#23 Lamar (6-4, 1-1), RPI: 8th
They've played a tough schedule, which is why they're still in the top 25 at #23. However, something keeps holding them back from playing to their full potential, as they should not be dropping games to Sam Houston State. Code:

Hartford (19-9, 13-3), RPI: 44th
The Hawks finally get the breakthrough they've been waiting for, as Senior PG Merle Tibbets leads them to the regular season conference title. Tibbets finally has some help off the bench, as Freshman Braxton and Herbst provide efficient offense in limited minutes. Hartford is currently a bubble team and may need to win the conference tourney to make the NCAA tourney. Code:

The Owls are not quite as good without Ducourouble and Markus, but they're still the cream of the crop in the Atlantic Sun as they take the regular season conference title. Some late season slip ups probably ended chances of an automatic bid, so they'll need to win the conference tourney. Code:

Well the AD told Hilton Starks he needed to get to .500 in conference and he just barely did it, even if it took narrow wins in their final two games to get there. Will they still keep him? Young players have played well, but not enough to spark the breakthrough the Vikes so desperately need. Code:

#23 Charleston Southern, 26-3 (18-0) RPI: 46th
The Bucs just completely steamroll the Big South, as opposes offense just can't figure out that defense. Only two teams scored more than 40 pts against them, and Campbell and Winthrop were held to the teens! They have cracked the top 25 and are considered a lock to make the NCAA tourney. Code:

Lamar (20-9, 13-5), RPI: 83rd
I don't know what it is about Lamar, but they play so inconsistently for a team stacked with this much talent. After falling to a shocking 4-4 in conference after a loss to Stephen F. Austin, they finally put it together to win 9 of their next 10. They will still need to win the conference tourney for an NCAA bid, which is not where they expected to be after being ranked #6 to start the season. Code:

Despite falling to 0-4 at the start of conference play, the Panthers claw back to finish with a .500 conference record. Doane, Williams, and Graybill have keyed this improvement from last season. Code:

1st Round: (1) Hartford vs. (8) New Hampshire The Hawks trail for most of the game, mainly due to their inability to stop New Hampshire SG Randy Rodriguez, who erupted for 30 pts. Hartford fought back in the 2nd half and took a 70-69 lead with 7 minutes left. Unfortunately, Rodriguez leads UNH on an 11-2 run that put the game away. Disappointing 1st round exit for the Hawks and now they have to wait to see if they get an at large bid. Code:

1st Round: (1) Kennesaw State vs. (8) Lipscomb The Owls immediately race out to an 8-0 lead, but Lipscomb gives them fits all game by finding ways to get to the free throw line. They take a 6pt halftime lead, but KSU fights back and takes a 79-77 lead with 5:43. Unfortunately, foul trouble dooms them down the stretch as they lose 3 starters. Without their leaders, the Owls collapse and only score 1 pt over the final 5:43. Another 1st round exit by a #1 FOFC seed. Code:

1st Round: (5) Portland State vs. (12) Montana State And the Vikings don't show up against a terrible Montana State squad. Fans could be heard chanting for Hilton Starks to be fired, but it sounds like the AD may stick with him for one more year. Code:

2nd Round: (1) Charleston Southern vs. (9) UNC Asheville The Bucs lead the entire way against an overmatched UNC Asheville squad. The Bucs defense is so good they hold UNC Asheville scoreless for the final 7:51. The Bucs themselves only score 3 pts in that time, so yeah, not a game you'd want to be in attendance for. Code:
Semifinals: (1) Charleston Southern vs. (4) Coastal Carolina Most of this game was more lopsided than the final score would indicate. The Bucs led the whole way, building up to a 12 pt lead with 2:54 left. Coastal manages to hit 4 3-pointers to close it to a 3 pt game with 7 seconds left. However, Walker Tuggle hits the key free throw to put Charleston Southern up by 4 and seal the victory. Code:
Conference Championship: (1) Charleston Southern vs. (3) Radford The Bucs force 19 turnovers and 4 of 16 shooting from 3 pt land as they race to an early lead and cruise for an easy victory. In winning their 2nd straight conference tourney, they potentially make the path easier for Hartford, who needs fewer upsets in the tourneys to get an at large bid. Code:

1st Round: (7) Prairie View A&M vs. (10) Texas Southern Finally another FOFC team gets a conference tourney win, as the Panthers put together their most impressive performance in this dynasty. Neal Williams and Ronald Graybill had huge games. Code:
2nd Round: (7) Prairie View A&M vs. (2) Alabama State In a very closely fought battle, Prairie View A&M comes up short in heartbreaking fashion. With 10 seconds left, the Panthers were down by 3 and had the ball. Here's how it ended: Code:
Somehow a 100 intelligence didn't prevent that. And this is the last game of Graybill's career.

Charleston Southern makes the NCAA Tourney as the #8 seed.
Hartford.... makes the tourney as the final at large bid! They will be in the 12 seed play-in game. Lamar will go to the NIT as a #3 seed. Kennesaw State will go to the NIT as a #6 seed. Yes, KSU and Lamar are in the same region, so will face off against each other in the 1st round! DavidCorperial may now pick a 2nd skill, which will be applied at the start of next season. Reminder of remaining skills: Free Throws 3 Point Frequency Handling Def rebound Steals Blocks Fouling Strength Jumping Stamina

PLay-in Round: (12) Hartford vs. (12) Colgate Early in the 1st half, Colgate went on an 18-5 run to take a a 16 pt lead. Despite a valiant effort by PG Merle Tibbets in his last game, the Hawks were never able to cut the lead to single digits. Poor defense and poor 3 pt shooting did them in here. Code:

(8) Charleston Southern vs. (9) Louisiana Tech If I told you one team shot .200 from the field and the other team shot .519, who do you think won the game? Amazingly, the Bucs only hit 7 of 35 shot attempts, yet still won the game thanks to forcing 26 turnovers and hitting 26 of 33 free throws. Maybe the ugliest win I've ever seen, but it is a win and Charleston Southern becomes the first FOFC team to win a tourney game. Code:

Breeze has unlocked the 3rd skill, but a reminder as to how this works. The 3rd skill only gets picked once everyone gets a 2nd skill. We are still waiting for Portland State and Prairie View to get there. Once they do, Breeze will have 1st priority for the 3rd skill.

Round 2: (8) Charleston Southern vs. (1) Duke The Bucs reward for winning is to face Duke in the 2nd round. The good news is they've beaten Duke before, albeit in a regular season game. The Bucs take that confidence and open a 15-2 lead to start the game as Duke just can't figure out the Bucs defense. However, halftime adjustments prove to be valuable as Duke's offense explodes for 39 2nd half points. Charleston Southern is still within 2 pts with 5:08 left, but Duke outscores them 12-3 the rest of the way. Code:

NIT Tourney
1st Round: (3) Lamar vs. (6) Kennesaw State The 2nd ever matchup between FOFC teams is a very good matchup, with several lead changes throughout the game. SG Chris Albers (15 pts) hits a three to put Lamar up by 1 with 5:08 left, but it's the last lead they would see. SG Erick Greenwald steps up big with 21 pts as KSU executes better down the stretch. The 47-25 edge on the boards was a huge factor in this one. Code:

NIT Tourney
2nd Round: (6) Kennesaw State 83, (2) Gonzaga 80 - Backup SG Bradbury comes up with 14 pts and the go ahead 3 with 42 seconds left. 3rd Round: (6) Kennesaw State 76, (4) UMKC 73 - With 6 seconds left and a 2 pt lead, Ryall gets the offensive rebound after a missed free throw, denying UMKC a chance at the game winning or tying shot. Semifinals: (6) Kennesaw State 77, (2) College of Charleston 68 - This one is much less dramatic. The Owls lead the entire way behind solid performances from Greenwald, Sims, and McCaslin. NIT Championship: (6) Kennesaw State 103, (8) Toledo 85 - Another year, another FOFC team winning the NIT and doing it with a 100 pt performance. Greenwald has a massive game with 28 pts. Code:

The Hawks will mostly be relying on people who haven't started a game yet. However, they have the additional Steals skill, which should lead to a much improved defense. Junior Alexis Henriquez will be the key to Hartford's success. They start the season as the #21 team in the country. Code:

Team: Charleston Southern AD: Breeze Head Coach: Isiah Molina (51 Rec, 18 Sct, 100 Off, 31 Def) Recruiter: James McMahan (32 Rec) Scout: Elmer Orth (32 Sct) Assistant: Kelvin Emrick (38 Off, 21 Def) Team Budget: $207,187 AD Expectations:Play in the NCAA Tournament Key Returning Players: PG Alphonse Hayes, SF Karl Mertz, SG Gregory Grillo Key Incoming Players: SF Charles Gilstrap (redshirting), C Jacques Evans, C Jared Brown Prestige: 25 (+11) Outlook: After a dreams season for the Bucs, Head Coach Richard Blakeny departs for Kansas State. Charleston Southern brings in Isiah Molina, who was an assistant on the Duke team that beat them last year. He's offensive minded, which is what they need. They added some young guys with decent offensive skills, which should help. The game AI is unimpressed as Charleston Southern is unranked to start the year. Code:

We have another early season FOFC matchup...
Prairie View A&M (1-1) at #2 Lamar (2-0) In what should've been a lopsided matchup, Prairie View took control in the 1st half, building an 8 pt lead at halftime due to a slew of forced turnovers and excellent play from Williams and Doane. As expected, Lamar came roaring back in the 2nd half and the game turned into a real battle, with multiple lead changes. Prairie View took a 73-71 lead with 3:52 left, but their shooters get cold and they only get 2 more pts the rest of the game as Lamar narrowly avoids a huge upset. Valiant effort by the Panthers. The Hawks have fallen out of the top 25, but their only bad loss was at Nevada where they missed a game winner at the buzzer. Leading scorer Alexis Henriquez (17.4 ppg) has missed 7 games and will miss most of January as well. The good news is they won their first two conference games by double digits. Code:

The Owls raced out to a 6-0 record before dropping a game to a bad Western Carolina on a three pointer at the buzzer. They went on to lose three more, but two of those were ranked teams. Greenwald is on fire with 19.9 ppg. Code:

Without a doubt, the best start the Vikings have had in this dynasty. Sophomore C Jonathan Wilson is the real deal, leading the way with 12.2 ppg, 8.4 rpg, and 1.9 bpg. Can they keep this up in conference play? Code:
