I was talking about the QBs who have had 6 or more years of 20 TD passes. PRetty elite group. |

Isn't this pretty clearly a "Ground can't cause a fumble" play?

Yeah, that's a "ground can't cause a fumble."
That's a much better explanation than forearm hitting or not...which should've been too close to call to be indisputible, IMO. |

Giants got a break. I don't think there was enough there to overturn it.

Depends on if the player would have been considered tackled when he hit the ground. I guess the ref just ruled that since the Eagles' player made contact with Bradshaw as he was bending down to the ground, he is considered tackled since his forearm touched the ground and therefore it's not a fumble. He didn't really explain it well IMO. Last edited by sabotai : 11-21-2010 at 10:19 PM. |

Inches away from Game Over win for Giants....instead it's a huge play by McCoy for the TD.
Eagle's offensive weapons are just sick. |

I coached against LeSean McCoy in high school...good guy, good player (obviously). He's from the same high school as Ricky Watters and a lot of other pro football players. The nephew of Hank Poteat, Jameel, is currently a senior there (Bishop McDevitt HS, Harrisburg PA), and is one of the top RB in the country. He's going to Pitt.

On an unrelated note to this game... during the Steelers/Raiders game, they showed how Shane Lechler has a vial of smelling salts he sniffs before each punt. He throws the vial on the field after, prompting the announcer to question (kind of jokingly) if that should be a penalty for littering.
On a serious note, isn't it kind of weird to use smelling salts before every punt? I'm not familiar with what making smelling salts work, but shouldn't something like this be against the rules or something? |

Depends on your definition of clutch... is it a game in November or is it a playoff game? He isn't doing a Romo, if that's what you are getting at... |

To the best of my knowledge, Romo has yet to have two turnovers in the same 4th quarter drive with his team down a score. And if we are using Lathum's definition of a big game, then this one qualifies. |

They should go for it here. At worst you give the Giants the ball at their 12 with about 20 seconds left and no timeouts.

I see your point, but the percentage of made field goals in the NFL at that range has to be in the 95 percentile. I will take those odds to make it a 2 score game and go home. |

FOFC's poster "hawglaw" had an interesting moment today. He has some connections and was down on the field during the warm ups at the Falcons/Rams game. Standing out there watching, he puts his son on his shoulders. Eventually his son gets beaned by Bradford.
His son got to keep the ball and meet Bradford.

The most painful was a loss on a field goal. One which was missed by the Giants' kicker but they were called for a false start and the kicker made the next one to win the game. I'll have to check back to see what year that was. |

The Gus Johnson Rule Lives. The last six weeks:
Jets-Lions, Overtime Bills-Chiefs, Overtime Bengals-Falcons-32-39 final, down to final few seconds Chiefs-Texans-Andre Johnson Game-Winning TD Catch Under 30 Secs Left to take lead Texans-Jaguars-Last Second 50 Yard Hail Mary Game-Winning TD! and today: Bills score 35 second half points to beat the bengals. Not bad. (BTW, anyone notice that the Thanksgiving Day game records are all palindromes? 12:30 8-2 Pats v 2-8 Lions 4:15 7-3 Saints v 3-7 Cowboys 8:20 8-2 Jets v 2-8 Bengals)

Not good for a competitive day of football. I guess Jets-Bengals could be close depending on which Sanchez shows up, but that Bengals defence is so bad I think anyone could hang 40 on them right now. It would take a horrible game from Brees for the much improved Cowboys to stay close and Pats - Lions could be a bloodbath.

This entire season has caused me to realize that I've almost entirely stopped caring about the NFL. Yesterday I got home in time to see the last hour of the 1pm games and turned on the TV to see the GB/MIN and PIT/OAK games. And neither network switched to better games despite both being over by the early 3rd quarter. I watched for 15-20 minutes, then turned off the TV. Flipped it back on about 4:30 and watched 10 minutes of the Colts/Pats, then helped with dinner, ate, and didn't even bother turning the game on despite sitting in the family room from 6 to 7. Watched 3 shows that we recorded rather than turn on the Eagles/Giants game, then played NCAA 11. I just don't give a shit about the NFL anymore. It's hard for me to grasp, but it is true. The Thanksgiving schedule compared to Friday's college schedule highlights why the NFL sucks so bad these days while college is so much more fun and exciting. Oregon/Arizona, Auburn/Alabama, and Boise/Nevada are the 3 marquee games - the top 3 teams in the country, all playing teams that could knock them out of BCS contention.
