From my googling, what I found was that apparently they're coached to not move when the defense goes early in order to remove all doubt from an offside call. In this instance, though, the ball was snapped early so no one's offside. He is so well coached that he doesn't move even when it's pretty obvious that he should.

I heard the same thing. It's so ridiculous. I mean, what does that really do? Try to make a point that the defense was offside? If nobody throws a flag, all you're doing is setting up your quarterback to be killed. It looks to me that they're just trying to show up the officials, and that can't end well.

I don't follow FSU well enough to know if this right tackle is very good or not, but I wouldn't trust any lineman who's willing to hang his QB out to dry just to prove a point. That move (or lack of a move) is worthy of a benching for the rest of the game, not that FSU had a shot at winning that game anyway.

It can also confuse the defense and make them stop playing full speed resulting a positive play for the offense on what is essentially a free play.
