I'm praying my 1 bar of Verizon LTE holds up for the next 2 hours.

Can't get it on the 80" TV in the conference room, someone is having a meeting there.

I'm pushing for 0-0 as long as possible. If we score early and make it 1-0, Germany could push hard like we did against Portugal. If Germany scores 1-0, we could start to press and leave openings for them.

Hey look it's Ghana-style "unable to keep possession USA" so far. That doesn't bode well.

Twellman "USA have to find a way to keep possession."
**Cue overly ambitious bad pass by Gonzalez and a giveaway.

You can't make this shit up.

Yeah, so far it's been clinical possession by Germany. Not sure we can hold up for 90 minutes against that.

Is it too early to take the ball in the opposing corner and just hold it?

Oh, I agree. It's still a good decision on the lineup. Cameron was awful.

To Twellman's point though - Brad Davis hasn't tracked back at all and Beasley is getting killed by Boateng.

I like his actual analysis - good insight for non-fans.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that FIFA disciplined Suarez so harshly.

I didn't realize FIFA had control over club soccer.

In a sort of roundabout, non-direct way.

Bradley looks to be playing a much more defensive role today and, not surprising, he seems to be more comfortable out there.

Is it talent or ability or strategy that allows Germany to pass the ball around in our zone while we cant do it in theirs?

It's aggravating to see the US keep trying the "high level of difficulty" pass instead of the easy back/side pass to keep possession.

talent/ability/awareness.

better first touches to control the ball in tight space and weight the passes right. better awareness of where to be/which pass to make.

11 on 12 literally for the US, as the ref wipes out Beckerman on a run (neither were looking, and Beckerman gets krumped)

Patience is the big factor. They are content to keep possession with low risk passes. After about 4 passes, we seem to want to make the perfect through ball. I think we need to have this guy as an assistant...

Need more passes to Beckerman. He's limited, but he recognizes his limits and doesn't try to make crazy high-risk passes.

Heady play by Gonzalez - smart yellow card. Just can't do that again

I'm also curious how many World Cups Markus Beasley has played in. I wish they'd tell us

If we were some normal soccer nation, Michael Bradley would be receiving death threats at this point.

They are not being careless and focusing more on possession (which is always a dubious claim for the US), but both teams are trying to create chances. Seems like just a smart gameplan by both teams so far.

Germany is playing how they should. If they can get goals they will take them but they aren't going to kill themselves trying to get one. USA is playing pretty much how they have the whole time.

It's killing me to watch Bradley. Just a horrible cup that continues to not improve.

Jermaine Jones needs to play smart this half. We can not afford him to get a yellow card and miss the next match.

If it is still tied after 60-70 minutes, and Ghana hasn't gone on a goal spree, I see both teams calling it in.

So much for Bradley being comfortable, he's been super sloppy for most of this game.
