Everyone talks about Lidge, but Madson has had an equally worse drop off.

He's just not locating his fastball.

He's been getting bombed the past few games.

True, but Lidge's issues were constant all year long where Madson has been either unhittable or getting bombed. There seems to be no middle ground for him.

Truth is, our bullpen has not been as horrible as the media has made it out to be. But the loss of Chan Ho combined with the very public failures of Madson/Lidge have made it seem that way.

I'm going to keep an eye on the weather for Sunday. If it looks good I am driving out for Game 3.

Say it ain't so, bad weather in Philly, during the baseball playoffs.
Hopefully, it won't be cold and rainy, or some kind of 2 or 3 day delay.

That was a fun game to watch last night. That last homer by the Phillies was awesome. I didn't get to see a replay but the ball looked like it hit some Dodger fan right in the wrist before it fell away from him.

Crack!!

I was pleasantly surprised by Park last night, and I'm even more surprised by Pedro today. 2 more innings!

I'm only following online but got to be a pretty questionable decision to pull Pedro there after only throwing 87 pitches and allowing 2 hits, no?

Tie game, Utley missed Howard by about two yards on that throw.

I don't think it was that bad as Dobbs could have had a big hit to push the lead and I don't think Pedro's endurance is what it used to be.

The Phillies have a very good lineup with some top notch hitters in the middle. That said, I agree, the Yankees have the top lineup in baseball right now. And while the Angels and the Red Sox don't necessarily have a Howard in their lineup, their overall depth put them about the same level as the Phils, or at least last I checked. I'll admit, I haven't paid close enough attention to the Phillies to know for sure how the bottom end of their lineup has been doing.

Boston may not have Howard, but Youklis is just as good (if not better). I'd say the Phillies are slightly better on depth (for Boston, Varitek and Green were horrid... but Victor Martinez was very good - so I guess it depends who is used behind the plate).

The bottom of the Phillies lineup is Feliz (OPS+ of 80) and, believe it or not, Rollins (OPS+ of 85 with only 31 SB/8 CS).

Hmm, well, I think the Angels have a better lineup than Boston, so maybe that's a match, although it would have to be the lineup with Napoli in there; Mathis brings it all down (although he's a fine defensive catcher).

Angels scored more runs this year than the Red Sox. Iwould have to check but I think they might have ended up second in runs scored in all of baseball.

Such a weird NLCS so far. The Dodgers have to feel like the Phillies picked their pocket in Game 1, with Kershaw melting down and Sherrill actually getting scored on.

The Phillies have to feel like they gave one away after the Game 2 outcome.

So is this "Yeah, this is about right, even if the teams who won each game aren't the ones who should have - this series is going 7" or is this a case where both teams feel like they should be up 2-0 on their way to a 4-game or 5-game win?

First hit goes just off the end of Feliz's glove. If it's 3 inches more towards the line it's a ground out. Next batter comes up with the perfect bunt just past Park and Howard, 6 inches either way or any slower and it's a sacrifice bunt. Next batter hits what should be a routine double play ball and Utley goes all Steve Sax for the second game in a row.

I will say that Park is one of the best relievers on the team right now. Once he settled into the role he has been clutch, look at game one for a perfect example of that. If Madson could forget about the closer experiment and get back to his setup mentality I love the Phillies chances once they hit the 7th inning and have a healthy Park and Eyre.

Phillies got home-field advantage back, that's all that matters.

Take care of business at home and we won't be back in LA.

That was a rather stupid play. There is no chance that they get two on that play and the runner at second meant nothing. Get the sure out for out number two and focus on the next batter.

Yes. This seemed to be obvious to everyone except Izturis.

BTW, Earth to Fuentes. If you get two strikes on fastballs to ARod, do not flippin' throw another fastball--down the middle, no less--as the third pitch, brainiac.

Based on the umpire's early strike zone (a lot of wiggle up and down), I'm thinking Lee will be fine in this start.

The Giants have really old guys they call "balldudes". It can be funny to watch them fall down, but I'd rather have some girl in tight shorts.
