Although with the title of this thread, maybe they should make a new show once Ted meets the mom... "How I Banged Your Mother".

I think they'll get one or more years with the mother, they just need to make her someone who has chemistry with the existing staff

Next year is likely the last year of the show though and I think Jason Segal has hinted he doesn't plan on staying past season 8 (when their current contracts end). We know he doesn't meet the mother until Barney's wedding which probably doesn't occur until sometime next season, possibly the finale. |

Have they said Barneys wedding is next season? It seems to me like it would be the end of this season. |

Also liked the "marshall and steph 4-eva" t-shirt. And that Barney was wearing the duckie tie at the casino.

Lilly isn't pregnant in it. In the story, she actually got pregnant in August or September 2011. I suppose they could go that route they did last season again. Have Lilly have the baby the 2nd to last episode of this season and then jump forward to to August/September 2012. |

I could have sworn they said in an interview that Barney's wedding wouldn't be until next season.

I though I read that Barney's wedding was the end of THIS season, allowing them to bracket the season on both ends with Barney's wedding (the season premiere showing a flash forward of it and then a building up to it).

I loved it when Ted re-licked the pans, and how they kept going back to the story (at least Robin did) in the middle of Barney, Marshall, and Lilly's betting.
Wonder if they'll actually keep Barney wearing the ducky tie all season long?

I really thought that Barney was going to make Marshall forgo his future slaps in order to call off the bet. That would have set up a great dilemma for Marshall and Lilly.

Roping BBT in for a second, Amy Farrah Fowler is probably my second favorite character in sitcom history (right behind Kevin Holloway from Charles in Charge). During this week's episode, Amy said a couple of things that made me laugh so hard, I almost choked on my dinner.

I was worried how they were going to work her into the show initially but it has paid off big time. Last night's show was great.

It is like having two Sheldon's. The best episodes pre-AFF are ones where Sheldon interacted with Penny the most. Now with AFF, you have Penny with Sheldon, or Penny with AFF. There is always a payoff there. Sadly, though, I have grown to hate Lennard. He is like Ross on Friends. They both started relate-able, but quickly became just way to whiny to root for. |

I disagree with you all. I hate AFF, I hate 6 divisions and I want it all to go back to the way it was when I was a happy little boy. I'm out of heeeere.

I liked him on House, and seeing him do this more-than-one-episode stint on HIMYM actually annoys me. He left House for some White House gig and now hes back? Boo-urns!

Gotta say, I'm surprised with how long they kept with the Duckie Tie.
And bringing back some slaps, awesome. |
