West Brom Boss Sammy Lee has told me that he doesn't want us to win the title, because he doesn't like me. He replied that he hopes to put a dent in our title chances by beating us tomorrow.

I reply that "I believe that our team has the talent to win the league. As long as we fight hard every day, we can win. We will be focused tomorrow."

Today we travel to play West Brom. They are currently 13th in the EPL. We are currently 1st. West Brom is led by the play of striker Johan Elmander and left winger Kasper Lorentzen who are driving the offense of this team. Midfielder Rob Davis is also playing well. Michael Chopra is a good compliment at striker for Elmander. Centreback Thomas Gaardsoe has also played well this year. Their keeper, Gary Baker, has been very inconsistent.

We are 4-6 favorites.

It's overcast with temperatures in the mid 30's.

How rude. We drew Aston Villa in the 1st knockout round of the Champions League. I think they are one of the better teams that we could have drawn and I'd rather not face another English Team right off the bat.

Speaking of Aston Villa, we play them now on their pitch in an EPL Match. They are currently in 4th place while we are in 1st. Three of their best players are hurt, Centreback Liam Ridgewell, winger Daniel Bierofka, and striker Luke Moore. Of the remaining players, Keeper Leo Franco will be their most important. Left winger Jermaine Jenas will need to play well too. Midfielder Mourad Meghni has played well this year. Striker Darius Vassell is the best of the healthy strikers on this squad.

We are even odd favorites.

It's sunny with temperatures in the high 30's.

A few stats:

Our 38 goals leads the league. Chelsea is second with 34 goals.

Our 10 goals allowed is second in the league. Chelsea is 1st with only 9 goals allowed.

Our Goal Differential of plus 28 is best in the league. Chelsea is second with plus 25.

Stewart Downing's League Form Average is 9. I'll be glad when he is back.

Wayne Rooney is second in the EPL with an average form of 8.25. He is finally playing well, and I need to get him to not be angry and sign an extension.

Christopher Eagles is third in the league with a 7.92 average form.

Wayne Rooney is tied for 1st in the league with 10 league goals.

Adriano is tied for 7th with 8 league goals.

Alan Smith is 18th with 5 league goals.

Today we are hosting Charlton in an EPL Match. they are currently 18th in the EPL while we are in 1st. Their best midfielder Mohamed Sissoko is hurt. They have a solid defense which they will be relying on. The defense is led by centreback Andy Gibson and left fullback Stephen Warnock. They have returned to using Peter Enckelman in goal and he is doing well lately. Tehir offense is very weak with striker Ross McCormack being the only player doing much scoring, and he only has 4 goals on the year.

EF,

By my count (and I could be wrong) there was a 3-game winless streak in there. Do you think it's just one of those things or is it maybe time to change tactics and mix things up?

I think the amount of success we are having this season validates the tactic, and I'll keep it. However, I think a good left wing is key (I focus passing down the left wing) and my losses (and ties) have mostly occurred during Downing's injury. He will be back in a few days, and I expect the team to perk up when he returns. Also, Duff is back. It was rough having them both out injured.

Personally, having played a whole season with Everton and the beginning of the second, I believe the game is biased towards the left wing for some reason. It seems that invariably the left wing player(if he's any good at all) has a great game, and most attacks occur from that side of the pitch. So, a good left wing is certainly beneficial.

I've been wondering about a left wing bias myself. Certainly Downing has some fantastic attributes and Duff has great speed, but their ratings are so consistently high that it is a little surprising. The only thing that works against that is when I play good players who aren't good left wing material, they haven't had very good form ratings. But, I still wonder if there is a left wing bias.

Post Match Info:

Craig King strained his wrist and will miss about a week.

Wow, I just realized that Chelsea tied against Leicester prior to tonight with a final score of 1-1. Tonight, they tied Arsenal 1-1. As a result, I'm now 5 points ahead of them.

Liverpool is trying to acquire Kasper Lorentzen from West Brom, but West Brom says they aren't going to sell at any price. I hope they hold onto that stance.

I think it's generally accepted that the CM4 engine, like the US media, has a left wing bias. Something (Des?) even made a passing reference to it in a thread in GD not too long ago when discussing ratings (something akin to "a rating of 9 mean they are playing very well or on the left wing"). Gave me a chuckle at the time.

Barry Parker has returned from his loan at Sheffield United. He looks like he improved quite a bit and I hope to use him in the midfield more.

Today we travel to play Birmingham in the 3rd of the English FA Cup. Robin van Persie is playing well at left wing for them. Lucas Neill and Martin Taylor are anchoring the defense. Dmitry Sychev has been their best striker and he leads the team with 11 goals. Their keeper Jose Moreira has been average in the last 5 games.

We are 4-6 favorites.

It's raining and windy with temperatures in the mid 40's.

Rooney's six goals was a new Manchester United record for most goals in one game.

I sang Rooney's praises after the match, telling several reporters, that he has been playing amazingly well over the past few months.

Fans of Manchester United wrote to "The People" in thousands saying that Wayne rooney is lighting the world afire and that they are enjoying every minute of his play.

Mr. Queiroz tells me that Rooney is still angry at not being allowed to move clubs, and still feels he is in poor physical condition.

I wonder what he would do if he felt he was in good condition

Howard and Grygera were both selected to the EPL Team of the Week.

Wayne Rooney rejected a contract offer in which I offered him 190,000/week (the max the board will allow), an 8 million dollar signing bonus, and 12,500 dollar/goal bonus.

Eric Djemba and Souleymane Mamam have been called for African National play.

Today we host the Wolves in an EPL Match. They are 18th while we are in 1st. Their left fullback, Jaco Van Den Heever is having a great year so far. However, the rest of their team is just average at best. Keeper Stuart Taylor is still doing well in the net. Left winger Julian Gray has been a capable assist man. Striker Leandrao has been a good scorer with 10 goals. Darren Carter has played well in the midfield. Andy Campbell has been adequate at right wing. Jay Bothroyd has been marginally effective at striker.

We are 1-2 favorites.

It's sunny with temperatures in the mid 40's.

Barcelona have signed Anthony Le Tallec from Liverpool for 37 million dollars.

Sheffield United have asked to borrow Paul Kelly our young 20 year old midfielder for 3 months. I agree to their proposal.

How long is Rooney signed through? I get a feeling that the off-season may be time to shop him. Looks like he isn't going to re-sign and doesn't look too happy. Better to get something for him then nothing.

Today I was approached by a journalist from the Daily Star:

Most experts believe you should beat Gillingham easily. Do you share this belief?

I replied, "We have the talent to beat them, and I'm confident that IF we play our game, we will beat them."

Today we play Gillingham on their pitch in the 4th round of the FA Cup. Gillingham are currently 11th in the English Championship. Their best striker, Ben Paskowec is hurt. Kyle Swayne is also a good striker. Their keeper Alan Blayney is talented. Darren Ambrose is a good right winger. The rest of their team is not very talented. We should be able to beat them without too much trouble.

We are 1-3 favorites.

It's raining with temperatures in the low 40's.

He is signed til the end of the 2012/2013 season (i.e. the end of next season.) If I can't get him to sign by the summer time, I will reluctantly shop him.
