Google found this when I did a search for one of the area codes:

The 527 Area Code (or Area Code 527) is located in the state of Michigan. Area Code 527 is one of the 269 3-digit telephone area codes in the USA. It covers 0 near the city of Hillsdale.

I was going to vote him for editing a post.. but yeah, he won me over with that, for sure.

Although, to be sure he's being truthful, we need someone else to call the numbers now.

This whole thing is hilarious - Abe is always pretty terrific - but seems to be pretty clearly barking up the wrong tree. I would imagine it's something like what someone said about the movie, where there will be some common mathematic characteristic between numbers that lead to safe doors. Seems that this will mean we will need a few sets of numbers to compare/contrast before we know the best choices are.

I'm somewhat against publicizing our door votes until we can discern what the pattern is, because there's always a chance the wolves figure it out privately first and use our voting patterns to mess with us. It seems pretty unlikely that 2-3 people working in private could beat the entire village, but there are a few players here who I wouldn't put it past, especially if they have useful co-conspirators.

Could be a diversion. He might have purposely picked numbers that work as phone numbers, but their real meaning lies elsewhere.

Hold on, some quick google fu.

381 area code is Texas. It includes Fort Worth and Abilene.

527 is upper Michigan, Grand Rapids and such, on up.

845 is New York State. Just above NYC

There are about, what, 275 areas codes in use? What are the chances that all three random 9 digit numbers would be area codes? It can't be that good.

None of the 10 digit numbers are coming up in google though. If it was meaningful I would expect the whole number to be meaningful. I mean what is significant about those three areas?

My first instinct was it's some kind of map. There are a lot of repeating numbers (8's, 3's 7's) I wonder if those aren't a certain type of room or represent a physical feature of some kind.[/quote]

Seems like a good starting place, except they are 10 digit numbers

I did my own math stuff with the rooms and came up with zilch. I'm going to be voting orange though. No real reason. it's a bogus color, has the largest sum, and is the only room that comes out to a real number when divided by the number of letters in the color.

Anyone find it strange that there are 3 doors and 3 teams? 2 wolf teams and the village? Going into one door might give that team a chance to night kill. just speculating.

Only works if no-one's coy about stating which door they pick though.

This doesn't preclude figuring out how to "crack" the door code (if there is one and it's possible) and will probably go hand-in-hand with it.

I just thought about what I really wanted to say was that keeping track of who is voting for what is fine but trying to figure out who is lying from it is going to be tough because of the vote being unknown unless we know the numbers of how many people voted for each door.

I am perfectly fine with that and I will also vote for the orange door.

NM, I thought that perhaps, the NY area code would extend to Syracuse, which would be the Orange Door, remember? Crazy connection right? It's not though. It's not far enough upstate. Ah well.

Not looking too far into things until tomorrow when we have another set of numbers to compare things against, but my only thought so far is that groups of numbers indicate different properties on the door like the 4 digit class codes in college. Hopefully the doors for tomorrow will share some groupings with doors for today, if not I'll probably leave this idea behind. For today the only grouping of numbers I saw repeated today were 381 and 78 in the green and blue doors.

Also wondering if we have to consider the letters on the doors too.

Going further on that thought, North Texas is the Mean Green, though 381 isn't quite in Denton, but a bit south in the DFW area. Not sure what the last could be though with blue. Grand Valley State is the Lakers, Michigan itself is known for it's blue,

I'm going to let you guys do the muscle work on this, my job makes my brain hurt enough as it is.

Need to go ahead and cast a vote here, there's a good chance I won't be back until after the deadline. I'm going to go ahead and tie it up, if very fast vote tracking is accurate, and that is the sole motivation behind my vote.

Abe you are hilarious. At first I didn't believe him as there's no way Jackal would have us dial random phone numbers, but he continues to sell his story with details (maybe too many details). Whether true or not it's pretty darn funny.

Voting for another candidate I'm tied with as I am not a wolf and I suspect this one is.

No reason to choose between Zinto and CF except that Zinto is higher on teh Jackal's list, so he won;t have to move him up or down.
