Good deal if you're looking for a pimped PS3 for Xmas. You can get the 3D display package for $299 and can add a 160 GB PS3 for $100 more. $400 for all that is a pretty good price.

Anything is possible, but it would surprise me. Skyrim's sales just don't necessitate a sale at this point. I would guess the price won't come down until sometime in the Spring.

Agreed. If there is a sale it will be somewhere like Amazon or Walmart dropping the price, anywhere like Steam or GamersGate where Bethesda sets the price likely won't see a sale anytime soon. It's still one of the top sellers at $59.99, they'll probably try and milk that as long as they can. |

I can't see a big reduction in the Steam sale, but other retailers might drop the price. A couple of weeks ago a UK retailer started selling Skyrim at half price despite it being near the top of the sales charts. |

Give it time, the servers are updating with the deals, and apparently under a huge load. First time I checked at 1:10 PM, I got an internal server error...

Metro 2033 for $4.99?
Hmmm... I might just get this. First, I need to check that I don't already own it.

I sent a text to my 18 year old son this afternoon.
>"Orcs must die $3.74 on steam" <"Yeah I'd rather get dungeon defenders though" >"It'll probably be back on sale soon with the holiday sale" <"Yeah hopefully" That means: "The times they are a changing." in the video game world.

That 2K pack is tempting but I have a few items on the pack. If I could give away a couple items from there I may go for it but I don't see it specifically mentioned that you can send games from the pack that you already own to someone. In the past I thought that was specifically mentioned if it were allowed for a pack.

Dear Steam: you suck balls.
Why? Because you're trying to make me sign in again after I JUST SIGNED IN and telling me that, no, that login/password duo is incorrect. Here's a hint, motherfuckers, if you let me sign in with that combo into the Steam client, then YES. IT. IS. CORRECT. Go DIAF, Steam. At least until you get your shit together. |

Network issues I can handle. The server errors I referenced earlier? Okay, network errors. I can live with that. Insisting I log in if I'm using the web portal? Okay, I can handle that. There's probably a protocol issue somewhere that's refusing the handshake. Logging me in, showing me that I'm logged in and giving me access to things like friends lists that materially demonstrate that and then tell me I have to log in to see something I click on? That's just DIAF territory, sorry. |

I have never had any luck signing in and staying signed in via the web portal. I've switched to always using the Steam front-end to browse the games. Agreed that sucks.

My first gift was Empire Total War, which I already own. So I'll be looking to trade it.
Second gift was 50% off Valve game coupon. Can't use it until after Jan 2nd.

Damn. It turns out that I must have bought Metro 2033 during some earlier sale. Like about 90% of the games I've bought during these sales I've never intalled it. In fact, I forgot I even owned it. Well, tomorrow, tomorrow, there's always tomorrow, it's only a day away.

I was having some weird issues the other day. I knew something was wrong because my son and I were both logged in to the account at the same time. Meanwhile, I was getting cloud sync errors and that's when I realized I was logged in but not connected. Restarted steam and I was all good.

I went with the Mumbo Jumbo and PopCap packages. Was looking for more casual games. Got 54 games for $80 and I hadn't bought any of the games previously. Other one I'm looking at is the Sega package. I do have a few of those Empire games, so it depends on if I can gift them or not.

If you've never played any rougelikes but have been interested in them at all then Dungeons of Dredmor is a great play to start, it's by far the most accessible one I've seen. And if you're not interested in them, here's a take from the RPS article I linked. Quote:
