How many people in this draft are in their first draft this season? This is my second and it seems like this one is more representative (once you take out the rule changes) of what players' true "projected values" are. You see some pretty big influences where guys who are "likes" really moved up the board to what people think are their true potential and "dislikes" dropped a lot so they become bargains.

Gotta pick 2 QBs at some point Tho there are 3 or 4 I'd still be happy with as my QB2 right now. Heck, there's one I'd be fine with as my QB1. SI

If you can't have one of the top tier QBs, it is hard to argue with loading up on the RBs and WRs. The drop offs at RB now are dramatic and the WR values were very very good.

Looks like Butter, myself, and Rafini are all reading this thread so we'll have this thing turned around again here in a little bit. I have a meeting at 2, but it's on the phone so I can still pick. I just might be a little slow.

I really hate the late teen + 20+ ranked RB's this year. Usually there are at least a couple I like, but this year I dont get excited about any of them.

Me, too. We have really hit a cliff in terms of RBs. If you don't have your two top guys already, you will either have to get lucky and one of these remaining guys pans out much better than we thought, or you better hope you made carry the team level picks at QB and WR.

Yes, this is what pushed me into grabbing the 2 RBs at my last pick. I felt that I'd have better luck filling out the WRs in the later rounds. |

6.9 TE Antonio Gates, SD
There are a lot of good TEs out there but I think they're going to start going off the board fairly quickly and I wanted to get the one I thought was at the top of the stack as no other players are really jumping out at me. SI

I normally like to get my TEs early in this draft, but the requirement of only 1 TE starter really lessens their value IMO.

I agree, tho it's slightly offset by the PPR nature of the league. It's something to consider for next year's league. However, you usually were starting someone in the dregs for your 2nd TE here and I wanted to get away from that. SI

I agree with TRO, TE's actually have weaker value in this league now compared to a standard league.
The reason is that say a TE like Gronk is a +100 over the 11th ranked TE. Then lets say in standard league a guy like Charles is +70 over the 21st ranked RB. Because we have that extra RB flex spot, that adds an extra +30 or so to Charles' value but leaves Gronks value the same. These are just rough numbers. |

I was about to take Dwayne Bowe and realized "oops, that would be 4 players with week 7 bye". Normally I don't pay any attention to byes but this seems like it could be a problem

I don't like him that much. Rookie QB in a mediocre situation with mediocre WRs. It's not that he's necessarily going to be bad, but I don't think he's going to be good and his ADP is nuts in a lot of leagues. Here he fell quite a bit so he's a reasonable pick but not a steal, in my mind. I just don't see him that much better than some of the other fluff left on the board: Palmer, Freeman, Dalton, Flacco, or maybe even Luck. SI

I strongly looked at Greene since he seems almost guaranteed to start but I was worried about the Tebow factor stealing all of his TDs and it's not like he's a great or consistent runner to begin with. Sure, he's the only RB but it's like having a TD vulture behind you

Pfft, only 3 teams left need a 2nd QB. I would have considered one of RGIII, Dalton and Luck here, but since I miss that tier, I'll pick up a nice secondary prize:
7.9 WR Dwayne Bowe, KC

7.10 WR Miles Austin, Dal
8.1 WR Robert Meachem, SD I was hoping for Bowe. Ended up going for questionable guys in better than average offenses as opposed to better than average guys in questionable offenses. |

I don't disagree with anything here, but what I think puts him ahead of those guys is his running ability. He'll likely have similar passing stats but an extra 70 or so points from running. I do think his ADP is generally too high though, but I'll certainly take him 3-4 rounds after guys I have rated lower like Cutler and Schaub |

I appreciate the optimism with Subby's Dalton pick, but there is a reason the Bengals haven't had back-to-back winning seasons in forever.
