor for Pumpy pics
But games are what bring us together

FM, FBCB, BBCF, Second and ten
Acronyms abound on our board
FOF, OOTP, Puresim and Madden
And boxscores to tell us who scored

A game was promised like nothing before
A thread was born that was pure gold
Daivd Winters gave us beer tents and more
But only a few copies of MF were sold

The months roll on and the seasons pass
While Schmidty continues to have a bug up his ass

How does this look to everyone?

Crap. Screwed up the last line of the second stanza in the poem. It should read:

And boxscores that tell us who scored

So for a recap right now:

Acrostic:

Just because his grammar is weak
Blessed are the linguistically meek
Maybe we should cut him some slack
Al Davis would rank him at the head of the pack
Go proudly JB, your Raiders look great
I agree many wins will be their fate
Careful though, until after preseason you should wait

Limerick:

Dean Houston was his name
Quarterbacking was his game
They say he was great
And I don't playa hate
But to me he sounds pretty lame

8-20 line poem with rhyme scheme:

We may debate movies or politics
We may complain about weather
We may clamor for Pumpy pics
But games are what bring us together

FM, FBCB, BBCF, Second and ten
Acronyms abound on our board
FOF, OOTP, Puresim and Madden
And lines of text that tell us who scored

A game was promised like nothing before
A thread was born that was pure gold
Daivd Winters gave us beer tents and more
But only a few copies of MF were sold

The months roll on and the seasons pass
While Schmidty continues to have a bug up his ass

Haiku:

Question: what better
Pumpy pics or Daivd's game
Let debate commence

I like this, too. I like tying in the Dynasty portion of the board. How about "Read the Dynasties to find out who scored"?

I can put it in thread if you want......but verify this before I do:

Team Howard entries: Theme is FOFC

Acrostic:

Good point. Looks like everyone else is doing the same thing. I'm not sure how to fit trout in there, ntn, but if we can find a way in these last 15 minutes I'm game.

I think we want to be careful in the sense that Schmidty DOES usually have a bug up his ass about something, but saying he has a trout up his ass might come off a little more insulting.....
