Wow. What a strike. Howard did well to save the first one, but there was no stopping the rebound.

We need to slow down and not act all frantic to tie it. Slow and steady, US!

On the goal, and elsewhere through the tournament, we've seen a number of occasions where the Americans simply lack sufficient spacing and spatial awareness, or, more simply put, most simply aren't used to playing at the mental speed with which the Germans can play.

And until more Americans play in top leagues, this isn't going to change.

Feel like i'm going to puke.

A Ghana goal OR a Germany goal would knock us into 3rd place right now.

No, Ghana needs two goals.

Well crap. They need two goals to pass in GD, but they would have one more goal than the US.

100% agree. And that's why I dislike seeing guys come home to the domestic league when they're in their prime.

Ghana needs to get a 3 net GD to win. so, they need to win 3-1 and us 0-1 or 2-1 and us 0-2.

U.S. need to stop trying to play the aggression game against a team as wily as the Germans, or they're going to end up with 10 players.

Here's the tiebreakers per fifa

1. Greatest number of points obtained in all group matches.

2. Goal difference in all group matches.

3. Greatest number of goals scored in all group matches.

4. Greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the teams concerned.

5. Goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams concerned.

6. Greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams concerned.

7. Drawing of lots by the FIFA Organizing Committee.

So if Ghana score again and the US does not, they will beat us on goals scored.

Yeah, guess we need to really pull for Portugal now. I thought 4 was before 3 in that list.

We're hanging on for dear life. Not a lot if intention to the physical play style. It's necessary, not optional.

The good news is that IF we score but lose 2-1, Ghana would need 2 goals.

You can be aggressive and still be smart about it. Look at any Jose Mourinho team chasing a lead, for instance.

Ronaldo with a dive in the box. No penalty. I swear these guys blow scoring opportunities just to try to draw a foul.

We are worse than our opposition. Trust me when I say our teams is playing as controlled as they can.

Dumb by Jermaine Jones there. He was slowing up to avoid Bedoya, but made no effort to brace himself for impact.

Crazy thing is portugal game is more important now. Germany can score a few more and it really doesn't matter unless the US scores which seems highly unlikely.
