Is it too early to find a replacement for Ga Tech?

Are there any other teams that are non-responsive?

I am actually looking forward to seeing the results of this league. Although I don't like WVU's chances, I think we should win a few games.

I think that GATech is the only team that hasn't made a roster move...

Actually, once the draft has happened, you can't drop a league, but I don't know about kicking someone out.

Too bad I didnt see this earlier, would have taken IU. Trent Green, Courtney Roby, Antwaan Randle El...of course I wouldnt have a single RB or TE (I guess I would have a 3rd string guy) but what the hell.

All the players formerly on the Ga Tech roster have been released and are available to be picked up.

Looks like the rosters are more or less in order... won't be a heavy demand for week-to-week managing (at least for most of us) so we're basically ready to go.

Bumping for the first week (almost) results.

Behind Cadillac Williams, Auburn had a great first week, as did a quarterbackless Notre Dame team.

Syracuse gets a win in the opener, mostly due to our kicker.

Stupid kickers.

Domers won on the strength of John Carney (as well as Julius Jones, Arnaz Battle, and Bryant Young)

With McNabb still to play tonight.

I thought I might pull an upset over Georgia, but w/ my lack of a running game and an injured Jerry Porter, it wasn't real close. Still, this should be fun to follow.

On ths strength of John Hall, my Wisconsin team nearly managed to pull the upset of Tennessee, until the Ravens started falling apart 2nd half and Peyton got a couple TD's. Kickers seem to get a little too many points relative to the other players, or maybe most of my RB's/WR's just aren't good.

Yeah, I did well considering my RB are all back-ups and my star WR did nothing.

I hear you. It was bittersweet, since Ward is my favorite player. But, I guess he had a quiet game and the Steelers won big, so all is good. Hopefully he'll go about 8 for 150 and 2 TDs in the rest of the games this year.

Haynes also had a pretty good day with a TD.

There are some battles to be decided tonight.

Georgia Tech can beat Cal with a good game from Dez White.

Virginia Tech can win with a good game from Vick.

Warrick Dunn and McNabb can affect the final outcome of the Syracuse-FSU game.

I'm going to enjoy following this.

Awesome, Georgia Tech pulls out the win despite 0 points from my offense. In fact, I don't even have a kicker or QB on roster.

Don't think I will be that lucky against UGA this week.

Would someone mind posting league results for those of us who aren't in the league, but find it kind of interesting?

Johnson arrested, charged in altercation with girlfriend

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Running back Larry Johnson was arrested Monday night after an altercation with his girlfriend early Saturday morning at a Kansas City bar, the latest in a series of troubles with the law for Kansas City Chiefs players.

Police Department spokesman Darin Snapp said Johnson turned himself in and was cited for domestic abuse assault. Johnson posted bond and was released, with a court date set for Sept. 20 on the misdemeanor charge.

Snapp said the girlfriend came into the bar and saw Johnson with a different woman. The 25-year-old girlfriend, of Overland Park, Kan., saw Johnson and walked the other way, Snapp said, but Johnson text messaged her on her phone and asked her to meet him downstairs.

The running back then grabbed the woman by the arm and pulled her to the front door, Snapp said, where Johnson asked the manager to make her leave. The manager said he couldn't do that.

Snapp said Johnson became irate after his girlfriend confronted his date. The running back grabbed the victim by the shoulders and shoved her, causing her to fall onto the floor, the police report said.

The girlfriend told The Kansas City Star, in a story on its Web site, that the police report was wrong and denied that she was pushed or dragged to the door. Snapp said the woman told police she didn't want Johnson arrested, but instead just wanted the incident documented.

Friends convinced the woman the next day to file a police report after seeing bruises on her arms, Snapp said.

Johnson ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns against the New York Jets the next day.

He is the latest of several Chiefs players who have gotten in trouble with the law either at bars or the result of alcohol.

During training camp, backup quarterback Todd Collins was involved in a melee at a restaurant and bar near River Falls, Wis.

In earlier incidents, kicker Lawrence Tynes was charged with breaking a bouncer's nose in a River Falls bar fight. Defensive tackle Junior Siavii and safety Greg Wesley also were arrested during camp after allegedly getting into a drunken confrontation with police in a Minneapolis hotel.

So, it appears the only game still up for grabs is Tennessee vs. Auburn. We both have 3 players going, but one of those for Auburn is Jason Campbell. He's sort of evened out by Peerless Price on the Tennessee side.

After week 1, I'm in dead last ... with little to no hope in sight as my two offensive "guns" (Boeller & JJ Arrington) are on the pine.

Guess I have to hope for Detha Oneal making 3 picks a game and Tony Gonzalez catching 3TD's a game from here on out.

I've got an outside shot of catching up to Cal if Julius Jones puts up 80 yards and 2 TDs to lead the Domers.

Well, we certainly got lucky to draw Tennessee on an off week for them (with Peyton underperforming, and Jamal Lewis on bye). All told, I really don't think that Syracuse is a top-tier contender... we may not get a single point from our RB position the entire season, so it's basically McNabb and Harrison, plus a decent-enough defensive group.
