I'm at +11 with 4 to go on day 2. I somehow doubt that I'll be able to go only +1 in four holes, but we'll see...

Let's see, +11 means I'm +4 on the day. I predict I will bomb and bogey three of the last 4 to make it +7 on the day

and I'm not sure if Lathrop is an FOFCer now, maybe I'm mistaking him with an hattricker. Anybody know a Lathrop around here?

well, I outdid myself and bogeyed only 2 of the last four to finish at +6 on the day, +13 on the tourney so far. I still think the cut will happen at +12 or better, probably at +11 or +10.

I guess we need to practice a bit more. The nice thing is that practicing requires very little work.

dola,

vtbub also shot a +6 in the US Open earlier today to also end at +13 on his tourney.

you can practice once per 24 hour and no more than 3 times in 6 days. What I found out this morning is that you also can't practice when you are within two hours of playing a round.

dervack, don't despair, we're all hitting the same kind of rounds, injury, no injury, practice, no practice. I guess it will depend on what each of us will practice in the next few weeks before we start seeing differences in our scores...

well, since you can practice only 3 days out of 6, you won't be able to practice while we'll be playing in a tourney, so you might as well enter one. Also, I'm thinking that since this guy seems to have modeled his thing similarly to Hattrick, not playing might have an effect on your form, but I got no proof of that at all...

well, the cut did happen at +12 and that made for a weird leaderboard, as evrybody else ended at +13, except one dude who shot +14. I'd hate to be that dude

Any idea what effect "playing a practice round" has? I paid for an extra night at the hotel and it says I've managed to squeeze in a practice round... but I can't find any explanations to it in the instructions.

well, I've teed off and done the first hole and sure enough, I'm +1 but I can't frigging believe it, look at this:
Quote:
Round:1 Hole: 1 Par: 4
FrogMan chose to hit a DRIVER down the MIDDLE of the fairway and play for the MIDDLE OF THE GREEN with the approach shot.
Shot 1: Tee Shot - Miss Fairway Left To Pin: 114 Yards - In the Medium Rough
Shot 2: Approach - Hit the Green To Pin: 59Feet - On the Green
Shot 3: Putt - Missed Putt To Pin:5Feet - On the Green
Shot 4: Putt - Missed Putt To Pin:4Feet - On the Green
Shot 5: Putt - Holed Putt To Pin: In the Hole

I made sure to practice my putting this week, now up to formidable (9) and yet, I still do the fucking stupid "putt one foot long while your 5 feet away" thing... sheesh, I'm worse than I thought or that was one very bad downward slope and I putt 9 feet long

Pumpy is done with the first round and played a +5, an improvement over all of us one week ago. Grats Pumpy

As for me, I'm +2 after 7 and yep I did the bad putt routine again:
Quote:
Round:1 Hole: 5 Par: 3
FrogMan chose to play for the MIDDLE OF THE GREEN with the approach shot.
Shot 1: Approach - Missed Green Back To Pin: 17 Yards - In the Rough
Shot 2: Chip Shot - On the green To Pin:5Feet - On the Green
Shot 3: Putt - Missed Putt To Pin:4Feet - On the Green
Shot 4: Putt - Holed Putt To Pin: In the Hole

sigh...

BREAKING NEWS: it's being reported that all golfers have gone on strike. They say they will not train more than once a week from now on. They hope that their performance will increase with this new regimen.

and I keep missing those 9 to 11 feet long putt. Just saw another bogey where I was 11 feet to pin on my 4th shot only to see 6 feet to pin on the next shot. HOW CAN YOU MISS SO BADLY??? I mean, knowing it was a 11 feet long distance, either I putt it forward only 5 feet or I went 16 feet long...

AHA!!! I knew my whining and bitching would pay off at one point or another:
Quote:
Round:1 Hole: 11 Par: 5
Shot 1: Tee Shot - Hit Fairway To Pin: 333Yards - On the Fairway
Shot 2: Lay Up - Hit Fairway To Pin: 94Yards - On the Fairway
Shot 3: Approach - Hit the Green To Pin: 27Feet - On the Green
Shot 4: Putt - Holed Putt To Pin: In the Hole

27 feet for the birdie and back down to +3 after 11
