We start the year ranked 5th and VCU with that senior class that was ranked number 1 starts out as the #1 team ranked in the polls this year.

We finish up the season 25-6 and 12-5 in conf which put us in 2nd. St. Johns won the conf and we split during the regular season.

We actually run through the conf tourney and beat Georgetown in the title game. They beat St. Johns to get there.

We start the tourney as a freaking #5 seed in the east. Again I think its a terrible terrible seed.

We finish up the season ranked 7th in the nation and VCU ranked 7th. They went 29-4.

Penn State won 3 games all year with Tuggy Jr starting at the PG spot as a sophomore.

Feel bad that they don't have much of a roster over there.

We run over UAB in the first round of the tourney 102-79.

Up next for us is number 4 seed Maryland. They will challenge us and push us. Tuggy needs to stay focued on this game and no look forward to VCU who we would get with a victory against Maryland. Assuming VCU beat #9 seed Iowa state

Maryland beats us 93-86, but Iowa state also pulls off a huge upset and VCU goes down 84-77.

Not a good run for us this year. Hopefully recruiting is good

Well this is why Tuggy left VCU and went to a big boy school.

We land the number 1 class in the nation and pull in four 5 star recruits.

They rank 2,4,8, and 12 respectfully.

Hell of a class there.

Virginia offers tuggy their head coaching job and he isn't interested.

I forget to try and upgrade my coaching assistant. That might hurt.....

We have 4 offers to entice recruits with again this year. if we have another great class this could be something special in 2-3 years here.

It has been an interesting ride. the upsets seem to be up in the past few years with this career, at least that's is what it seems like. I haven't run through each game, but there was a lot to notice when I was actually looking.

Our roster looks strong again this year.

Trammel and Sherer are going to be mosters together in 3 years. Hopefully tuggy understands that even though we are deep in the paint, he needs to get sherer the mins so he doesn't transfer. He projects to be better that Trammel actually.

Are there no early entries? Because Trammell would certainly be a 1-year player otherwise.

Tuggy Jr is going to try to figure out a way to lead PSU to a few wins this year.

Being a pure PG, its going to be hard since there is nobody on that roster to set up.

Will be interesting to see how he develops.

We start the year ranked 2nd in the Polls, and VCU is ranked 16th. They still have a good roster, but after this year I expect to see them take a decent size drop off wins wise.

We finish up the season 26-5 and 13-5 in conf, which once again puts us in 2nd place. Georgetown who beat us twice won the conf only losing 2 games.

Penn State finishes up 11-19 and it looks like Tuggy Jr might have wasted his career going there to try to build up a program.

Georgetown beat us in the conf title game for their 3rd win over us this year. They just own us. We lost by 27 in the title game to them. Just a crazy loss for us.

We finally get a decent seed as a #3 seed in the south region. We finish the season ranked 4th in the polls. VCU finished up being ranked 14th

We play Samford in the first round and they shouldn't offer us much resistance. They don't as we beat them by 40.

Next up is Florida State. They don't look like anything special either few green guys as they are the number 6 seed. We beat them 85-62.

Sweet 16 time!

VCU loses to Louisville this round so they get knocked out. Feel bad for the seniors there. They underachieved badly the past 2 years. Has to be their new coach cause they certainly had the talent.

Youll like this post BRIT.

We play Tennesse State who has simply captured America's heart this tournament. They made the Sweet 16 by beating #2 seed Richmond 101-93, then play #7 seed Utah and beat them 84-75 as the number 15 seed. So here they are playing another big boy team after already slaying one. They have 1 blue player who is a PG who can play D- averages 2.1 steals a game. They also have 1 green player who has a rating of 95 inside and averages 17.2 points in the paint.

We clearly need to hold that post guy in check, but other than that, they don't have anybody else. I'm simply amazed at what this team has been able to accomplish

So I went back and looked at their box scores. They are literally the hottest shooting team ever. In both of those games they shot over 50% from the field, and didn't shot below 80 from the charity stripe.

They held Richmond to 30% in their first game, and had Utah in the low 40's.

We better not run into this buzz saw and better play some D this game.

Well we showed up and played some D. We beat them 86-56 and they only shot 32% this game. We pounded them in the paint and scored 43 points from our starting C and PF.

Up next in the Elite 8 is duke, and well they are duke so it should be a good game

We take on fellow 3 seed Virginia Tech in the final 4. They are top heavy, but have no bench at all.

I'm hoping we are able to get past them to be in the title game. Will be disappointed to get past a good duke team only to lose to VT

Wow has this been a neat run.

We do handle our business and take down VT 93-84 to advance to the title game against rival DePaul.

Our 17 turnovers cant happen again though if we expect to win in the big game

DePaul has been on a nice run themselves. They are a 7 seed and finished up 3rd behind us in the Big East Standings.

We beat DePaul twice this season. 81-61 at home, and then 76-67 at their place.

It's hard not to be confident about this one right?

Can Tuggy Bear get his first Title? Can he vault NOVA to their 4th title in 6 appearances?

National Champs!!!!!

Tuggy and his team beat DePaul for the 3rd time 75-68 to become national champs.

Tuggy is no longer a loser nor a failure when looking at records.

Tuggy made a good choice moving to Villanova when even he questioned if he was making the correct choice.

In the end he was correct, and will go down in the history books as a national champion rather than an average coach which was looking like he would only be a few short years ago.

That what 10 years or so at Purdue almost had him canned, and he would have never had this opportunity if that job turned out a bit differently.

Kinda crazy how 1 season makes or breaks you in this game.

Side note: We clean up the awards this year which was neat to see.

We lost another coach to Valpo. I think Charles Shannon might be a huge coach in a few years. I hope he goes off and does some big things for Valpo! Level 9 with 97, 100, 39 and 44 as ratings. He spend 3 years on Tuggys Bench as the scout. He has been to the round of 32, the elite 8 and has a national title under his belt.

If you are gonna take a gamble, why not on his 27 year old butt. Yes head coach at Valpo is now 27!

I cant wait to see where he might be in a few years

James Morales who was the head coach at Georgia Tech was fired, so he is now an assistant at Rhode Island. I was hoping he would made an impact at GT.

Scott Ray who left me at VCU to take over at Wofford made the NIT last year. so in 3 years at Wofford he is 49-47 with a conf title. He might have a shot.

Steward Dixon who was my first coach that I was excited about getting a job has struggled in his 2 years at coastal Carolina. He is 17-45. Hopefully he can right that ship soon.

William Lundgarden who was with me at purdue for a year an followed me to VCU, left me and took over at Fairleigh Dickenson. He parlayed that job into a better one at Georgia state, where he just finished up a 21-12 campaign and a first round loss in the tourney. He is 131-93.

So that's my coaching tree at the moment

With a guy transferring out that leaves us with 3 offers to recruit with this year.

We stack up nicely again this year. Is it repeatable? I don't think we are that good. We have too much green and not enough blue, but I expect to make the tourney and compete for a sweet 16 hopefully.

Im afraid Tuggy Jr will once again have a bad year at Penn State. Maybe with some luck he will get drafted, but its not looking likely.

They just have nobody to pair him up with, and it has been sad to watch his talents not get used the way a top team would have been able to use them.

We start the year ranked 2nd with UCLA nabbing the top spot. As expected VCU isn't ranked, and has dropped off the map talent wise which is a shame.

After looking over their roster, I might be being harsh. I wasn't expecting 3 freshman who are all currently green blue to show up. So they have a shot at being decent but extremely young.

We finish the year at 21-9 and 12-6 in conf which was good for 3rd place. DePaul finished up 16-2 in conf and Xavier finished up tied with us but had a better overall record.

We are ranked 27th, and VCU for goodness sakes is ranked 11th. Good for those freshman.

Georgetown beats us in the 2nd round of the big east tourney and we end up being an 8th seed in the east region of the ncaa tourney.

We will face #9 seed Kansas state who shouldn't really push us I wouldn't think but you never know.

Penn State finishes up 12-19 so Tuggy Jr was only able to play in the NIT his freshman year. Im disappointed with how that turned out

We beat Kansas state like I thought and then #1 seed Maryland runs over us 88-76. No magic run for us this year, but I didn't expect to have it. Young team that was good enough to compete which is all I was asking for.

Tuggy Jr ended up having a good Senior year and might have a chance at getting drafted.

Tuggs Jr ends up finish up ranked 30th on PSU's all time scoring list, 2nd all time on their assist list, 6th all time on their steals list, and 13th all time on their free throws made list.

He finishes up 40th all time in the BIG 10 conference on their all time assist list.

Not a bad career, but nothing stellar. He will go down as one of the better players in the history of Penn State basketball as he was ranked 66th coming out of high school as a 3 star recruit.

Tuggs jr does get drafted with the 54th pick and will have a shot at an NBA roster, which is good for him. Not the career he wanted college wise, but has the opportunity to make it in the NBA.

Anybody that is playing with the pro version and wouldn't mind a guy getting thrown into their league as an import shoot me a PM if you are reading this. I wouldn't mind trying to get him imported in a league somewhere to see what he ends up doing if anything.

6,9, and 17 respectively.

Recruiting seems to have picked up with the move to NOVA

Gordon Hopkins leaves us to get another shot at being the head coach at Army.

Ill be looking for another coaching assistant.

I land another young gun with ratings as 53,98, 69, 100. He has no experience and is age 35. Experience level is at 11.

un freaking believable. I was pretty excited about what I thought I was going to be able to post, but then DePaul had to go and ruin it on the last damn game of the season

That would have bee the first time I have ever gone undefeated (even though im not doing much at all) but was still excited about the possibility of that, and in typical FBCB fashion it got ripped out from me when it was right there TO BE HAD

UGHHHHH

and then to make matters worse, we lose in the first round of the conf tourney.

lol

We go from a sure fire number 1 seed for what 6 months, and in a matter of 2 games over 6 days we drop a damn seed. ohhh my gosh that is frustrating

We play niagria in the first round. We crush them. 2nd round we play #7 seed Indiana State. They shouldn't offer much of a challenge either. However they do, and we sweat out a 72-67 victory.

Next up is #3 Kentucky which has a ton of firepower. Not sure how this one is going to end up, but I still like Tuggys chances. We have a deep team that can play.

We beat them 66-63 in a grind it out game. We keep rolling on!!

Next up is number 4 seed Maryland. They are just like us except they aren't as deep. They should pose a game though and im a bit more worried about the than Kentucky. Their starting 5 seems a bit more talented and their SG James Manya averages 19 points a game and can go off whenever he feels like it so.....

We shall see

Boy did I call that one

We move on with the 73-72 victory but check out the damage shooting guard James Manya did. He almost willed them to victory himself. If they would have gotten any type of production from their bench we would have been going home.

Instead though we are onto the Final 4 again and take on bad ass UCLA

UCLA can board, and block shots, but nothing else. They are #1 in rebounding and 5th in blocked shots, but don't have a lot else. They are average in that sense. In looking at their roster there are a lot of green guys.

They do have a PF in Junior Terell russel who averages 19.1 points, 8.9 boards, and 2.6 blocks. He can take over a game at any point. We will need to keep him in check.

On our side stats wise, we are 21st in field goal percentage, and 20th in blocks but even worse than UCLA in other categories. We however are 12-1 vs the top 50....... So we got that going for us.

Still think we can win this game

MAN...... we end up losing 69-54 and we held russel in check with 7 points on 2-14 shooting AND WE STILL GET BLOWN OUT

UCLA shoots the hell out of the 3 ball going 10-18. Between that and our 20 turnovers that is the difference in the game right there. We actually out rebounded them by one which was another surprise, but makes no real difference.

Tuggy is going to have prob one more real shot at the title, and that is next year.

After that it might be time to start to think about what he is going to do career wise as he will be 63 next season.

BTW UCLA claimed the title after a 35 point beat down vs Virginia Tech in the title game
