Yeah, Texas usually doesn't offer scholarships to guys who are projected backup players on other teams, especially ones projected to be 2rd string.

I'm still trying to figure out just where 2rd falls on the depth chart.

Here's Tennessee fumbling the ball earlier tonight. Correctly ruled a fumble on the field. Replay overturned it.

Keep in mind, they have to have INDISPUTABLE EVIDENCE that this DIDN'T happen to overturn it.

Fucking baffling.

Wyoming beats Air Force 25-17 in Colorado Springs to go 6-3, but they'll need another FBS win to become bowl eligible for the 2nd time in 3 years.

Nope, we aim for Heisman Trophy winning running backs. Not ones that their own coaches miss and don't start.

I think I'd rather see an Oregon/LSU rematch than a Bama/LSU one.

(if OSU were to lose of course)

Oregon's D has been relentless. I'd like to see Luck lead a comeback, but I don't see it happening.

Meh. Not really hyped about either. Oregon's offense is so much about executing rather than scheme that they're at a disadvantage in bowl games and openers. (OSU, Boise, Auburn, LSU)

Word out of Mizzou is that Henry Josey tore his ACL, MCL and PCL. Just sick. He's been a great story and a blast to watch play. I really hope he makes it back, but with that recovery it wouldn't surprise me if he redshirts next year -- recovering from all three could easily take 12-18 months.

Just horrible. He was the fourth leading rusher in the NCAA this year, and he had more than 60 fewer carries than the guys in front of him. Was averaging a ridiculous 8.6 yards per carry, and was well on his way to breaking the Mizzou season rushing record.

The glimmer of hope -- it's very similar to the knee injury Jeremy Maclin suffered in July 2006 when he tore his ACL and two other tendons in his knee -- and 13 months later he was an all-world player as a redshirt freshman.

Other glimmer of hope -- the orthopedic surgeon working on Josey is the same guy who did Maclin's surgery.

Augh. I tore all three in a hockey accident in high school. Absolutely horrible / devastating injury. Wow, that is just awful.

Stanford is really just an above average team with a really good QB. I think Oregon exposed them for that tonight, and no way were they worthy of a top-5 ranking.

Really, the same could be said about Boise State as well. This year's team is not as good as last years and the defense appears to have taken a step back. Disappointing to lose like this (another missed field goal).

Ah well, I now have no reason to defend BSU in any NC debates! And, I can devote more attention to my Wolverines, just wish Robinson would stop turning it over so damn much.

I think I had assumed Oregon would win from pretty much day one. Stanford is a nice story with Luck, but there isn't enough there to think they can hang with the elite teams. Stanford and been label as a slower team although big and physical and that's going to get you killed against the big boys.

I think the Rose Bowl committee is going to start praying and fasting for Wisconsin to win the Big Ten because I can't imagine under any circumstance they want PSU, or MSU showing up against Oregon.

With the loss, Stanford, or maybe the OU/OSU loser might be taking on 'Bama in the Sugar unless 'Bama works its way in to a rematch.

Wow. Missed an exciting night of college football it seems.
Boise and Stanford go down.

Really shocked by the Stanford result. I thought it being in Stanford would slow Oregon down and I thought Stanford could force them into throwing the ball. I guess Oregon is just going to run it down teams throats no matter who they play.

If Arkansas beats LSU, who wins the SEC West (assuming Alabama/Arkansas/LSU each have one loss)?

I am kind of hoping that Oklahoma State and LSU just win out, at this point. I don't want to see LSU play Oregon or Alabama again.

Someone explain to me how Oklahoma is ranked higher than any 1 loss teams right now. They lost, at home, to a bottom level Big 12 team. None of the other top 10 teams has a loss that bad on their schedule.

Stupid fucking "eye test" strikes again, I guess.

I'm thinking it's the last tie breaker being who is higher in the BCS standings.

It helps that they went on the road and beat KSU 58-17 and then beat A&M 41-25. OU did drop down 8 after that loss. Granted Wisconsin dropped 8 after getting beat by MSU on a hail Mary pass while on the road. If I compare them to the 1 loss teams out there, I think they would do rather well. Only Oregon is a question mark and that will get fixed when the next BCS standings comes out.

I think it's BCS standings with a caveat if two of them are within 5 of each other and ahead of the 3rd by 5+, it goes back to head to head between the first two.

Voters are almost giving them a pass on Texas Tech. I'm not sure if they should, of course, as Oklahoma's one loss is easily the worst. But out of their 8 wins, 7 of the teams are .500 or better, Kansas being the only exception.

I see a lot of people complain about Oklahoma's one loss being so terrible so they shouldn't be ranked ahead of Arkansas whose one loss isn't so bad. I keep having to remind them that more games were played than that one. The entire season's resume is what counts, not just the losses.

If Oregon, Alabama and OU all end up with one loss, assuming LSU is undefeated, it'll be an interesting scenario. OU will get a huge boost in the computers and voters' minds if they beat #2-ranked OSU on the road, only further enhancing their strength of schedule. Then, there will be the whole aspect of the rematch vs. no rematch.

Who knows... It may all sort itself out (Arkansas is indeed a wild card), but I certainly won't complain if OU doesn't make it. They have some nice wins. That loss to Texas Tech is just looking unexplainable, though.

The computers love the Big XII this year. Sagarin has 5-5 Texas A&M and Missouri 10th and 11th.

....or are they getting a SEC boost already?

Unofficially speaking...

Tostitos Fiesta - Oklahoma vs. BCS

Allstate Sugar – ‘Bama vs. BCS

Discover Orange – BCS vs. Clemson/VT

Allstate BCS National Championship Game LSU vs. OSU

Big East winner can go anywhere. Houston has to go somewhere as well. I just looked up on ESPN and they have bowl projections up and not the usual what teams from a conference go where and skipping on official match ups.

Yeah, Boise State is probably done. If they don't win the MWC, they can't get the BCS at-large bid (even if they're still ahead of Houston). Southern Miss may still give Houston a game though.
