Not saying we shouldn't assume we will be able to change votes in future days, but just getting it out there that we don't know that this will always apply.

I kinda agree with this. I can't see how you could run a whole WW game with this kind of rule unless there is a very different mechanic at work for analysis.

I do find it interesting that CF popped up to tell us our votes were locked in right after the first two vote switches. Could be nothing but could also be a hidden mechanic at play

I will not just throw away my vote. Especially in light of inability to change vote. I will vote for one of the top 3. Hopefully, we get lucky and vote out a wolf day one. If not - it would be painfully easy for the rest of you to shine the light onto me.

Given that the test consists of voting, I think it's likely that the first cut will be those who do not vote or the last person to cast a vote.

VOTE THE JACKAL.

As I said, I don't really have a good reason to decide between one of the three. But I want to put my vote out there early enough that the last couple of voters can sway the outcome if any additional info comes to light.

I like britrock's assessment of things. In any case, adding me to the mix in the case of a vote off.. Well, that would just be rude. How many wolves do you know that like lemon chiffon?

On the other hand, maybe winning the vote would be a good thing. Maybe we're voting for best test subject. I could go for a little cake right about now because my companion cube is quite a curmudgeon.

2 things I see:

The rules state the winner is the one with the most votes. Let's see if that is a positive or negative outcome.

Secondly, if you do not vote for someone, votes for you will be processed. So there is an extra mechanic in play for non-voters..

That makes me lean toward a negative outcome for the winner.

The Aperture Science Radioactive Voting Tabulator is completely accurate and can calculate votes to the nearest whole number and is able, on certain days when the clouds are covering in a certain way, to calculate votes even before they are cast.

Zinto 1 - britrock

Did anyone else find it odd that Autumn was the catalyst for the no-switch? His follow-up post was a little over the top as well. Makes me wonder...

I don't know if I'd point the finger at Autumn specifically, but I definitely find it interesting that the first vote switches were the catalyst for CF's first indication that the votes were locked in. I think maybe somebody triggered a game condition, whether it's willingly or unwillingly who knows.

I don't think Autumn is dumb enough to trigger the condition and then be so obviously over the top in drawing our attention to it. That doesn't seem so suspicious to me. At least not in a "he must be a wolf" way.

Well, it looks like Chubby and MV are the only things that can keep us from a tie. Who knows what that means.

i think you all are onto something.. after a certain number or percentage of votes cast... the votes are locked into place.. leaving a select few to sway at the end.. might be something to look for.. wolves voting close to deadline.

At this point I'm operating under the assumption votes will always be locked until we have proof this isn't the case.

Also Ragone... knowing all votes are final why the hell would you tie it up there? In classic WW play that's suicide for the village. I hope this is non-classic WW and it doesn't matter, but it looks bad

My guess is that the portal "tests" are different daily rules that affect the gameplay in one way or another and that the day one test is this rule about vote changes.

At least I hope that's what I hope it is, because I was looking forward to playing through a different test each day, because vanilla ww is a little stale to me.

Hey GlaDos... I know you like playing things close to the vest, but since you're the all powerful testing master, how about letting us know what we're getting into? Is the vote rule our first test?

I mean, you can't be scared of giving us too much information, right? We're just lowly test subjects. What could it hurt? Unless you're scared of us getting some kind of advantage over you and your cute little tests.....

This has suppressed the deadine banter as well. I am not putting my faith in Chubby or MV showing up in ten minutes so it will probably end in a tie.

Strange game mechanic.

Isn't that always the case with CrimsonFox?

I think the schtick with this game is we don't know any rules, that they'll be revealed in game. I agree that they'll probably change routinely.

I made a big deal about it, because I noticed, since my vote didn't switch, and I thought it very likely that 50% of the people wouldn't notice and then be all "what? I didn't realize".

In CF's last post, about knowing votes before they happen, did anyone who's tracking votes notice if there was a vote listed that wasn't made in thread??

And to answer someone's question, I just picked jackal because he was one of the vote getters, that's all.

Calculations tabulated. Test Results complete.

GoldenEagle 4 - bhlloy, Narcizo, Passacaglia, Ragone
The_Jackal 4- Raiders_Army, hoopsguy, GoldenEagle, tyketime
Marc_Vaughan 3
Chubby 3
Autumn 3 - PackerFanatic, Zinto, Darth_Vilus
Julio Riddols 2 - JAG, Simbo Klice
JAG 2 - Barkeep, Julio_Riddols
Narcizo 1 - The_Jackal
KWHIT 1 - Autumn
Chubby 1 - KWHIT

Zinto 1 - britrock

The winner of the vote is The_Jackal and GoldenEagle. There will now be a special party just for them. A pity party.

Now they know who hates them.

They along with everyone else, especially those who hate them, will please move into the next chamber and await the night maintenance report followed by induced hypersleep.

CF had us scared. I was sure they were both going to be offed.

Looks like no-shows will nearly kill themselves off, so we don't even need to worry about them.

so a no-lynch day 1. I wonder if that's just the day one rule, or a tiebreaker result, or just that we didn't meet some criteria of CF's?

No votes from Chubby and MV? I think we need to look there -- your feelings on this matter in general aside, we can't have folks who may or may not vote in a game where there's no switching. Or is that just for today? Were the attempts to change votes made on votes that were locked in according to CF's post (I'm assuming that's the only tip-off, his "locked in" statement)?

The nighttime is now processing and you are now back in your Aperture Science personal hypersleep glass-shielded chambers. This is the perfect time to introduce you to an important test object. How dare you think of it as an object. It is not just an object but it is a friend and a protector. It is called, The Weighted Companion Cube

and you should guard it with your life. Do not lose the Weighted Companion Cube. Never get it wet. Never feed it after midnight. Protect it and it will protect you. Never let it out of your—Whoops! I dropped it. Where is it? Where did it go? Do any of you see it?

Test 3 - Unvoting
5700-Grumpy-Voter-With-His-Hand-In-A-Ballot-Box-Stuffing-The-Ballot-Box-Clipart-Illustration.jpg

Unvoting is the art of removing a previously made vote. Some people make a living at it. You all remember how to vote?

Let's use Mary again.

VOTE MARY

You see what I did there? I voted for Mary.

Now let's unvote Mary

UNVOTE MARY

The same principals apply. Use boldface just as you would a vote. Now it is as if you never voted and can now vote for someone else like Chuck or even better the person that--**FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF..**

Which would be bad how? A higher vote death rate to night kill rate is positive for the village, shirley? Then again we didn't get a night kill either apparently so it looks like nothing much happened at all yesterday apart from this cubey thingy going missing.

FWIW I was going to switch my vote to Jackal before I went to bed yesterday but my internet connection died mid-submit. Not that it would have made any difference as it turns out.

Unfortunately MV being a no-show doesn't surprise me. I think I've been in a couple of games "with" him and never seen him post.
