I actually think that the conversation drivers day 1 are less likely to be lynched than most. However, killing everyone as the wolf nobody saw last game increases one's chances greatly......

Ok, I forgot my laptop power cord today so this is the first time I've really been able to read the thread. An interesting batch of reasoning since the only clue was the existence of an alpha wolf!

Either way, even with the good reasoning being done, I'm not sure how we'll figure one out. For now, I'm inclined to spread the vote out. If anyone doesn't really like that, I'll (hopefully) be able to read about it in the morning and consider a switch.

My understanding of how this works, and Neon can correct me if wrong, is that he contacted the Alpha yesterday and got their picks for the wolves before assigning the rest of the roles and sending PM's.

Is that correct, Neon? I assume so because if not you could have something like the seer being picked as a wolf.

Some interesting stuff going on to look at there. Seems as though everyone has voted, which is great. My vote looks to be pretty useless at the moment so I'll need to move it to one of the three main candidates.

Of the three main candidates I think KWhit is acting the most wolfishly. Obviously. Not so much the jokey references to his being a wolf more the fact that it looks like he was fishing for an alternative lynch candidate and followed Heinz on to one. However that was pretty blatent which seems unlikely for an experienced wolf. Except, of course, an experienced wolf would reckon with people thinking that and etc etc... As a high profile winning wolf in recent memory he is someone a newbie alpha might look at to have on their team.

NTN would be more the choice of a more experienced alpha wolf and would be a great choice in my opinion. However I don't like the way that Heinz and, particularly, KWhit jumped on him.

I'm tempted to vote Pass to tie things up and make it even more interesting but the only worry I have is that he has two votes that (from my understanding) won't be moved. (Path and Jackal's) This sort of marks him as an easy target for the wolfies. And, of course, it won't actually tie things up. Even if I vote Pass NTN will still be in line for the chop. So the only way to change the current lead and see if anything comes out in the wash is

McCollins and Sonic, both of your votes look very much like throwaways. I would personally consider moving them. There are three players on the block. I'm no statistician but I think there's a decent chance that one of them is a wolf. Actually I think that this, retrospectively, goes for ITC and Eagles as well.

I think the amount of action and room for analysis here on day one is a great endorsement of the concept of an alpha wolf picking team-mates.

I've been looking over Neon's last game "Iron Cross" and that is how it worked there. It's also the most logical way of going about things. Incidentally Neon's rules say that he won't answer questions directly in the thread, he'll only respond to PMs.

Well if you look now, my vote switch did it's intended purpose. The only person I know for sure is good in this game is me, and so switching from one person who is basically unknown (KWhit) to another unknown (ntn) is a net effective change of zero, aside from the fact that it means I no longer have any votes on me.

As far as why I picked ntn, I think it's sound reasoning. Aside from the standard 1/15 odds he's the alpha, I think any alpha would be wise to pick him just on the basis that in doing so you're getting a good, experienced player who is comfortable playing UTR and excels at it (I could never do it)

Of course I jumped on him. And yes, I was pandering for an alternate lynch, because I was the lead vote-getter and I know I'm not a wolf.

Jeheinz moved his vote off of me and onto ntn. I moved my vote to ntn also because it tied things up. It's very simple actually and there's nothing wolfish about it. Simple self-preservation and it is in my eyes the best thing for the villagers - since I know what my role it, the best way I personally can help the village is by ensuring that I live.
