Long night out. Discovered my favorite bar has closed

Ended up playing pool next door and regretting not talking to the uber hottie who played darts with us. Yes, I'm a pathetic piece of shit...

Well, went out to downtown SJ with some friends tonight. Had a pint of Newcastle, 3 jager shots, and a Budweiser...had to bow out of a jaunt to the pool hall...gotta work tomorrow...oh well. I'll finish myself off with a whiskey or two.

Went to a pizza joint (Mangia Pizza for you Austinites) and had some good pizza and a bottle of Shiner Bock. Went to the liquor store and bought some Tito's Vodka... I'm good to go!

Pinnacle vodka for me. Just downed 2 to catch up, but already had a beer.

Does anyone like Steel Reserve lager? Here, it only comes in singles at 24oz. At 8.1% alcohol it has a sweet taste and gets you started quite well!

I don't think so. While I love my grandparents, it's the aunt that drives me up a fucking wall. We see eye to eye on nothing. Wish she was here right now so I could tell her off ... j/k

it's not even that we're NE liberals and they're Texas conservatives.

It's things along the lines of the lecture I just had to listen to from my grandfather (who has displaced me from my room to an airbed for a week btw): "by your age I had served 3 years in WWII, gotten married...bought a house...had a couple kids, and started working with IBM where I was for 19 years. And you're still living here...don't you ever think about moving out or anything? You're 27, you have a lot of catching up to do." "Do you ever do anything with friends? Why do you stay up until 2am? You're not getting enough sleep." blah blah blah. rinse and repeat.

fuck him.

I hear you, I get similiar shit from my parents every fucking day.

But the grandparents generation earned the right to bitch at anyone they want. "The war on terror" has nothing in any previous war.

But at the same time, buying a house and raising some kids at 26 in the 50's was a hella lot easier than it is today.

I guess just deal with it. They roughed it more than we'll ever have too. In a week it will be over

Hey! So I know Daddy Torgo and Dodgerchick, but have not spoken for a time. Have a friend in town and have been drinking. Northeast gal, but my man has lived in Dallas. Sorry Dodgerchick, it is not possible that you had good pizza, just like it is not possible that I had good pizza in Cincinnati.

true. Which is why I just suck it up and deal with it. It just...pisses me off. It's like...next time they say something I'm going to fire back with "Sorry I'm such a dissapointment and such a big failure compared to what you accomplished in your life, but at least I'm happy with where I'm at alright? So buzz off."

But I'm sure that even if I did meet that person, I'd manage to mess it up, one way or another. So I guess it's better this way then hurting someone I care about that much, in some twisted way.

As lame as posting song lyrics on a message board is, I feel this song is awesome for how I seem to feel when I'm in the state required for posting in this thread (download this song for full effect....depressed scottish band arab strap..the song is called 'the shy retirer')

another bloated disco, another sniff of romance i'll forget
we promised to ourselves before we came out we'd do something we regret
these people are your friends
this cunted circus never ends
i won't remember anything you say

i lost my social skills a while ago but no i feel them coming back
my eyes were rolling when we met and now they are preparing for attack
i want to fall in love tonight and form the perfect unbreakable bond
you can be my teenage jenny agutter, swimming naked in a pond
you know i'm always moanin'
but you jumpstart my seratonin
but how'd you know you've ever really loved?

but when i feel like this, i know it doesn't matter
if i eat when i'm not hungry i can feel my face get fatter
then i thin out every weekend and i think that she might want me
but i always slip off my own 'cause...

i let those feelings haunt me, they control me, but tonight i'm letting go
you're more then just a photo album, you're more than what some people let you know
and if we ever make it home, i'll tell you all the things that shaped me thus;
something forged in a phonebox but lost in a restaurant we've got so much to discuss
here, have you tried the blue ones?
i hear he's got some new ones
sleep is not an option tonight

look at us just stand and stare
look at them just pose and pout
and we'll all be standing here
until the pigs chuck us out
