timmae brings up a good point. I don't see any reason to believe that sleeping in a room constitutes searching it. We're only allowed one search per day so I think these are separate things. So, revised lists...

I haven't gotten anything from Render about my overnight. The first night when I stayed awake he sent me a great little write-up about how much britrock snores But maybe that's only because I stayed awake? Then I later got one about Nane coming in and rummaging through the room.

Did anyone who slept the first night and didn't have any specific disturbances from the outside get a PM about their night experience?

I did not, neither when I slept, or when I stayed awake. Either Brit's snoring is very important to the game, or Render realized writing custom nighttime PMs to every player was a bad idea ;-) (Having run games like that, I am quite certain it's the latter!)

Anybody else having a tough time figuring out strategy for this game? I feel like I'm just wandering around aimlessly checking out rooms waiting for something to happen. And because of the weird rule set, there's not even much dialogue between us all.

Me and my shot glass are having fun! My guess is that a couple of us are having fun, or will be soon. As items are gound there will be more and more involvement. Those os us that have no items, or just a simple shot glass, are left waiting for something to happen. There is always tracking what people do and hypothesizing theories for down time.

So dug through my spreadsheet and found some things of note.

Nane has been quite active, but is the only person who has been and hasn't mentioned their Day 1 search.

Crimson Fox checked in on Day 2, made some jokes, and then completely disappeared.

bhlloy checked in first thing Day 1, said he was busy, came back around 1:30am Day 2, and has since been gone. In my opinion, he does seem to be genuinely busy.

Chief Rum didn't check in until Day 2. In my opinion, this does not seem to be intentional. And once he was contacted he jumped in immediately and got active.

After deadline last night I sent Render a PM for me to search that room after I woke up and then go hang out in the hallway to see what watch the people coming and go. I was told that I found "nothing of interest". Haven't heard anything about the people-watching yet :/

As I had no mechanic for this the following rule will take effect immedately:


Players may ASK another player to allow themselves to be searched.

A player may allow this, whereupon anything they are carrying will be made public.

A player may decline this.

My guess is that for the ease of the moderator, he's decided that we're all in other rooms when anyone else is in the hallway going between rooms. That's why I asked specifically to be in the hallway all day.

not all room searches are public, some are pmed to me, unless specifically told (or obvious situation mandates it) you may not see every movement from room to room.

I'm not suggesting we do it instead of searching. But if we're able to enter multiple rooms during the day, doesn't seem like it would hurt. Why have the mechanic if it can't help?
