CGL Season 3 Championship Game - Winnipeg @ Montreal

Montreal started the season looking like a team of destiny before faltering late in the year. Winnipeg finally found the consistent offence that had eluded them in the 2 seasons prior. It set the stage for an epic matchup in the championship game and both teams showed why they deserved to be in it in a game that went back and forth multiple times.

In the end, it was Montreal's defence that found a way - Winnipeg had the ball and a promising drive in crunch time, but LB Thurman Leonhardt stepped up and made a key stop as he did all season to help Montreal run out the clock.

Montreal finally gets over the hump and wins their first CGL championship!

Finished up the season 3 off-season, which is by far the hardest task...and hopefully my last time doing it totally manually.

Just like season 2 put a document together for development summary and draft.

The big stories were:
-Tony Klassen, tired of losing in Calgary, opts for free agency. He's picked up by Saskatoon who will move to a more balanced conventional attack offensively.
-Jabari MacDowell leaving Halifax to form an absolute murderers row of a D-line in Regina
-Alice Hibbs leaves Montreal to chase another ring - but finds less interest than expected and moves to Ottawa
-Edmonton got lucky with the 6th overall pick and found the perfect weapon to pair with Zaire Willis.

Saskatoon had a terrific off-season to hopefully build off a solid season last year. OL Sam Smith evolved into the best player in the league and they picked up FA QB Tony Klassen after he bolted from Calgary. Part of the negotiation process was to give Klassen unprecedented control over the offence as Saskatoon abandoned their deception run offence in favour of a more balanced attack.

Halifax had a more mixed off-season, losing a pair of stars in RB Malachi Wilson and DL Jamari MacDowell. They likely didn't do enough to replace them and rumours of continuing locker room discord continue to swirl around the team.

Solid first outing for the Storm as Klassen looks very comfortable in the new uniform.
