I haven't tried prison architect for a while. It seemed like I never had enough time to accomplish the tasks that I needed as the prisoners rolled in. I didn't see an "execute all the prisoners to make room for the new ones" option so it went downhill quickly.

Having a hard time waiting until the holiday sale for this one. As popular as it has been it has to be there if I can just wait a little bit longer.

Good question, I haven't played it. Perhaps MizzouRah could give us some better info.

Ok, let's take the office.

1. It has to be indoors.
2. It needs to be surrounded by walls and a door.
3. It needs an office desk, chair and filing cabinet.
4. It needs power.
5. It must be at least 4x4 in space. 8x3 won't work. 6x5 will.
6. It must be designated as an office (this is probably the step you forgot). Go into the "Rooms" button, click "office, left click and hold the office space.

Now if that doesn't work, post a screenie and we'll see what's going on.

RE: prison architect
The mistake I made designating rooms was not dragging the across the whole room to designate it an office or whatever.

Purchased the game. Had an error at the end of the first season. Some things never change. Including getting suckered by DDS

I tried a game last night but honestly my biggest impression of it is that it has a VERY slow start to it. This leaves me wanting to try other games before I really dig into it, so I'm kind of Lukewarm about it at best right now. The learning curve is about what you'd expect for a Space 4x game.

I think a better comparison would be Master of Orion than Civ but I haven't played enough yet to make a fair comparison.

The room at the top with the two desks and the two filing cabinets is 3x4, not 4x4. There's also no chair in it.

This is what you want:

Sorry, I changed my scenario and I had to make an execution facility and a holding cell. The offices were in a premade intro scenario

Democracy 3 is good for an hour or two until you figure out which policies work and which don't. It's worth a couple bucks at max.

Think it's on sale for $5 or so, so I imagine that's probably a pretty sweet spot.

Bought way more than I expected. Lots of good sales on 30-4 dollar games.

Endless Legend
Stick of Truth
Banner Saga
Shadow of Mordor
Diablo 3 Expansion

All for under 20 each.

You can stop the influx of new prisoners at any time.

I haven't played in a while, but is there a way to build another room over part of another structure without pulling down all connecting walls? That was one of my pet peeves.

I couldn't resist getting Endless Legend either at 50%. I also got Dungeon of the Endless, which after about 3-4 hours or so is friggin' awesome.

Also, got DDS PB 4 too and get errors too and have emailed Gary.

I just want the CB to PB connection to work 100% of the time with no issues.

Having just picked this up, I figured out you can build foundations next to an existing structure (without highlighting over the existing one), and it'll be smart and connect without blowing up walls.

My biggest problem is the fact that like 10 seconds after my prisoners arrive, I lost one to a drug OD...without any real understanding or ability to do much about it.

Sometimes that happens. You can (and should) begin a rehab program in your medical ward to get your prisoners back on the straight and narrow, but things like that happen.

Bumpage, both end this week. There are a whopping 3 entries for both so your odds are pretty damn good. EF is giving away the freaking Far Cry Pack, 1-3 plus DLC's.

What are you trading? If the game is already attached to your Steam account, it can't be traded.

Sorry guys. I'm thinking of setting up giveaways more manually so there isn't a restriction. I'd start a thread over on the Steam Boards and people who want to get in just reply with (1) or (2) and so on until everyone gets registered. Then just pulling a random number and getting that person the game.

Is this too much work or a better alternative to using Steam Gifts?

Didn't realize there were restrictions on there. Thought the only restriction was being a member of the FOFC group.

I think you have to have a catalog game value of at least $100 to be able to join.

Hey, I'll do it where I damn well please.

Besides I'm a little bit biased and I'd like to drive a little more participation over there.

Yes - I like it.

I binged on it like...two weekends ago.

Need to go back to it now that I feel like I learned some hard lessons though. It's...emotionally sapping. Or it can be if you let yourself "connect" with the survivors.

Which is good.

I think that's how it's meant to be played. I suppose you could play it as a "game" and just speed thru stuff and focus on the resource gathering and crafting and do whatever, but it's much more impactful if you sit there and agonize over "if I go to this location and there's someone there am I willing to kill them to get the antibiotics I need to heal my sick person, or should I trade wood for that and risk being cold? Or do I only have enough backpack space to pickup food for myself and not medicine for the other person in my shelter?"

It's pretty intense.

Yeah This War of Mine is a pretty sensational game that forces you to not do what you normally would in games like this... First time through you will probably attack the first person that comes after you, but when you see the psychological impact it has on your character... well... it forces you to go the sneaky route. Alas, who knew that beating a priest to death with your bare hands would be so traumatic for someone.

I've only played it a couple of hours over the weekend, and I haven't made it beyond day 15/16 when either resources, wounds, or mental health haven't basically rendered my party unplayable. Haven't been at a point where I can craft much of use.

It's all going to be relative to the price of the gems at this point. Math alone will dictate how many gems you are willing to buy and spend bidding on games. There are still 3 days left to buy this first round of games and with only the winning bidder out, the prices are going to stay very high as the auction goes on.

I think my entire inventory would net me like 700 gems. At this point my cards have more value than the gem worth.

I agree. I sold all my emoticons and background and netted 500 gems. Looking at early bids we are 10,000 plus. I think selling gems for cash will probably be the better otpion.

Sadly, I no longer fear these. There is just... nothing left for me to buy really. I may pick up one or two things on a whim, but I pretty much have more than I need.

I hope I am proven wrong.

Actually, I found with the Fall sale that there were a number of things I'm probably going to end up with this sale. More than I figured I would this time last year.
