Interesting, while they're hot more often than not here, there's no sign of any salt on the ones here that I've ever noticed. One of the blandest starches i've ever tasted actually (which is part of my lukewarmness about them).

I'm with Jon on this one. I love just everything about CFA but their fries are just...nothing. There's no taste to em at all.

Yeah, my wife had to douse ours in salt. But then she put salt on the nuggets, too.

If the options are CFA or going hungry, I'll enjoy the hunger. Flavorless mush is not food.

Are you sure we're talking about the same place? One of the most distinctive flavors in the whole fast food niche there.

No flavor at all, just mealy, mushy garbage. I'll legitimately take every other fast food option over them without hesitation.

Am I remembering wrong or are you in northern VA? That's where I had my most recent not great experience with the waffle fries.

Yeah, depends on where I go. The one in Stone Mountain was pretty good. The one here in Roseville is good as well. But I've been to some while travelling that have been not very good. And yes, all of them will not add enough salt or way too much at times. It's been over a month since I've had them, but when we were going often, they were well made most of the time.

The waffle fries are good as long as they're just on the crispy side and you don't get any of the fat ones with that aren't full waffle, but are more wedges with waffle imprints. I literally switch those out with the good fries from my daughter's kids meal so I get max fry goodness.

I've had their chicken sandwiches twice and both times I thought they were pretty bad. Is there supposed to be a sauce or anything on top? I think mine just came with a couple pickles. They're always so crowded that I must be doing something wrong during the order process.

No, that's how they come out. Plain with pickles.

I had a spicy fried chicken sandwich, and "no flavor at all, just mealy, mushy garbage" would be almost the exact opposite of how I would describe it.

I love CFA, but I haven't eaten the regular sandwich or waffle fries since last year. I either get the grilled wrap or sandwich. Kills me.

Charlotte got a Shake Stack, & fortuitously I moved in 1/4 mile from it... Grabbed a double burger (no special sauce because I either smartly hate mayonnaise and all it's variants or I'm a baby back bitch who doesn't like any condiments other than ketchup), fries, and a shake.

I'd rate the burger above Five Guys (and I forgot to grab napkins for my to-do order, but it wasn't super messy which was another pleasant surprise!). The fries were nothing special, and they don't fill your bag with handfuls, which was disappointing at the time, albeit probably better for my waistline long-term. (Idk why places don't use the Bojangles "seasoning" a.k.a. pepper & more salt - so easy, so good.) The shake? It wasn't something I needed or generally want, and it pushed the price tag all the way up to $16, but it was probably the best shake I've ever had. Wish I had 2 pair of hands so I could give it 4 thumbs up.

Overall experience notes, the buzzer buzzed wayyy too early (I guess the cooks in back can buzz it in, but in a busy restaurant they're not facing the customer?), but the counter girl was cute & friendly, so I'll go 8/10.

it was already a thing but Chic-fil-a is officially launching their partnership with DoorDash to get CFA delivered to your door 6 days a week.

(basically equivalent service to UberEats or Grubhub, i do work for all 3)

I dig their Polynesian sauce. The waffle fries and nuggets are great with that. CFA is our go to fast food place. We try to avoid most others anymore save for the occasional McDonald's run because my small town has few coffee options.

Ah. I never use sauces anyway, but for some reason it caught my eye on the menu and neither me nor my wife had ever heard of it before.

The fries are pretty good but TBH, I don't go to CFA because of the fries. Its the Chicken sandwich & lemonade, then the soft serve ice cream and then maybe the fries.

Chick-fil-A’s top selling menu item isn’t chicken
Quote:
America’s favorite fast food chain has revealed its most popular item of the past year – and it’s not the Chicken Biscuit, which clocked in at number nine of the top 10 bestselling items.

Actually, it’s not chicken, at all.

Despite the chain’s cow mascots asking people to “Eat mor chikin,” it seems the restaurant’s most popular menu item are the Waffle Fries.

I don’t usually fly into Hartsfield on Sunday but as this was the first trip this year wanted to be there for Monday morning... definitely should have thought of posting in this thread. My routine is to grab CFA either at the terminal or on the way to the hotel, very disappointing when I realized what day it was.

And I agree... it’s all about the Chicken and the sauces. The fries aren’t bad but probably the least exciting thing on the menu IMO.

TBH, I prefer the fries over anything else on the menu. The Spicy Chicken sandwich is fine, but Wendy's Spicy Chicken is just so much better.

I've recently discovered the Chick-Fil-A sauce after being a Polynesian guy for my whole life. But I've been trying to cut down on sugar. I switched to Buffalo, but there is no subtlety of flavor there. Chick-Fil-A sauce is great.

That's for nuggets. When I get a sandwich, I usually put mayo on it and Texas Pete. That's a quality combo right there.

I do miss the waffle fries.

Why is this surprising? They have chicken 6 ways from Sunday, but what do you get with each of those ways? Fries...

Has Chick-Fil-A always been open on Christmas Day if Christmas does not fall on a Sunday?

There was definitely a line in the drive thru as I passed one yesterday morning. I did not investigate so maybe there was another reason for the line. It stood out as unusual though.

Chick-fil-A is entering the grocery business with bottles of its signature and Polynesian sauces.

Starting in April, the 16-ounce bottles will be sold in Florida at Publix, Target (TGT), Walmart and Winn-Dixie stores for around $3.49. It's the first time that Chick-fil-A will sell its products in retail stores.

This reminded me. We talked about owning Chick-Fil-A franchises in another thread, and I mentioned I knew a person that owned two even though that had long been taboo. Well, he is building a third. The new one is going to be near the Covington What-a-burger that is being built. The plan is to make it much bigger than the other two stores he owns. He fought tooth and nail for 15 years or more to get that second location, but now he is going to have three.

I saw that tweet about "tranny semen" and I'm just like, how or why the hell does anyone even think like that? And why is it always the most religious/conservative that automatically go to those kinds of places?

There was apparently a large problem with internet porno in my mid 90s religious college. Enough to have a dorm wide meeting. And while you'd think normal porn topics would be discussed, it was nothing like that. They had some fliers printed out with various porno type advertisements and every thing was like girl with horse, man with horse, horse with man and girl, etc. Some of the most over the top ridiculous types of porno were referenced. Whereas a hey, guys, stop looking at tiddies would have likely sufficed.

I don't know, other than "next thing you know, they'll be putting tranny semen in the frosted lemonade" was the gist of the tweet.

The Athens franchisee has three also (Beechwood,Barnett Shoals, Downtown)

Trivia: he's the man behind the introduction of milkshakes to the brand
