Maybe it's like the pop thing - they've made a decision to put their efforts into dog food because they know dogs are more popular than cats!

Really? The boxes I have seen are mostly red. Not regular Coke red, but a mix of red and black similar to what the cans look like.

You know how actors and athletes have agents that help them pick their next roles and manage other parts of their career. Yeah, I could use someone like that right now.

OnlyFans is banning most adult content. Because they looked at Yahoo buying Tumblr for 1.1 Billion, banning adult content, and losing 99% of its value before selling it, and saying "I WANT ME SOME OF THAT!" Our country's reaction to consensual sexual contact is so schizophrenic.

Wait? OnlyFans has non-adult content? I just assumed it was all adult content, considering the context I've seen the site referenced on Reddit

From a Bloomberg aticle on the changes:
This is just the most recent step in OnlyFans' long road away from nudity and toward something more SFW. While the platform is famous for lewd content, there are also fitness instructors, dancers, and artists who use the platform to post content, connect with fans, and get paid. The platform has been working to attract investors and make more money in the SFW scene, creating a kind of YouTube-Cameo hybrid, a place for celebrities and athletes to connect with fans, according to Bloomberg. My interpretation In other words "We want to throw away the best part of $400 million a year (their 20% cut of the folks on OF earn yearly) in our cut because venture capital can't or won't give us massive stock bonuses by investing if we are seen as a hub for porn.

Seems like the news is putting another human interest story into its rotation (along with surprise military parent comes home, autistic child reveres UPS driver, old person makes friends with young child): preschooler gets MENSA card.
AMAZING! THERE ARE YOUNG KIDS WITH HIGH IQs! Well no shit. Whaddya think, people are assigned IQs at 21?

Does Farmers Only dot com still exist, or did they just run out of money for TV ads? Or do they now target audiences on channels I don't watch?

We live in Jersey, the best pizza in the world ( fight me), but when we have lived in other places we have had to settle for the Dominoes of the world. My wife would under no circumstances ever do LC pizza. When I was much younger and lived in Texas I literally lived off $5 hot and ready, so I loved it. Prior to moving when she would travel for work I would take my kids to get it and we would call it "the forbiden pizza" because we only got it when mom was away. |

Hungry Howie's was the go-to in college in Florida for me. And they gave out $3.99 coupons like candy back then, even for delivery, so we'd have about as cheap a meal as possible between 4-6 of us. I haven't seen a Hungry Howie's in forever.

In college one year, me and my roommates bought a pack of Papa John's coupons from some fundraiser.
And the coupons had actual value. They were discounts beyond the normal promotional levels. It really paid off, though, because we went the entire year without them ever collecting the coupons. We'd call and say we had the coupon and what it was for. They'd then deliver the pizza at that price. And they never took the coupons. |

Our Papa John's -- they seemed new back then -- had a deal of four one-topping pizzas for $20. For a group of four people (how most housing setups were), this was a fantastic deal.
Now I never much look at Papa John's, the prices just seem out of whack. I'll go for the 5.99 2-topping mediums at Dominos, thanks.

This just caused me to have a disturbing thought.
Domino's is no lower than the third-worst pizza around me. And there's a fair chance they aren't in the bottom three. Considering how bad I think they are, that's really kind of alarming.

Dominos is bad (why has everything been dusted in cornmeal?) but Papa John's is offensive. Why is the sauce AND the crust so sweet? How much of this pizza is corn syrup?

We have an abundance of good pizza here so Dominos is never really an option. But I can tolerate their thin crust if I dump a bunch of red pepper on it. Their buffalo chicken sandwich is not half bad either (we don't have a lot of good options for that stuff here).
Their standard pizza feels like someone dumped a bottle of garlic salt on it. |

When was the last time everybody had Dominos? I used to hold the same opinion of them, but in the last couple years we've gotten them a lot and I've quite enjoyed them. Medium with garlic parm sauce, shredded provolone (topping in addition to the moz), and roasted red peppers? That's damn good, yo.
I agree that their sandwiches and chicken are still basically crap. But their pizza is a lot better. I'd take it over Hut these days except for Stuffed Crust.

Dominos is now my favorite of the chain pizzas. I'm in the same boat as Cuervo - we never used to even consider ordering it, it had been YEARS since I had Dominos. But then they actually did the "OH NO THEY DIN'T" thing that they plastered ads on TV with, and it was true.
And it's probably an un-PC thing to say, but Papa Johns has gone downhill since they drove Papa John out and brought in Shaq. It's inedible now. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but it was passable a couple of years ago and we don't order it anymore. Last time we did, it's because I had a free pizza and wanted to use up the points. We have 2 great local places we will get pizza from, but Dominos is next and then LC every now and then when it's on the way and we're in a hurry.

I guess I left out the Hut, but our local franchise closed down 2 years ago and the closest is 15 miles away, so we've never tried delivery pizza from the next county over. So it's like the Hut doesn't exist anymore.

I quite like Mod Pizza. I've checked their website and they're fairly nationwide so I guess I'm not being overly parochial. They have a jalapeno and spicy chicken option that stings both on the way in and the way out.
Other than that Papa Johns is, and always has been, crap. |

I live a couple miles from every place listed in that article (and a block away from one of them) and I will say that Portland's pizza game has exploded in the past 5-10 years, along with the rest of its food culture. There's a half dozen places in my orbit that make really good Detroit-style pizza. I can get 'traditional' grandma pies, Sicilian anchovie & breadcrumb, white pies all over the city. You can't throw a rock without hitting artisanal, coal/wood-fired, apizza whatever (my least favorite style).
10 years ago it was literally all that weird super thick/puffy/gummy crust that NW folks would happily label 'New York Style'. Ignoring the whole idea of ranking the city at other cities expense, I am just happy to have much better pizza much more available to me personally.

We have really been getting into Mellow Mushroom recently. A place opened on the corner that is supposed to be "authentic New York style pizza". If that is what New York pizza taste like, they can keep it. I have a feeling that it is not "authentic" though.
