If, arguendo, Chief is Umbrella, then we know the exact allegiance of everyone remaining:

I thought of it, but was hoping that Umbrella wouldn't.

After little discussion, it was decided that Chief Rum would be executed today because he HAD to be a zombie (no, really).
Chief Rum was led out to the center of the town square, blindfolded as if he knew what was going to happen. The exectuioner stepped back to his mark and fired... BANG BANG BANG! Chief Rum looked down at his chest and laughed "HA HA! Did you think that would actually take care of me???" Unbeknownst to him, teh last remaining member of Umbrella snuck up behind Chief Rum while he was gloating and stuck a syringe in his neck. Cheif Rum seemed to get woozy and dropped to the ground. The exectuioner moved up and emptied every shotgun shell he had into Cheif Rum's head, blowing it completely off! The remaining members of S.T.A.R.S.: Mr Wednesday, hoopsguy, and spleen1015 seeing the last zombie put out of his misery quickly arrested BrianD. BrianD explained that they (Umbrella) had released the W Virus into a couple of people's water supply about a week ago to test their results and that it was clearly a glowing success!!! The S.T.A.R.S. members, disgusted with Umbrella's nefarious plot club BrianD in the head knocking him out cold before hauling him away to jail. They then started a thourough search of the Umbrella compound... yet they couldn't find an antidote. What they did find, was several large containers that were hooked into the city's drinking water supply. The containers were not marked but they WERE EMPTY!!! S.T.A.R.S. Wins!!! (or did they?) Good game everyone.
My MVP of the game goes to Fouts. He revealed at the right time. Without that reveal, I don't think we would have won. I'm glad this game didn't go 13 days like my last one! |

So public apologies to Cronin. I honestly had no clue what he was, good or bad. I just was trying to be a bit crazy and get responses out of people. For a while, I actually thought Fouts was the Police Chief, and was trying to push attacks on him to keep him from being a night target. I realized at some point along the way that he wasn't the PC and that there was no PC in the game.
I don't regret putting heat on Hoops or Fouts, as I felt it kept them around a while longer then they would have otherwise. I also had no clue about Lathum when I was attacking him. Nice job on getting him day 2, I didn't move to him since I was just blowing hot air. It was day 4, when I pushed everyone to Glen when I started putting the pieces together. Path was not a suprise either. I had problems figuring out the last Zombie. I thought it was Dodgerchick, when I died the only role I really couldn't put a thumb on was Chief. I thought Chief did a real nice job. Anyways, sorry I got you killed Cronin. Was just gambling on a 43% chance that you were bad. Guess this is why I don't go to vegas |

I must be bad luck for whatever team I'm a part of. Every team I've been on has lost Being part of umbrella was an experience and I kept asking for guidance since I came aboard and thanks to Sndvls and BrianD for being patient with me. I was a little hesitant posting at times afraid of saying the wrong thing, but in the end, being UTR didn't work. Oh well, live... err, in my case, die and learn.

Yeah, I was actually not blowing smoke about that. The last three I tried to rule out as PC were Fouts, Ntndeacon and Anxiety.. and at that point I realized that there really was no PC.. It was like a slap across the face since I didn't think of that possibility when I was figuring up a strategy for the game. |

I know we were freaked out about the police chief after Lathum was lynched, because it would have been obvious that Rum and I were zombies. Thanks for making us stress out for nothin', Chubby!
Congrats to stars. Once you and Umbrella started working together it made it very hard for us to hide.

Even so, I think the turning point was me nailing path with my shot. Chief Rum was not one of the alternatives, so if I'd not guessed right, there would have been one fewer STARS, another fewer STARS or Umbrella, and one more zombie.

Good job STARS. Well played by hoops, Mr. W and Chief Rum.
I wonder what would have happened if I weren't vaccinated. I'm still trying to figure out Umbrella's strategy toward the end. I understand trying to disguise their members, but I think all of you coming out voting for someone other than SnDvls might have pushed a STARS member over. You seemed to have Chief Rum on your side, too. While I like the timing of my reveal, I could have made some better choices at who to scan. My theory was to scan people who would be around toward the end of the game. The big posters and those under the microscope would be lynched or eaten. It worked to some extent. My scan of Mr. W and Brian could have been better. Luckily, there was only one zombie, so no real threat. Nice job with the reveal, Chief Rum. You kept the heat off of you for a couple days with that. Great last minute switch to Glen by hoops, and nice shot by Mr. W. All those played a big part in the endgame. Great game Chubby. Very interesting and suspenseful. |

Thanks spleen. For some reason, I have a difficult time reading you. I would have lynched you over Glen, even though I didn't feel like any of the candidates were zombies (SnDvls, LSG, spleen), which was the reason I came out when I did. You are still undefeated!! |

The cooperation between Umbrella and STARS was fitful. I certainly didn't expect that Chief's reveal was totally fake (I had figured him for the conversion, that he was telling the truth about his original role), and I give Brian, DC, and SnDvls credit for playing along to try to swing the game around to the 1-1-1 endgame.

And lest I seem parsimonious with my credit... mad props to Fouts and hoops for making it through the endgame, hoops especially for flipping the lynch vote from spleen to Glengoyne.

Good job to STARS, and especially to hoops, Fouts and MrW, who pretty much saved their side. Although all three did many things to aid their side, the standout moves for them, IMO, was hoops moving the vote from spleen to Glen, Fouts' reveal, and MrW's shot on path. Without those moves (maybe even without just one of those moves), I think it's even chances I and my zombie cohorts might have pulled it off.
I would love to hear more about what was going on in the Umbrella camp, because they had me confused with their moves. When I "revealed", I did so knowing Umbrella would quickly figure out I was the only zombie, and that they couldn't afford to say anything against me (at least not like "Chief Rum is the last zombie", I mean). But I thought that would unify them more in going along with me, at least until we got STARS' numbers down. That never happened, though. I got very lucky with my kills, getting good rolls. In fact, we succeeded on every night action except for the infection attempt on Fouts. As path said, we thought we were doomed if the PC could communicate what he or she knew (not knowing there was no such role) after the Lathum vote. Since we voted for Lathum at critical points (first vote, execution vote), and the PC would know who was in STARS, he would be able to guess we were both zombies. Trying to find the chief drove our early kill choices. We were also terribly unlucky to participate in lynching the creator of the Nemesis. After Day Three, I was able to make some estimated guesses on everyone's allegiance and was pretty much dead on (of course, I had the advantage of knowing who the zombies were). Unfortunately, I didn't finish that analysis until after Night Three's actions had been executed. Leading up to that, we had thought Fouts was Umbrella, and our choice for him to be the infection victim was based on the idea of getting someone who was PMing with a bunch of other players in the game. We would know for sure exactly what allegiance everyone was, and what roles for everyone in Umbrella. Alas, Fouts was not Umbrella, but STARS, and he was vaccinated anyway. I was disappointed to see that my analysis--after the fact--placed Fouts pretty solidly as STARS. Had I completed it faster, we likely would have gone after BrianD instead, I think. hoops made a key decision on Night Four, choosing to not protect Fouts. We were counting on that (him protecting Fouts), so we didn't go after Fouts that night. The next night, when I was then alone and had Fouts as IA and MrW as sniper, I couldn't afford to go after Fouts because I was certain hoops would protect him (and he did). So I killed LSG instead, since I couldn't see why they would bother to protect her. spleen, you will be my Day One vote in the next game. We just have to kill you.

I was glad to have some heat on me from Alan, as I thought it kept the zombies off my back. I could have sworn he was the Umbrella leader though. Great summation, Chief. I thought you did a good job staying alive and creating suspicion. Unfortunate for you that Umbrella didn't play along. |

Don't worry, DC, things will click for you sooner or later. It's just a bad run for you (just like spleen surviving to this point is a tremendous and strange good run). I know you got in on Umbrella late, but any insight into what was going on in the group discussions in and around those last days? For instance, what were you guys making of my reveal? And did you have some sort of strategy you were trying to follow in the final days?

Chief, I thought for sure your reveal would do me in. Before you revealed, I felt all it would take was someone coming out claiming I was zombie and that would be it.
I was totally wrong about Dodgerchick. Fouts' reveal got the game going down the right path. Mr. W taking out pth was a hug step in the right direction. I had so many things playing against me, I'm surprised I lasted the final 3 days. Props to hoops on his switch to Glen. |

Nice game all. I'm off to work shortly, but in a couple of hours when I get back to my PC, I'll give you a rundown of the Umbrella strategy. Chief, I knew exactly what you were doing and why, and I'll tell you why I didn't think it would work.
The problem of us working together was that STARS already knew who everyone was. That made any end-game strategy tough. It was also tough that none of the STARS were around in the evening close to lynch time. There was no way we could get you worrying about your votes. Longer write-up coming in a few hours. |

There were a couple of times in this game - Glen lynch and Spleen suggestions after that - where I basically tried to figure out what people were trying to get me to do and why, then went the opposite. That type of thinking does not always work and has led to some very challenging days when I'm wrong (I spoke out loudly for wolf Digamma in a Peregrine game, to give one example) but worked well this time.
It was especially hard to do this game because I wanted to lynch Spleen both for his play this game and for the heat he put on me last game Couple that with wanting to KILL Alan after Day 3 results and I felt like I was continuously going against what I wanted to do in this game. |

Brian, agreed about not being around at deadline - don't know if it would have changed things but I'm sure you would have liked the chance.
Scheduling for this week was more challenging for me, personally. But I would have been around last night if I had expected there to be participation. I checked in after Lost, saw an empty room and no posts for the last 75 minutes and figured I could find better things to do. |

Other than being UTR at the start, what about my play made you want to lynch me? |

Voting records, general play style when under pressure ("please don't kill me!!!"), every theory you floated being wrong. And the revenge factor from last game, even if we did convert you and you helped get a Cowboy win.
I think that is about it. But you brought up the biggest warning sign, and the one that made it toughest for me on Day 4. The other stuff was largely after Day 4 and essentially amounted to background noise. |

My voting record this game pretty bad. I guys I chose to follow the wrong folks when voting.
Now, give me some credit, hoops. Not every theory I floated was wrong. I am disappointed I was wrong about Dodgerchick. I should have voted for Chief that day. |

we knew who the last zombie was, but knew we were in end game without them still around so I though up the cut off plan and hopped the zombies would pick up on it and try to run with it as well. CR did, but a little too late if I would have gotten spleen lynched instead of me umbrella would have won as we would have had the numbers and the zombie would have to vote with us. I admit I revealed too soon. I had gotten a PM from Brian & DC to say something (I think I was at 4-5 votes at the time) I had to read 5 pages and as I was getting to page 3 I could see the tide swinging my way. I didn't get a heads up that fouts had already cleared me as not a zombie and the vote was moving back away from me. I said I was zombie then the next page saw fouts reveal. |
