Just back from Baum Stadium. Washington State capitalized on a world record 7,582,188 fielding errors to win 10-7 and force a deciding game tomorrow.

Sigh.

I seriously think they could've just bunted every bat and the game would still be going on in the top of the 1st.

Unfortunately ASU toppled Hawaii 8-4, thus ending Hawaii's season, great great run at the end but not enough, good solid team though, and thats two years of very very good baseball by University of Hawaii. Good job boys

Fullerton continued to roll from their win over New Mexico earlier in the day, Minnesota will have to beat them Monday to get to move on to UCLA.

Texas bounced back nicely from their disaster in the Big 12 Championships to sweep their regional. Next up is a best 2 out of 3 against a tough TCU squad.

Coastal and Charleston are at it again. Coastal takes the lead 2-0 in the first, Charleston immediately ties it. Coastal scores 2 in the 3rd, Charleston scores at least 3 in the third with 1 out and men on 1st and third.

Charleston adds one more run to make it 6-4 heading into the fourth. Charleston has changed pitchers now and a freshman who's not pitched in the regionals yet is now playing. Coastal has also changed pitchers to their #1 starter who pitched so badly in the first game against Charleston.

Well the freshman had Coastal fooled for a couple innings before faltering, gave up a couple walks and a perfect bunt with no outs led to bases loaded...and then a grand slam!

Coastal can't manage to score any more runs despite no outs, and will now have to hold on again against a Charleston comeback. Coastal leads 8-6

Well here we go again, Coastal scores two in the top of the eighth to take the lead again. Worrisome that unlike yesterday's game, Charleston will have the last at-bats.

Yep you guessed it, we go to the ninth tied at ten. Coastal's #2 starter is now pitching-he went the full 9 innings in game 1.

Watching your game on cbssports.com. Bit of a slug-fest.

Our game tonight is at 7. Wife has a meeting that ends at 8, so we are going but just for the second half or so of the game. We played a pretty terrible game last night and were still right in it. Comparing our pitching staff situation to WSU's gives me quite a bit of comfort. Plus realizing that Cox and Eibner should be back in the lineup. That's great by itself, but the true key is that it allows us to have everyone playing at their primary position. Having those 2 out of the lineup means we have to move half the team around to secondary positions. Last night, this bit us square in the ass with about a brazillion errors.

And then a strikeout/wild pitch where the catcher couldn't find the ball leads to the bases loaded.

OMG an unbelievable play to end the inning, hit off the pitchers glove to the third baseman, and threw the guy out at first in a very close play. The Charleston coach went after the ump, and a policeman had to restrain him. He got thrown out-the third Charleston guy to be thrown out in this regional. Just a crazy, crazy game.

Coastal PBP guy just said that was the 3rd CoC person ejected in this series.

Their coach just got ejected for arguing a call that went against them that would've won the game. He was being restrained by a policeman and threw his arm away from him.

#7 Louisville is the first national seed to fall, losing to Vandy 3-2.
Earlier #5 UVA advanced with a 5-2 win over St. John's

Miami up 3-2 on TAMU in the 2nd inning, but rain has been problematic and they are currently on delay.

TAMU is in even worse pitching shape than yesterday, so I'm sure they'd love this one to be called off.

Another post-season, another GT flop.
'Bama wins 10-8 with 6 innings of two-run relief

Third straight year that Tech has been eliminated while hosting a regional.
Hopefully we can at least afford to get rid of Danny fucking Hall, sorry sonofabitch can't manage once the weather starts to get hot.

Clemson has eliminated regional host Auburn 13-7, so it'll be Clemson vs 'Bama in the superregional.

Awesome game 1 in the CSWS game. UCLA hits the go-ahead HR in the bottom of the 6th inning, Arizona takes the lead in top of the 7th inning, and then UCLA ties it up in the bottom of the 6th on two errors and a double. Bottom of the 8th inning, UCLA's star player hits a 2 out walkoff HR

Woot. Arkansas handles WSU very easily tonight, 7-2. On to Tempe to play Arizona State in the Super Regional. Going to be tough, but we can do it. We took 2 of 2 from the in a mid-week last season at Baum. It's a Sat-Mon SR so our staff can be rested for game 1.

Minnesota didn't have the bats to keep up with Fullerton, putting an end to what had been a fun run over the last few weeks. With a team that got much better as the season went on and brings most of its players back next year hopefully the can do something next year.

Coastal/South Carolina starts tomorrow at Coastal. Very interesting series. Coastal started out as part of the University of South Carolina system and broke away in the mid 1990's in fairly ugly fashion. Politics and the apparant mutual dislike between the baseball coaches of the two teams have prevented the schools from playing each other in any sport until recently when some of the smaller sports teams played each other. No baseball games since 2004.

And now South Carolina is all up at arms about how Coastal handled ticket sales for the regional, which is the same exact way Carolina would have handled them. So it should be a pretty intense and exciting regional (with Coastal hopefully winning)

TCU beats Texas 3-1 in the first game of the Super Regional. That TCU pitcher was the real deal, getting 11 Ks.

Coastal hanging tough after being down 4-0 early, but only getting one run with the bases loaded twice is not going to get it done. 4-3 Carolina in the 7th.

Make that three times, this time with no outs, relief pitcher comes in gets 2 K's and a ball batted back to him. *sigh*

Coastal got men on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs and just could not get any runs in. Sadly they deserved to lose after their bullpen kept them in the game after being down 4-0 after 2.

Texas laid the smackdown on TCU today, 14-1. Hopefully they didn't use everything up, and left some gas in the tank for the deciding game tomorrow.
