I wonder what would happen if we were all tied. Would the elementals draw straws?

Well, I'm here -- I had no idea this game would get started so soon. I still can't quite figure out exactly how this one works, particularly the elementals part. Should we be trying to figure out who they are? Would lynching them be a good thing, a bad thing?
Anyway, only because he voted for me VOTE GRAMMATICUS

I've also wondered if we may have hidden roles in our midst.

I thought Coffee pretty much announced that there were going to be hidden roles, both at the start, and added throughout the game. Not sure what they might be, although it seems that the theme for this game was inspired by Robert Jordan's books. |

UNVOTE SCHMIDTY.
I refuse to be the reason someone is lynched on day 1.

Very quiet here today - not giving me much to work with. Not that Day 1 is known for all kinds of rich information most of the time ...
Lets see what happens when we turn the heat up a little bit on a player I really have no feel for one way or the other: VOTE DACMAN |

So, is this pretty typical for a day 1? Could someone fill me in on the pros and cons of the first day lynch?

ya it's usually pretty quiet. In my mind you always want to lynch on day 1 (and in this game it doesn't appear that there is an option for us not to, unless we hit an elemental and then he is saved by his power). This helps establish voting paterns for future use. I'm sure someone might disagree with me on this (most likely a bad guy ), but I feel it does help. |

dola -
the trend is that the quiet ones get lynched first too. 1) because they don't come to defends themselves and 2) people see them as not only not helping in the discussion, but hurting it by not participating. then the vote turns to people who are too helpful...like I'm doing for you now....so I'll just keep quiet, but not too quiet for today I think. |

I felt like that yesterday speculating on the elementals, then decided I didn't want them to notice me. Funny about the trend, since that second point seems like a catch-22: There's really nothing to discuss, but if you don't do it you're not participating! But then, that's how I got through college long ago.

Neither do i...i see your quietness quite normal and 99% of the time quite detrimental to the team....sorry, but you are the most useless person in these games from the lsit of players i see. i could be quite wrong, but every time i play with you you are quiet and dont do much but vote(which is all you have done so far again). Dont blame me for your playing style.

If coffee is around, what is the tiebreaker in case someone else votes for me. I will vote for dacman to be safe if i get into a tie situation so as to not die, but for clarification what is the tiebreaker?

Yeesh, had Blade and SnDvls bring up my name on day 1. I guess that is a good rep to have in a WW game??? I am a villager and I haven't picked up on any baddies yet. BTW, I was the first to bring up the goat (demons pick) back in post #106. Thought CW's post was pretty clear to understand myself.
I think we need to narrow our votes a little because we are not going to really learn anything with it spread out this much. VOTE SCHMIDTY

I've been thinking. Dubbs fake empath play last game seems like it could be quite valuable. In a game such as this having an empath around seems possible. I think, therefore, it would behoove us to each make the statement:
"I am not a Demon on day X" where Day X is the current day. In this way if there is an empath he will have reliable statements to go from. I choose am not a Demon since if someone is an elemental that isn't really bad, per se, for the human side. If, however, someone is a demon, well we want them gone. Failure to make such a statement could, in and of itself, be suspicious. So I will start things off: I am not a Demon on Day 1. |

Your asking to get taken if you start doing that...your basically saying please someone repeat what dubb did last game...

My first thought as well. We'll have to remember to be careful if/when something like that happens. Just going off of CW's promise that 'dead people may still have a role' (forget the exact wording), I think this game is going to be very unpredictable. Anyway, I am not a demon on day 1. |

Just remember, day one votes are random until they aren't random That was my first full werewolf game. I had jumped in an earlier one as an alternate and let some of the more experienced players talk me off of hanging a wolf (Jeff) my first time out. And we got owned by BrianD in a fake role ... good times. Last edited by hoopsguy : 12-28-2005 at 07:00 PM. |

I can't even remember my first one. I remember i did a random number generator for my first vote and everyone jumped my case for it. I had never followed the games before, so I didn't know people hated it.

The real problem with using a random number generator is that it provides no insight in future days about the vote. As voting is the main tool we have, having some reason, which can be used in defense or accusation later on is important.
