Week 2: #5 Idaho (1-0) at #47 BYU (0-0)
Newsome throws pick on his first two drives of the game and would have 4 picks for the day, but it didn't matter. Our defense just completely shuts BYU down. BYU can only manage 176 total yards and 8 1st downs. In between all those picks, Newsome threw for over 400 yards and 5 TD's to make this a rout. Code:
QB Newsome 24-39-432-5-4 RB Young 18-59-1, 6-77-0 WR Harmon 5-131-3 WR Greene 4-70-1 ILB Brutley 8 tackles, 1 assist DT Fields 2 tackles, 1 assist, 2.5 sacks DE Brill 2 tackles, 1 assist, 2 sacks *New Mexico State beats Arizona 28-12

Week 5: North Texas (0-3) at #10 Idaho (2-0)
Another week where Newsome throws a pick six and North Texas actually has an early 10-0 lead against us. It's only a 21-17 lead at the half against a pretty terrible North Texas team. We finally put it togethe rin the 2nd half as Newsome throws two more TD passes and the defense comes up with two pick sixes to turn it into a blow out. Code:
QB Newsome 21-34-435-5-2 RB Young 14-88-0, 2-30-0 WR Gotchy 6-156-1 WR Greene 5-125-1 WR Harmon 5-71-1 ILB Brutley 7 tackles, 2 assists CB Hanks 4 tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT, 1 TD CB Grayson 1 INT, 1 TD *New Recruits: G Colin Marshall - #258 Overall, #25 G CB Howard Stokes - #765 Overall, #59 CB *California beats Arizona 61-14

Week 6: #10 Idaho (3-0) at Arkansas State (1-2)
Newsome struggles with accuracy a bit this week and we have to settle for lots of FG's. But that's more than enough because Arkansas State is held to 112 total yards and their only TD was a kickoff return. Code:
QB Newsome 19-42-340-2-1 RB Crangle 13-53-2, 1-11-0 WR Gotchy 6-102-1 WR Greene 5-83-0 K Johnson 5-5 FG's ILB Brutley 7 tackles, 3 assists CB Hanks 7 tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT DE Brill 4 tackles, 1 assist, 2 sacks *In his 5 FG performance, K Irving Johnson goes down with injury and will miss 5 weeks. We also lose backup DT Cary McKenzie for 8 weeks. *Stanford beats Arizona 45-3.

Week 8: #9 Idaho (4-0) at #31 Louisiana-Monroe (4-1)
Somewhere along the way Louisiana-Monroe became a decent team and this was a wild affair. Our defense, which has been so solid all season long, really lets us down here. Monroe's QB throws for 446 yards and 4 TD's. Newsome plays a heroic game, including an 80 yard TD pass with 2 minutes left that gave us a 1 pt lead. The defense can't hold that lead as LA-Monroe drives down the field for the game winning FG. Code:
QB Newsome 20-31-472-5-0 WR Greene 8-168-1 WR Harmon 4-190-2 ILB Brutley 11 tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack *New Recruits: QB Seth Carswell - #35 Overall, #8 QB WR Joseph Fleming - #57 Overall, #5 WR TE Bo Turnbull - #139 Overall, #3 TE DE Mack Cole - #551 Overall, #65 DE DT Adam Quintanilla - #579 Overall, #36 DT *Oregon State beats Arizona 45-0 *Michigan and California currently occupy the top two spots in the BCS rankings.

Week 9: Middle Tennessee State (0-5) at #19 Idaho (4-1)
Disappointed in last week's loss, we take out our frustrations on Middle Tennessee State. It's never close and Newsome watches the 2nd half from the bench after throwing for 300 yards and 4 TD's in the 1st half. Code:
QB Newsome 13-21-314-4-0 WR Greene 7-105-5 WR Harmon 7-188-2 WR Gotchy 3-90-1 CB Foreman 6 tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT S Gibson 3 tackles, 2 assists, 1 INT S Grier 2 tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT, 1 TD *New Recruits: T Spencer Euell - #221 Overall, #21 T S AJ Almon - #505 Overall, #30 S *Arizona gives Washington a good game but still loses 38-31. *Newsome leads the nation in passing yards and is 2nd in QB Rating.

Week 10: #17 Idaho (5-1) at Louisiana-Lafayette (3-4)
We start off with two defensive TD's to take a quick 14-0 lead. Lafayette comes right back to narrow it to one score, but we make it two scores before the half on a Jay Young TD run. Our offense explodes in the 3rd quarter with 35 points and Lafayette has no chance to keep up. Code:
QB Newsome 18-24-282-4-1 RB Young 14-59-1, 2-22-0 WR Greene 7-129-2 WR Gotchy 7-149-1 ILB Brutley 11 tackles, 3 assists, 1 sack OLB Soper 3 tackles, Fumble return for TD CB Foreman 2 tackles, 3 assists, 1 INT CB Austin 2 tackles, 1 assist, 2 INT, 1 TD *New Recruits: OLB Leonard Eyer - #788 Overall, #41 OLB *Oregon beats still winless Arizona 42-10. *Michigan and California still occupy the top two spots. Bowling Green, LSU, FSU, and UTEP are also still undefeated. *We lose our great Redshirt Freshman WR Tyrone Harmon. It is unlikely he will return by the end of the season.

Week 11: New Mexico State (4-4) at #16 Idaho (6-1)
Newsome has another great game as we build a 20-3 halftime lead. New Mexico State could not get closer than two scores for the rest of the game. Code:
QB Newsome 22-30-395-4-0 WR Gotchy 7-133-2 WR Greene 4-79-0 WR Weingrad 2-62-2 ILB Brutley 8 tackles, 2 assists S Isaacson 7 tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT *New Recruits: C Marlon Frederick - # 174 Overall, #8 C WR Bill Flannery - #371 Overall, #27 WR *BCS Update: Michigan (9-0) and Cal (9-0) are still 1 and 2. Bowling Green (9-0) and LSU (9-0) are 3 and 4. FSU (9-0) is way back at 9th. We are 17th. *We likely will not win the conference this year. The only chance is if Louisiana-Monroe loses their last 2 games.

Week 12: #29 Utah State (6-2) at #15 Idaho (7-1)
A surprisingly dominant performance against a Utah State squad that is often capable of giving us fits. It is over by the end of the 1st quarter, when Newsome already had 3 TD passes. Code:
QB Newsome 18-29-263-4-1 RB Crangle 29-152-2, 3-26-0 WR Gotchy 7-99-1 WR Weingrad 5-85-2 WR Greene 4-96-0 TE McGregor 4-53-0 DE Lyon 3 tackles, 2 sacks *New Recruit: DE Mark Beattle - #927 Overall, #86 DE *Injuries are piling up. Once again, Jay Young goes down with a late season injury and will probably not make it back. (Crangle performed terrific replacing him). We also lose starting DE Will Brill. *Louisiana-Monroe actually lost to Louisiana-Lafayette to keep us alive in the Sun Belt race. However, they now face 1-9 Arkansas State. *BCS: Michigan and Cal still have the top 2 spots. We have moved up to 13th.

Week 13: #14 Idaho (8-1) at #25 Troy (7-2)
Newsome has one of those off days and it could seriously hurt his Heisman chances. He throws 4 picks and prevents us from pulling away. Thankfully, the defense and running game were on point and prevented any comeback. Crangle has now been dynamic in two games since replacing the injured Young. Code:
QB Newsome 17-33-243-1-4 RB Crangle 31-210-2, 2-17-0 WR Greene 10-157-0 WR Gotchy 4-58-1 ILB Brutley 12 tackles, 3 assists, 1.5 sacks *Louisiana-Monroe beat Arkansas State to clinch the Sun Belt title. *BCS: Michigan wins to stay #1. Cal was on a bye and remains #2. We are #10. Boise State is #14. (They are ahead of us in the coaches poll, #11 to #12.)

Week 14: #12 Idaho (9-1) at #11 Boise State (9-1)
We may just never beat Boise State. Our defense cannot stop their run game and we find ourselves in a 10 pt hole in the 4th quarter. Newsome leads us on two scoring drives that send the game into OT. Boise is held to a FG on their first possession, but Newsome is picked off to end the game. Code:
QB Newsome 17-33-398-3-2 WR Gotchy 10-236-3 WR Greene 3-102-0 ILB Brutley 14 tackles S Isaacson 5 tackles, 2 assists, 1 INT CB Hanks 5 tackles, 4 assists, 1 INT *New Recruit: CB Devin Leiter - #934 Overall, #74 CB *BCS: Michigan and Cal retain the top two spots. Bowling Green and LSU both play in conference championship games next week that could propel them into the top two.

The Independence Bowl Newsome and Greene dominate a Vandy defense that doesn't know what hit them. Our defense created 5 turnovers as we steadily build a big lead that eventually turns into a big blowout. This is our 5th straight Bowl win. Code:
QB Newsome 26-45-372-6-2 WR Greene 10-180-3 WR Gotchy 3-72-0 ILB Brutley 10 tackles, 3 assists, 1 sack, 1 INT

Our 2007 recruiting class graduated...
Code:
*Connell - Started as a Redshirt Freshman, but backup for the rest of his career because he couldn't develop. Huge disappointment. *Greene - 4 year starter who twice hit 1000 yards receiving and had an amazing senior season where he had 4 catches, 1451 yards, and 16 TD. Was 1st Team All-American as a senior. *Pierce - Started 3 games as a Freshman, didn't produce, and failed to develop enough to compete for a starting job afterwards. *Hanks - 4 year starter and solid performer throughout his career. Compiled 17 INT's and was All-Conference 1st Team his last two years. *Manning - Started as a true Freshman and never missed a game. A reliable presence in the middle, he finished with 93 tackles, 45 assists, 23 TFL's, and 6 sacks in his career. *Harding - Had a couple of decent seasons in backup duty, but never cracked the starting lineup. Caught 71 passes for 936 yards and 9 TD in his career. *Garrison - Was recruited mainly for depth, so not surprising that he never started a game in 4 years. *Brutley - Had big shoes to fill in replacing Will Newton and he managed to do just that. A terrific run stopper, he had 322 tackles in his career, was 1st Team All-American as a Senior, and twice named 1st Team All-Conference. *Brill - Three year starter. Decent, but not great player. Had 10.5 sacks as a Senior. *Kemp - Was caught between RB's who were better before (Bob Phillips, Dana Luther) and after (Alex Young) he came to Idaho. Never started a game. Finished with 446 yards rushing and 3 TD. *Degley - Never cracked the full time starting lineup, but played as the DE on passing downs for his last two seasons and managed 14.5 sacks in that span. *Isaacson - Three year starter who was never spectacular, but pretty solid for the most part. Finished with 153 tackles, 50 assists, and 9 INT's. *Soper - Didn't crack the starting lineup until he was a Senior and was a weak link, only tallying 31 tackles and 1 sack. *McKenzie - Never cracked the starting lineup in 4 years. *Romine - Recruited for depth and thus rode the bench for 4 years. *Woodard - Academic recruit. *Also of note is TE Leon McGregor, who was part of the 2008 recruiting class and played as a true Freshman. He was a 4 year starter who had 70 catches, 846 yards, and 7 TD in his career.

Before I do the full roster overview, here's a look at how strong my roster is rated at each position. The first number is the ranking of my starters and the second number is the ranking of my reserves.
QB: 3rd/5th RB: 19th/14th TE: 29th/15th WR: 2nd/1st C: 23rd/7th G: 5th/3rd T: 7th/24th K: 47th/89th P: 31st/9th DE: 61st/45th DT: 25th/9th ILB: 69th/85th OLB: 19th/18th CB: 24th/19th S: 17th/4th We have a couple big holes at ILB and DE, but I'm overall pleased with how my defense has come along considering my house rule.

This is a promising sign. We absolutely throttle a ranked team. We score TD's on 10 of our 13 drives and build a 56-14 halftime lead. Newsome watches his backups play the 2nd half. Code:

Week 4: Troy (1-1) at #11 Idaho (1-0)
The defense wasn't as sharp in this one, giving up too many big plays and allowing 421 total yards by Troy. Thankfully, Newsome was at his best and threw more TD's than incompletions. Because Troy kept scoring, Newsome stayed in for the whole game and we racked up tons of points. Code:

Week 6: #9 Idaho (2-0) at Arkansas State (0-3)
A weirdly lethargic performance from our guys against a really bad Arkansas State team. Penalties really pile up against us (we commit 18 for 162 yards) that help kill drives and Arkansas State actually has a 13-10 lead at the half. We take the lead back right after the half and build on it in the 4th quarter. However, Troy doesn't give up. They recover an onside kick and have the ball down 5 late in the 4th. Our defense finally steps up and Troy runs out of time. But disaster struck with 1:30 left. Newsome got hurt and will miss 14 weeks. So much for his Heisman chances. Code:
QB Newsome 23-31-382-3-2 RB Young 21-92-0, 2-10-1 WR Lawler 6-96-1 WR Gotchy 5-86-0 WR Harmon 5-109-1 OLB Gilman 6 tackles, 3 assists, 1 INT DE Warren 4 tackles, 1.5 sacks DT Tarver 3 tackles, 1 assist, 1.5 sacks *New Recruits: RB Moe Kleinsasser - #124 Overall, #13 RB CB Alan Ingram - #636 Overall, #45 CB DE Rich Woods - #679 Overall, #57 DE *California beats Arizona 66-10 *We are now #9 in the BCS rankings.

Week 7: New Mexico State (0-4) at #8 Idaho (3-0)
Without Newsome, we turn to Redshirt Freshman Scottie Strickland to lead us. And it's a good start to his career. He throws 5 TD passes, we get good support from the run game, and New Mexico State is held to 182 total yards. Code:
QB Strickland 15-25-256-5-1 RB Young 16-78-0, 1-5-0 RB Crangle 10-101-1, 3-43-0 WR Gotchy 5-101-2 OLB Colwell 4 tackles, 2 assists, 2 sacks *New Recruits: TE Kendrick Warren - #90 Overall, #1 TE RB Moe Kleinsasser - #124 Overall, #13 RB QB Jimmie Olivera - #172 Overall, #14 QB DT Buddy Starks - #692 Overall, #58 DT *USC beats Arizona 57-0. *We are 7th in Coaches Poll and 10th in BCS.

Week 8: #7 Idaho (4-0) at Louisiana-Lafayette (1-4)
Another blowout against a terrible Sun Belt team. The total yardage tells the whole story. We put up 737 yards to their 92. Code:
QB Strickland 11-13-244-5-0 RB Young 20-162-0 RB Crangle 20-118-4, 1-16-0 WR Harmon 9-217-4 WR Gotchy 6-76-1 DT Fields 5 tackles, 1.5 sacks CB Foreman 3 tackles, 1 INT CB Austin 3 tackles, 1 INT *New Recruits: WR Marcus Martinez - #34 Overall, #2 WR DT Andrew Dilly - #872 Overall, #64 DT *BCS Update: Michigan and USC occupy the top two spots. We are 9th.

Week 9: #6 Idaho (5-0) at North Texas (3-3)
Strickland continues to roll against weaker competition. The real question is if he can continue that against Boise State. The defense holds North Texas to 188 total yards. Code:
QB Strickland 18-25-299-3-0 RB Young 16-84-0, 2-51-0 WR Gotchy 7-104-2 WR Weingrad 5-75-0 *New Recruit: CB JC Snyder - #573 Overall, #40 CB *UCLA beats Arizona 51-21. *BCS: There are 9 unbeaten teams left, including us. We are now 6th, behind Michigan, USC, Syracuse, California, and Bowling Green.

Week 10: #6 Idaho (6-0) at Oregon State (3-4)
Is it too late for Strickland to get into the Heisman race? He has a day for the ages, throwing over 500 yards and 8 TD's. The concern is for the defense, which gives up lots of points. Also, it's frustrating that Oregon State sucks this year as they were scheduled as a way to boost our strength of schedule and improve our chances in the BCS. Code:
QB Strickland 26-39-520-8-0 RB Young 22-80-1, 4-31-1 WR Harmon 9-140-4 WR Gotchy 8-209-0 WR Rypien 2-86-2 DE Carpenter 3 tackles, 1 assist, 3.5 sacks CB Austin 3 tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT *Stanford beats Arizona 20-17. *We are still stuck at 6th in the BCS rankings. Even if we win out, we will probably need help to get into the title game.

Week 11: #6 Idaho (7-0) at Utah State (4-4)
Scottie Strickland continues his hot streak and we almost have two 100 yard rushers in a very easy victory over what used to be a good Utah State team. Code:
QB Strickland 13-19-161-5-0 RB Crangle 17-107-1, 2-17-0 RB Young 17-99-0, 3-27-0 WR Weingrad 4-100-1 WR Gotchy 4-66-1 ILB Newman 7 tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT *Scottie Strickland's numbers are ridiculous at this point. He has 27 TD's and only 1 INT with 12.46 Yards per Attempt. *USC beats Cal, but Cal still stays ahead of us in the BCS rankings. *Washington State beats Arizona 14-7.

Week 12: Middle Tennessee State (3-5) at #6 Idaho (8-0)
The defense gives up a few big plays early on, keeping it close. It's only 17-14 lead at one point in the 2nd quarter. But Strickland continues his amazing run and we pull away in the 2nd half. Code:
QB Strickland 23-33-465-6-0 RB Young 19-105-1, 3-55-0 WR Harmon 6-156-4 WR Gotchy 5-90-1 WR Weingrad 3-90-0 ILB Newman 4 tackles, 3 assists, 1 INT *Arizona pulls off a 28-24 win over Oregon. *We have moved up to 4th in the BCS rankings. Michigan, USC, and Bowling Green are ahead of us. *Next week we face #21 Louisiana-Monroe in a battle for the Sun Belt championship. After that is #16 Boise State. These will be our biggest tests of the season.

Week 13: #21 Louisiana-Monroe (8-2) at #6 Idaho (9-0)
Louisiana-Monroe limits the deep ball, but Strickland is still able to perform effectively, using short passes to control the clock. We had possession for over 38 minutes in this one, helping the defense to prevent a Monroe comeback, despite it being a fairly close game until a late Strickland TD pass puts it away. Code:
QB Strickland 24-36-258-4-0 WR Weingrad 7-62-1 WR Gotchy 5-75-0 ILB Newman 6 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack OLB Colwell 1 tackle, 1 INT *Strickland now has 37 TD's and only 1 INT. *New Recruits: G Alonzo Reed - #37 Overall, #3 G *Arizona State beats Arizona 45-19. *Despite the victory over a ranked team, we drop to 5th behind 1 loss California. That awful Sun Belt schedule is killing us.

Week 14: #6 Idaho (10-0) at #23 Boise State (7-3)
We don't get off to a good start, as Strickland throws his first INT in several weeks and it is returned for a TD. Strickland struggles for most of the game, throwing 3 picks total, but still has some big moments, including an 82 yard TD pass that tied the game up in the 2nd quarter. It's 21-21 at the half and our defense forces 5 straight punts. Jay Young has one of his best games in a long time to help us score three times during that span to put the game away. We finally beat Boise State!!!!! Code:
QB Strickland 15-29-229-3-3 RB Young 16-194-2, 4-42-0 WR Gotchy 3-110-2 S Schwartz 12 tackles, 1 assist OLB Colwell 8 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack DT Hollis 4 tackles, 1 assist, 2 sacks *And the victory over Boise State doesn't do anything either, as we drop to 6th in the BCS rankings. A USC loss drops them to 4th and it's Michigan and Bowling Green in the top two spots.

Week 16: #6 Idaho (11-0) vs. #17 Stetson (9-2)
Marino Bowl (Coral Gables, FL) Strickland has as bad a start as possible, throwing 3 INT's in his first 4 possessions. If it wasn't for a huge run by Jay Young and an INT return by Alan Foreman, we would've entered the 2nd half at a huge deficit. Strickland recovers in the 2nd half, throwing 4 TD passes and Stetson is unable to answer. We finish an undefeated season! Code:
QB Strickland 16-26-200-4-4 RB Young 15-183-1 WR Gotchy 6-82-0 WR Weingrad 4-56-1 OLB Gilman 12 tackles, 5 assists OLB Raphael 3 tackles, 1 assist, 2 sacks CB Foreman 2 tackles, 1 INT, 1 TD

We bid farewell to our 2008 recruiting class. This was the class that made the difference for us.
Code:
Young - 4 year starter who had a terrific Freshman season (1154 yards), but struggled with injuries towards the end of his Sophomore and Junior years. He rebounded as a Senior (1238 yards) and was key in our undefeated season. Finished with 3816 yards rushing, 34 TD and 105 catches, 1161 yards, 10 TD. Pete Newsome - He was finally the guy who took our passing game to the next level. I put him in as a Redshirt Freshman and he did struggle a bit (52.7% comp, 20 TD-18 INT), but that was essential to his development. He put up huge numbers his next two years and was on track for the Heisman in his Senior year, until an injury ended his college career. Korey Newsome - Had a terrific Freshman season, catching 52 passes for 992 yards and 11 TD. He violated team rules after our bowl game, so I suspended. That angered him enough to leave the team. Morton - A 4 year starter and a terrific performer all 4 years. Was an especially good run blocker, tallying 124 Key Run Blocks in his career. Gotchy - Another 4 year starter, who steadily improved until making All-American 1st Team as a Junior. Also All-American 2nd as a Senior. He finished with 217 catches, 3913 yards, and 34 TD. Schonmann - 4 year starter and a superior pass blocker. Was very good his whole career, but had an amazing Senior year in which he only allowed 2 sacks in 346 pass plays. McGregor - Graduated last season because he played as a true Freshman. 4 year starter who had 70 catches, 846 yards, and 7 TD in his career. Foreman - Never made the starting lineup, but saw plenty of action as the nickel corner, and performed incredibly well in that role. He tallied 18 INT's and 4 TD in his career. Tarver - Huge disappointment who barely saw any playing time at all. Wasted potential because he couldn't develop. Gilman - A 4 year starter who was a terrific performer throughout his career. He was 1st Team All-Conference as a Senior and finished with 197 tackles, 73 assists, 31 TFL, and 6 INT. Grier - Another guy who left potential on the table because he couldn't develop. Never started a game in his career. Managed 3 INT's and 1 TD in backup duty. Warren - Finally cracked the starting lineup as a Senior and came away with 19 tackles and 8 sacks. Diefendorf - Recruited as a last minute bid for depth, he was only on the field for 4 plays in his entire career. Lyon - Three year starter more due to lack of options than any consistent performance. Only had 12.5 sacks in his career. Fields - Started for 1 year as a Sophomore, but had more success the next 2 years as the passing down specialist, tallying 6 sacks as a Senior.

Here are your 2017 Idaho Vandals...
Coaches Poll Ranking: 8th BCS Poll Ranking: 10th Recruiting Ranking: 11th Note: We will face #1 Michigan, the two time defending champs, to start the year! Code:
Strickland got to play a year earlier than expected and put up big numbers, although I'm concerned by his large number of picks against tougher competition. Caswell didn't develop enough to challenge for the starting job and Olivera looks awful (low Avoid INT). Code:
Crangle and Barnes will split time as the starting RB. Kleinsasser is a great option for the future. Code:
Once again, the strongest part of my team. Even my TE's are really good. Code:
Fox finally developed, giving us 4 terrific starters on the line. Right Tackle will be the weak spot. Code:
Johnson had a terrible season last year (only 9 of 17 FG's), but he's now one of the highest rated Kickers in college football, so hopefully he turns it around. Code:
Still having trouble getting development for my DE's. This is a huge weak spot, unless they can play up to their potential. At least we look solid in the middle. Code:
I was down on Newman earlier, but he's developed very well and had a terrific year last season. The OLB's are deep, but need more development. Code:
This group has played very well for a couple seasons now and they look poised to do it again.

Week 1: #1 Michigan (0-0) at #8 Idaho (0-0)
The two time defending champs make the trip to Idaho and we put in the best performance we've had in this entire dynasty. Michigan punted on every drive they had in the first half and we were able to build a 17-0 lead despite a couple Strickland picks (including one in the end zone). The key series was at the beginning of the 2nd half. We drive to the Michigan 2 yard line, but Johnson misses the chip shot FG. Michigan takes the ball and drives into Idaho territory, threatening to change the momentum. On a 4th and 2 at our 36, they go for it and Newman makes a huge play to stop them short. On the very next play, Strickland throws a 62 yard TD pass to make it 24-0. A demoralized Michigan offense goes 3 and out the next 4 drives before kicking a meaningless FG at the end. Our balanced attack puts more points on the board as just absolutely destroy the two time defending champs. Code:
QB Strickland 22-29-341-4-2 RB Barnes 19-100-0, 4-79-0 WR Lawler 5-74-1, 2-30-0 WR Harmon 4-52-2 WR Barnes 4-79-0 ILB Newman 6 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack DE Linquist 2 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2 TFL, 2 passes blocked *The only bad news is that Strickland suffered an injury during the game. He has a Stretched Knee Ligament and is listed as Questionable. *Again, the early week TCY polls make no sense. We beat the #1 team in the country and drop to 15th in the BCS rankings and only move up to #6 in the Coaches Poll.

Week 2: #6 Idaho (1-0) at #48 Georgia (0-0)
Georgia actually does a decent job bottling up our run game, but they have no hope stopping Strickland, who was excellent again despite his injury. Our defense held Georgia to 221 yards and 2 for 14 on 3rd down conversions. Code:
QB Strickland 17-21-294-4-0 RB Barnes 23-72-1, 2-20-0 WR Lawler 7-88-1 WR Harmon 5-129-2 WR Tackett 3-83-1 S Schwartz 6 tackles, 1 assist, 1 sack UGA QB Compton was 6-29-57-0-2 *The bad news is we lose starting DR Marty Hollis to the Repetitive Concussion Syndrome. His career is over. *More funky polling results. We drop to 7th in the Coaches Poll and move to 7th in the BCS rankings. *Nebraska beats Arizona 21-17.
