We drafted at 1.1 in year two the studlist of studs at RB who broke some records in the NFL last year and won NFL Off. Player of the Year. In year three at 1.1 we drafted the studlists of WRs and he set the league leading yards last year in 2033 and we have a powerful trifecta

Last year 2033 was the first time that Vance actually played like he should, and was 2nd in yards, 5th in TDs, and 1st in rating. He won league MVP. He didn't even win super Bowl MVP in his win, that went to rookie 7th round boom of the century CB Hutcheson with a pick 6.

Other key things that happened in major ways

Every year after his rookie year DT Jonah Joseph has gotten an All pro

In his first year as a rookie, DE Rieke led my team in sacks. In his second year, he was my first player in the dynasty to net double digit sacks, and he won All Pro, the first to a DE in either place.

We rented SLB Burkley, FS Weber, SS Thomason, C Jackson, FS Liang, and TE Derr and P Petherick during the last few years from the Jets after their deals expired. They all started for me. I just cut Jackson for a top 1.32 stud at OC and let Weber go this past year in FA. Others resigned or left, save for Derr who is now my 3rd TE.

Derr got 998 yards in a season and won All Pro, his first!

Now...

here's my main question...

Do I wanna continue this dynasty?

it feels like a gut punch losing all of the images, deep dives, FA wressling, cap wressling, drafts, rookies, failures, busts, one of my favorite booms as a UFa and loads more.

But I still wanted to play the Dolphins for a while longer, I;m just a few years in...

What do I do?

Wanna see my two best rookies?

TE Wyatt Freeman

He was a stud FB I moved to TE. He has solid blocking as well as good receiving numbers. Welcome to the team!

Next let’s look at OT Kufahl, my other good draft pick

Here you go! This run blocking specialist (I’ve been drafting them to make Fones better) is pretty saucy. He’ll start for the underperforming Greene on my roster after two sad years.

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Vance – 346 of 506, 4441, 33:7, 111.6 rating, 18 sacks

That is a dominant year for Vance! He had the most yards in the league, the best rating by far, and 2nd in TDs. Nasty!

Rushing – GET READY!!!!

RB Fones – 435 for 2062, 4.74 ypc, 15 scores.

Fones’s rushing scores are down from 22 last year, but his yards are up 300 and his ypc rose as well. Nasty! He broke 2000 yards. Good job.

Receiving

Lim’s 109 for 1540 is down 30 grabs and 240 yards from last year but still leads the league. 10 scores! But Fones? His 73 for 664 gave him a ton of yard per scrimmage at around 2700. Nasty!!! He is the weaponiest weapon. Freeman had a solid rookie year as well.

Blocking

OG Limbert – 48 KRB out of 126 KRO, 7 pancakes, 5 sacks allowed
OG Petrovic – 14 starts, 28 of 76, 3 pan, 0 sacks allowed
OT Castaneda – 28 of 60, 2 pan, 4 sacks allowed
OT Kufahl – 27 of 74, 2 and 3
OC Horton, 8 starts, 16 of 43, 1 sack allowed

Good year for my Line!

Special Teams -

K Zill – 34 of 44, 53 of 55

Down year for FGs.

P O’Neal – 83 punts, 44.3 avg, 28 in 20

Not good avgs or % in 20

KR Ackerman – 1 KR RET TD

Not bad!

Defense

Let’s take a look! We had a lot of injuries but Shaw played well and led with tackles. Rieke led my team with a nasty 13.5 sacks. The most? 14.5. Good! That’s a good year for him! His 48 QBKnockowns were 5 more than anyone else in the league. Joseph 8.5 sacks were second and as you can see they devastated teams. Lots of players had a few sacks and our numbers were up across the board.

Pass Coverage

Hutcheon notched 6 picks and 1 INT Ret and 13 pas def, all of which led my team. Palmer was a solid S as well with 5 picks.

Good stuff!

Heart Award – CB Kevin Brennan – Dude reminds me of Alonzo Stone, with his high high INT score. Dude got me 3 picks, and a pick six in there. Good job!

I finish the season, we score an 81

The 2035 NFL Offseason

Retirements

My team?

TE Josiah Derr – Good job! You’ve been on the Jets/Dolphins your whole career. Good luck!

Other Abe’s Boys

DE Norm Stevenson – Remember him? He started years for me.
CB Ben Anderson – I drafted him in the 1st round and he played his whole career for the Jets

Staff Draft

I draft 9th

No one poaches my staff this year.

Here are my players up and eligible for a tag

I tagged MLB Shaw last year but didn’t want to commit financially.

Shaw – could do again

DE Easy Mac Woods
RB Trevor Diaz

That’s it. Only Shaw is eligible

With possible long term drops to my other two starters that I had signed I may wanna make an offer to Shaw. If I franchise him again he won’t like it and he’ll refuse to sign a longer deal. I drafted Hillman last year to spell Shaw after he left his tag.

Right now my cap is 26 open for new players

Who do I have coming off their deal this year. I won’t include future RFAs

QB Groff
SS Shea – starter
CB Brennen
CB Wiley
FL Marshall Collier
SE Franklin, who dropped a step to 45/45 from 52/52
RT Greene
DT Middleton
lB Kaschike
CB Trunsky
CB Hutcheson
WLB Ragonesi
OG Petrovic
DE Ford

That’s a lot of talent!

Here’s what I need:

Backup – RB, TE, DE (See Below), LB, QB
Starter – S for Shea, Maybe DE (Or DT), Maybe Cb for either Hutcheson or Trunsky.

The 2035 NFL FA Period #1 – Part One

I head to the draft to see what I can find. Can I find a S or DE at the top spot? I interview D Line and D Backs.

I sign my RFAs we have 49 players and 19 mill in cap space.

Let’s hit up my starters I may wanna extend beginning with Hutcheson.

What does my 7th round pick wonder want? 109 over 5 mill. Nope! I can try and franchise him next year.

What about Trunsky? 33 mill over three years and his cap hit this year drops 8 mill.Good!

WLB Ragonesi? 30 mill over three years. Not bad. But I wanna see him post camp as I may have drafted a replacement as I get quality at LB easily. And if he drops in ability I can get a cheap price

Petrovic? 34 mill over 3 years. Doable. I hold on for now as I want to keep my cap for the OG that ha been outplaying him

I can extend Preston Fones by two years and drop his cap hit this year from 25 to 20 which I may wanna do I’ll keep it in my mind. That would sign him until his 31 year, and he’s 27 right now.

Collier wants 45 mill for 4 years and that’s a rougher hit than I want for my 2nd WR that’s never really played that well.

DT Middleton wants 38 for 5 years. Not too bad for a 55/55 DT I’ve been starting, but I’ll want until post draft in case I draft his replacement.

I extend…

CB Brennan
DE Ford
LB Kasaichke

That leaves me with 21 for new players

I head to week 2

Shaw wants 79 mill over 4 years. Not happening. Good luck!

Do I want to make an offer for Kirk Barber for 10 mill? No thanks! He’s just 52/52

Marco Garcia is available and wants 17 mill over 2 years and…Norton is still out there and wants 7.5 mill for one year. No thanks!

Part Two

One place to find some cap room is SLB Fuller, one of the best LBs in the league and being paid like it, but he has no All Pros to anything else. If I am going to pay someone like they are playing at an All Pro level then they need to be playing at an All Pro level. Right now he is coming in at 22 mil, and he dropped after his long term injury from 83/83 to 75/75. So I’ll be looking for a possible replacement in the draft as I often am gifted LBs later in the draft in rounds 3-6. I still want to emerge with a D Line or D Back in my first two picks if the talent lines up.

Here are my updated needs given the costs of new budgets attached…

Here’s what I need, updated:

Backup – RB, TE, DE (See Below), LB, QB
Starter – S for Shea, Maybe DE (Or DT), Maybe Cb for Hutcheson, Maybe OG for Petrovic, Maybe LB for Fuller, Maybe a WR for Collier

Alright let’s advance in FA!

Week 3 – Shaw signs with Dallas

Week 4 – Easy Mac Woods signs with SF

Week 7 – RB Diaz signs with LV

The 2035 NFL Draft

Drafting at the top spot is…
Carolina! Which is weird as they won the the 2033 Super Bowl…over us!

Did they trade for it? Yup! From the Chargers.

They grab RB Russell Morrison

I’ll see you in 30!

Welcome to the 1.31 pick.

Who is on my draft list?

DT Bradley Heinz is the BAP. – Very Underrated. Poor bars
ILB Isaac Horn – Next BAP. Okay bars
DE Ernie Ackerman – 3rs best BAP, Hard to Read, run stopping specialist, middle of the road for rushing
DE Kerry Zukauskas – Overrated, better rush bars, 4th best BAP
SLB Isaac Blackburn – 5th best BAP, great bars
CB Corbin Chapin, 6th best BAP, Okay bars save for picks and punishing hitter.
Cb Lester Almanza - More even bars, no play D, hitter, or picks either
Wr Freddie Devine – The best WR on the board.

So who do I like here? Let’s me show you Heinz…

Here he is. His run stopping and strength are good but his pass rush technique isn’t. He is unlikely to be a sackmaster. His play D and hitter also aren’t great either. But…he is very underrated and maybe he’ll wind up as a grower… Do you grab him at the 1.31 spot? He’d replace Middleton a 55/55 DT.

But…

Do I wanna replace 55/55 S Shea instead?

Here’s Chapin. Now all of the CBs I interviewed are off the board, but he’s much better bars. Do I grab him and move him to S?

They both replace a poor starter on my defense, which is pretty key. Which one do you grab?

Or do I go with someone completely different? Like WR Devine or DE Ernie Ackerman? Or Blackburn? Hmmmm…. WR or DE? DE or WR? Let’s do WR as I doubt I am keeping Collier. I grab WR Devine, the 2nd Wr off the board. He’s not amazing, but he should be okay.

See you in 32!

The 2.31 pick arrives. Now what?

I need a good PR after Frohbieter and there is the top RB on the board who is good at it named Marco Vankirk. Let’s grab him! (Ackerman is my KR)

3.31?

Let’s take the top DE on the board, Vernon Walters.

4.31?

Let’s grab the top OG Lenny Cote here, okay? Okay!

5.31? Let’s grab a LB here. How about a guy with bars but wasn’t invited to the combine - Micah Whiting.

6.31 – How about QB Shawn Hilliard? Or CB Neil Whited? I do Whited.

7.31 – TE Javier Evanswhite

Rookie Lookie #1

1.31 – WR Freddie Devine, Texas A&M, 40/59
2.31 – RB Marco VanKirk, Maryland, 41/45
3.31 – DE Vernon Walters, Cal, 24/54
4.31 – OG Lenny Cote, Clemson, 24/47
5.31 – WLB Micah Whiting, Missouri, 21/59
6.31 – CB Neil Whited, Duke, 21/51
7.31 - TE Javier Evenswhite, Virginia, 21/47

Many of these are hopefully growers with solid reds, but we’ll see. This could be a pretty weak draft for me, but we’ll see.

NFL FA Period #2

Alright, now that my draft is done, what am I doing?

I cut SLB Fuller. I’ll run with Tuupo, Hartman and Ragonesi.

I cut 45/45 WR Heath Franklin

Now lets grab some rookie UFAs first

I make offers to…

RCB Ashton Babbitt
SS Dexter Carpenter
Four Qbs

I extend OG Petrovic for 33 mill over 3 years

Week 1 – Fuller signs with Carolina

Week 3 – All of my targets have signed. Let’s head to camp and see what rookies shine before making more roster decisions

Any major UFAs?

None with a 50 or higher pot.

Rookie Lookie #2

1.31 – WR Freddie Devine, Texas A&M, 40/59; 43/58
2.31 – RB Marco VanKirk, Maryland, 41/45; 43/48
3.31 – DE Vernon Walters, Cal, 24/54; 38/55
4.31 – OG Lenny Cote, Clemson, 24/47; 29/48
5.31 – WLB Micah Whiting, Missouri, 21/59; 28/57
6.31 – CB Neil Whited, Duke, 21/51; 42/50
7.31 - TE Javier Evenswhite, Virginia, 21/47; 24/47

Meh

I cut QB Caden Groff.

I make a 78 mill 5 years offer to CB Hutcheson and he signs

Ragonesi, 50 over 4 years is rough to for 60s LB. I am not making him an offer as of this time.

My goal this year is to run these players in the secondary

Staring CB – Hutcheson and Trunsky
Starting at S – Baker and Ackerman
Nickelback – Shea
Dimeback – Brennan

So I’ll let Shea go next year…

Middleton? I sign an extension. Four years, 22 mill. Roughly 5 mill/year. I can cut him if I bring in someone better.

I head to Pre-Season

Are there any players coming up with 2 years left I might wanna extend now?

I have 31 mill in cap space. Who is coming up with 2 years that’s a key starter for me:

QB Vance
RB Fones
S Palmer
C Horton
DT Joseph
DE Rieke

That’s a lot of core players.

Extending them now will typically be cheaper overall but more expensive this year.

What do they want?

QB Vance -199, 5 years – he’s on a 150 mill 5 years right now
RB Fones – 86, 4 years
S Palmer – 48 mill, 4 years, which is an extension of two
C Horton – 62 mill, 5 years
DT Joseph – 91 mill, 4 years
DE Rieke – 58 mill, 4 years

Hmmmm… Do I wanna sign any? Horton is the 4th best OC in the league but I wanna get him better in the KRB #s before I extend him. But Palmer has played well, so I extend him now.

I’m good for the rest.

The 2035 NFL Preseason

I hand out many deactives

Week 2 – Panthers – We lose 13-14

Week 3 – At DC – We win 31-14

Week 4 – At the Bucs – We lose 22-27

Week 5 – Cowboys – We win 30-6

We got 2-2

Rookie Lookie #3

Come on, daddy needs a strike!

1.31 – WR Freddie Devine, Texas A&M, 40/59; 43/58; 45/63
2.31 – RB Marco VanKirk, Maryland, 41/45; 43/48; 32/34
3.31 – DE Vernon Walters, Cal, 24/54; 38/55; 39/53
4.31 – OG Lenny Cote, Clemson, 24/47; 29/48; 31/54
5.31 – WLB Micah Whiting, Missouri, 21/59; 28/57; 29/57
6.31 – CB Neil Whited, Duke, 21/51; 42/50; 43/56
7.31 - TE Javier Evenswhite, Virginia, 21/47; 24/47; 25/53

We had a few booms, we had a few busts. Ah well. Any UFAs boom? Nope! Marco’s PR also dropped to just 56/59

I cut these players –

Three Qbs
SS Dexter Carpenter
CB Vinny Collier
Cb Ashton Babbitt

I am at 53!

Wanna see my top rookie?

Here is Freddie Devine! As you can see he’s really good at big plays and 3rd downs. He’s in the 40s,50s, and 60s everywhere else with no major weaknesses.

Where did the others I was thinking about at 1.31 wind up?

DT Heinz – 46/58 – not bad
CB Chapin – 25/32- Yuck!
DE Ackerman – He’s not even on the page! Wow!
SLB Blackburn – 36/55

Well Heinz was….okay…at the 1.31 spot and Devine was also okay as well, but we may have dodged a bullet there!

Rookie Investigation

At OG, Cote is 7th best

At WR Devine is 2nd best after booming in preseason. The best is 48/75 and was taken 1.16

At CB Neil Whited finished 6th. Not bad for a 6th rounder!

LB Whiting is 9th best among all LBs

Vernon is 11th best among all d line and 5th at DE

FS Palmer is out for a bit and we’ll start Wiley and Shea for him.

Week 14 – At the Giants – We win 23-0. Vance is the Game MVP with 25 of 38, 323, 3:1. He hit for score s TE Freeman twice, and Devine once. Lim was 7 for 111 and Fones 25 for 110. Pick by Brennan. 2 sacks by Rieke.

CB Willey is out. I massage my roster. I move Whited in for him.

Week 15 – At the Bills… - Uh oh? We win 31-6. MVP is DT Jonah Joseph with…2.5 sacks, FF and F rec, Fones was 27 for 125 and 2 scores. Vance was 22 of 34, 197 and 2:0. Lim 9 for 107 and 2 scores.

Coming back from injury is Palmer and Horton.

Heading into week 16, Fones is well ahead of the pack but is a full 400+ yards to 2000, so that’s not likely to happen. Lim is 100 behind the league leader but 2nd place in yards. Vance has already gotten more than 4k yards and is hundreds ahead of the competition. Can we hold our serve?

Week 16 – DC – We win 32-7. Game MVP is Vance with 20 of28, 277, and 1:0. Score to Freeman. Fones was held to 30 of 91 and 2 scores. FF recovered for a score by Joseph, who also had 2.5 sacks. FF by Suzaka. 5 KRB by Horton

Week 17 – Patriots – We lose 21-24. Game MVP is Rieke with 3.5 sacks. Fones was just 17 for 66. Vance 22 of 37 for 220 and 2:1. Scores by Lim, 10 for 97, and Devine. Picks by Ragonesi, Ackerman and Hartman. Jonah Joseph with a FF for a TD. FF by Rieke and Ragonesi. 4 pasdef by Hutcheson.

SLB Ragonesi is out for 5 weeks. I massage my roster.

We finish 13-2-1. We have the top seed in the AFC!

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Vance – 386 of 579, 4576, 31:8, 102.6 rating, 27 sacks

He led the league in passing yards and rating. Good job!

Rushing

RB Fones – 391 for 1727, 4.42 ypc,14 scores

Good year by the lad! He led all RBs by 211 yards. Good job!

Receiving

As you can see, Lim had a solid year with 115 grabs and 1415 yards. He was 2nd in yards in the NFL. In his last year with us Collier almost grabbed 1000 yards for the 1st time in his career. Freeman had a better year than last. Fones was 4th in my rec with 58 of 506 which puts him over 2200 yards from scrimmage. Nasty. Rookie Devine was quiet with little as my 3rd option at the receiving lane.

Blocking

OG Limbert - 41 KRB of 102 KRO, 11 pancakes,4 sacks allowed
OG Petrovic – 34 of 95, 3 and 7 sacks
OT Kuhfahl – 26 of 79, 2 an 8 sacks
OT Castaneda – 22 of 61, 5 sacks
OC Horton – 9 starts, 22 of 60, 2 pancake and 1 sack

Limbert had another All Pro season. Awesome! Dude gets those blocks! Another year where Horton was out for around half. It’s hard to measure him when that happens.

Special Teams

K Zill – 33 of 40, Long of 51, 46 of 52 PAT

I need to start looking for anew K

P O’Neal – 87 punts, 42.4 avg, 39 in 20

That’s a nasty % in the 20 and the 2nd best in the league. I do not need another P

CB Ackerman, 1 KR RET TD

Good job Ackerman!

Defensive

Here you go! Ragonesi led my team in tackles and Hartman was second. Rieke’s 18 sacks were 1st in the league by five. Nasty! DT Joseph’s sacks were the most for a DT, and were tied for 5th most in the league. and were 2nd on my team at 9.5. Both devasted the opposing QB. Rieke led my team in FF at 6, which also led the league.

Pass Coverage

This was a very down year for picks. No one had more than 2. Hutcheson’s 21 pasdef led the league and my team as well. Ragonesi was solid with pasdef and picks and played well here.

I end the season. We score an 80

The 2036 NFL Offseason

Retirements

OG Seth Ellard has retired. Sad.

Other Abe’s Boys

WR Kirk Barber – Our first star WR at the Jets and never played up to his level as the best WR in the league, unlike Lim which is the 2nd best.

DE Sawyer Hill – We drafted him over at the Jets and he played his entire career there.

SLB Bruce Norton – Our stud SLB for the Jets with three All Pros while I was there.

Other Major Retirements

QB Josh Allen – won 4 Super Bowls. That may help us out a lot.

Staff Draft

I hand out raises to Brian Shottenheimer

We draft 10th

No changes to my staff

Players free and not RFAs – WLB Ragonesi, OT Greene, S Shea, WR Collier.

Do I wanna franchise any of them? I have too many big names I have to keep and just 12 mill in cap space after reserving 11 for my rookies

Nope!

Who is coming free at the end of their deal next year that I may need to move on from?

QB Vance
RB Fones
RB Mahoney
WR Bradford
C Norton
P O’Neal
DE Rieke
DE Ford
DT Joseph
DT Lazetti
LB Tuupo
LB Kasischke
CB Brennan
FS Curtis
LS Glen

After signing my RFAs, here is what I’ll need…

Backup – Better QB than Noah Howe, WR – maybe one who can be my PR, OG, OT, LB – See below, 2 CB/S
Starter – Maybe K for Zill, Stud DE/DT, Maybe a stud or starter quality LB

Alright, let’s head to FA!

The 2036 NFL FA Period #1

Part One

We are picking 1.30 so I review the draft. I am looking to target a great DE or DT or a great LB at the end of the 1st who can help push me forward. For example, take DT. Joseph is in his 8th year and is 29 years old. He won’t be my guy forever. Drafting a guy who can start across from him for a few years and then get my money is what I’d love to do. So my preference is a stud DT although I’d do a DE. I need a deep draft for that though.

I interview the top K, the top 5 Dts and some LBs and Des

I sign my RFAs - I have 47 on my roster.

I have 8 mill left.

I extend Fones – 80 mill, 4 years. This drops my cap this year by 8 mill

Vance wants 204 over 5 mill, and I agree. This frees up a few million

RB Mahoney wants 10 mill for three years, which seems reasonable for my 59/59 backup. I hold off

P O’Neal is 16 mill over 4 years and frees up a 1mill done. I also give a 3 year deal to LS Glen.

DE Rieke wants 61 mill over 4 years. Done. That frees up 3 mill

DT Joseph wants 94 mill over 4 years. Yuck. That would increase his cap hit this year by 4 mill. I’ll hold off for now.

OC Horton wants 46 for three years. Which is an increase of 10 mill this year. That’s not that bad for the 4th best C in the league, but I may wanna franchise him next year given his injury proneness. As of right now I have 25 free for new deals so I could extend Horton and Joseph and have 11 left.

What else?

I extend LB Tuupo as he has played well. This is an increase of 500k this year and costs 3 mill a year for 3 years.

DE Ford wants 40 mill over 5 years. That’s unlikely as he is a run blocking specialist and weaker at the sacks. As you can see, in four years I’ve had 10 sacks from him with two years of starts and single team blocking likely due to Joseph and Rieke in the line. I’ll let Ford leave.

I extend WR Bradford for a year as he only wants 5 mill for 2 years and his cap hit right now is 2.6 so that’s minor.

I extend Mahoney while I’m thinking about it, as he is good insurance against Fones breaking.

I extend CB Brannen by a year.

Any 2 year players I may wanna extend? Not right now – maybe post-draft

End of Part One
