While I am on the topic of assistants, its only going to be a matter of time before Mr. Stewart here gets a shot, and he is going to have a real good shot of being good quick if put into the right situation.

He is pretty young to have those ratings, and will be a huge blow to Tuggys staff when he leaves

We have 3 schollys to offer out this year and another interesting thing enters the dynasty

Bob Tuggs Jr enters the recruiting fold From Thomas Jefferson High School. VCU isn't even in his current top 5, so it doesn't look like he wants to play for good ole dad. That may change in a sim or 2, but it should be fun to follow his career now as well

As much as I was hoping for that to happen, the basketball gods just didn't have it in their cards.

Unless something ungodly happens down there at Duke, it looks like Tuggy Jr, will be taking his talents to Penn State to play for Head Coach Quincy Mcgee who is in his 2nd stint as a head coach. He had some success at Oral Roberts earlier on in this career before Baylor came knocking. He spent 6 seasons at Baylor before being fired and jumping from program to program before PSU came calling last year.

Back to VCU

I think we look real nice this year. We start ranked 18th, so that's a decent way to start and a measuring stick for us. We have good mix of just about everything EXCEPT size. We can defend, handle the ball and shoot the hell out of it.

Just no size with this team at all. Let's see how we fare this year.

Tuggs Jr. Still has yet to commit, and VCU has a scholly open..... Will Tuggy bear get back into the sweepsteaks on his son????

Tuggy jr doesn't seem like he wants to really go to PSU since he hasn't signed yet. They have been the only school to offer him a full ride an have done so since the 2nd sim of the recruiting season.

That is interesting to me

Tuggy bear does not even try as other teams tried to sneak back into the game on JR.

In the end he finally does commit to PSU, as I think they will have a heck of a PG on their hands in a few years.

We finish the year at 21-9 and 10-6 in the conf. Its not good enough. Our RPI sits at 46 which makes me think we are close to being on the bubble. I check the bubble watch and they have as us at being in, but not being a lock.

We go 4-6 against top 50 teams and 2-2 vs 52-100.

We win the first round of the conf tourney but get upset in the 2nd round.

Now im nervous.

Selection sunday brings us some bad news. We are in the play in game for the right to be the 13th seed. Another poor showing for Tuggy so far this year

We win the play in game thank goodness and then have Arizona waiting for us.

We pull a crazy crazy ass upset vs Arizona.

That puts us against #5 seed Syracuse. Can we pull another one?

Up next is the #1 seed Florida. Not sure about this one, but didn't think we were gonna be able to get to the sweet 16 either.

We have the caliber of players to play with these guys, its just which team is gonna show up. The underachieving team from the regular season, or the team that has showed up thus far in the big dance.

THE DREAM SEASON CONTINUES!!!!!!!!!!

We did it again. and mount a huge comeback from the half. We were down 42-28 at half...

These kids have no quit

We play the 2nd seeded wis squad. Again if we keep shooting the way our guards are, we could keep going.

Lets see what happens.

I cant even believe this. We did it again.

FINAL 4 HERE COMES TUGGY BEAR and VCU!!!!!

From the play in game to this game against UCLA this has been a fun fun fun ride.

UCLA has a talented talented team. Like wow talented. They have actually redshirted 3 freshman who are green and yellow.....

another neat thing to see is their entire roster is from Cali. No need to go out of their state for guys. I don't even know what their weakness is.

They are ranked 5th in scoring, 2nd in field goal %, 8th in assists, first in steals, 28th in blocks and 33rd on the boards....

To put that in perspective we are 6th in scoring and 2nd in steals, but do not rank in the top 50 in any other category.

Lets see how we do

UCLA goes on to beat Maryland in the title game 76-65.

We very well could have been champs this year. Such a near miss. Tuggy will be thinking about that loss all offseason

Arnaldo Jenkins finishes up his fantastic career being ranked 13th all time in this history books with 501 made 3pt shots. Shot that at a 41% clip.

Also had 2299 points which is 7th all time in the A-10 history books and 2nd all time in the VCU books.

He was ranked 75th coming out of Florida in his class and was first team A-10 his Senior year.

Was apart of the only team that has made a final 4 in the history of VCU

Just a storied career for Jenkins

Jenkins goes undrafted which sucks. Was really hoping he would get picked up.

Our recruiting class is ranked 15th and 3rd in the A-10. We picked up 2 five stars and one 3 star.

Penn State landed the 79th best class this year highlighted by Tuggy Jr. He was their one 3 star kid, and they landed 2 other 2 stars

Well some major major choices are at hand with Bob Tuggs.

He has offers from

100 prestige teams Florida, Michigan State and Villanova

Other Great teams to note- Georgetown (88) and Clemson (89) George Mason (89)

Then Vanderbuilt, Ok State, St Bonnie, Marquette, Georgia, and Arkansas

Every single job that is open above a 60 has been offered to Tuggy with the exception of Stanford (who is at 60 prest) so he is the hot coach of this offseason

If Tuggy is going to leave now might have to be it. Not too many 100 prestige teams out there to begin with let alone 3 offering you their job in te same offseason.

Florida gets cut though because their roster situation is just terrible. Their head coach left them in a mess for the new guy to come in and clean up.

An argument can be made the Michigan State is historically the best program ever, with Nova not that far behind.

MSU has a decent roster and might have a better freshman class especially with those big 7'0 & 6'11 guys in the middle

Still not sure what to do here.

Another factor coming into play here is the fact that Tuggy Jr will be playing at PSU, and Senior would get to see him play first hand twice a year for the next 4 years.

The sad thing in all of this is that I think VCU has the best roster here even without height, which makes this such a tough choice. The Junior class was the number 1 class in the nation.

If Tuggy leaves and they pull down a title would be a giant kick in the pants here

As much as I want to try and like MSU I cant get past the fact that their roster might be the 3rd out of the 3 teams. They have decent freshman but tuggy isn't getting any younger and now isn't the time to do that when their are others out there better.

I do think it would have been a neat storyline to get to see Tuggy Jr 8 times though.

MSU has been cut

In the end as much as Tuggy wants to stay the opportunity to go play with the big boys in the Big East is just to good to pass up. We have been able to bring in good classes everywhere we have been, and I think NOVA gives tuggy the opportunity to bring in top 10 and top 5 classes every year.

Tuggy has a coach take a head job at Wofford and then cans his lead scout.

With a huge budget now, to be able to bring in the best coaches now becomes as nice luxary.

Tuggy just might have assembled the best young coaching staff in the country.

Hobart is level 5 with no experience
Charles is level 8 with no experience
Stewart is level 9 with 4 years under his belt under Tuggy at VCU

Three schoolys to offer up this year

We are ranked #1 with the opening coaches poll this season. VCU is 3rd.

We are freaking stacked this year, which has Tuggy excited. He wants to get back to the final 4 in a bad bad way. He still tastes that loss from last year.

In looking at Penn State's roster, Tuggy Jr shouldn't start, but he will be the first guard of the bench so he should get plenty of PT in his freshman year there.

That might be a real nice play for him to flourish actually with the amount of PT he should be able to get.

Tuggy finishes up his first reg season at Villanova going 24-7 and 12-6 in the big east. That was good for a 2nd place finish behind unranked DePaul.

We win the first round of the conf tourney but lose to Xavier in the 2nd round.

The Ncaa seeds us as an 8th seed in the west region. Man that's tough being ranked 12th in the country.

Tuggy Jr has an ok season. Played in all the teams games however did not get as many mins as I thought he was going to get. Only 9.5 a game. PSU however has the best record they have had 9 years though. They make the NIT as a 6 seed

We easily handle them 101-68 to advance

Cincy upsets VCU 72-63 to knock them out of the west region

Penn state pulls of another upset of #2 seed James Madison in the NIT 73-48. Tuggy Jr had a real nice game with 15 mins played and 4 pts, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

We play #4 seed Kansas and pull of a squeeker 83-81. We truly were very under-seeded in this tourney. None of these wins shocks me. Im still shocked at how low our seed was with the 8 seed.

In the elite 8 we play the 7 seed cincy team who I know can play since they upset VCU.

In looking at their roster though, it would be a shame if we did not advance. A few green guys but they don't look like anything special.

But boy do they play their ass off. Cincy beats us 67-65 in a disappointing game for us.

We shot terrible, and honesty deserved to lose now that I look over the box. Not a lot of teams you are going to beat at this level shooting 37 % from the field, 21% from 3 and 64% from the free throw line. We destroyed them on the boards 48-31 and they had 3 more turnovers than we did. just a poor poor showing from the team today.

Cincy then loses their next game to Richmond 73-67 to end their run

We land the 12th best class in the nation with 1 5 star and two 4 star guys.

Better than what we were doing at VCU, however VCU pulls in the 7th best class in the nation.

AHHHHHH Stewart Dixon leaves and takes a the head job at Coastal Carolina. That is going to be a huge hit. Hopefully there is another guy available out there that can be just as good of a coaching assistant.

Tuggy is able to upgrade himself and is now rated 100, 40, 50, 50

We were unable to land the same caliber of coach as Dixon but bring in some head coaching experience. Gordon Hopkins joins us as he was recently fired by purdue. Tuggy bear can related to that struggle and was more than willing to give Gordan another chance. His record all time is 188-189.

Tuggy Jr should be the starter this year at PSU and look to be a decent point guard. Very good handles.
