GREEN SEAFOOD CHILE 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 2 celery stalks 1 leek, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatillos 1 1/2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce 1/2 teaspoon salt 8 ounces bay scallops or small shrimp 6 ounces lump crabmeat, picked over to remove any cartilage Chopped cilantro 2 cups hot cooked rice Heat oil in a 4-quart saucepan over medium heat. Add celery, leek and garlic. Cook until tender, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes. Add cumin; cook 1 minute. Stir in tomatillos with their liquid, hot pepper sauce and salt. Heat to boiling over high heat. Reduce heat to low; cover. Simmer 15 minutes to blend flavors. Stir in scallops and crabmeat; heat to boiling. Cook 3 minutes or until seafood is tender. Serve over rice. Sprinkle chili with chopped cilantro. Makes 6 servings. ------------------------------------------------ Earlene Riser was picking through her crabmeat to make sure all the shells were out and didn't notice the arrival of the judges to her station. “Ahem” said the head judge after 30 seconds went by, but there was still no response – Earlene would never admit it, but her hearing had been going lately. Must have been all those Pantera concerts in her youth. The judge cleared his throat again. “A-HHHHEM. EARLENE!”. She looked up. “Oh, is it time to taste? I still need three minutes to finish the seafood! I'm so sorry!” “No, Earlene, it is not time to taste. We have determined you are the cheater.” Shocked, she jumped up. “I am NOT a cheater! There must be some mistake!” Alas, it fell on deaf ears (not hers). Earlene Riser, regular contestant, has been eliminated. NIGHT 2 ACTIONS DUE 10AM EASTERN TOMORROW.

Okay, we're in a bad way here. We have lost our seer and three good guys. I would guess there are at least two wolves, and if we assume all named competitors (in the rule) are in the game, then we have a "conspirator", too, in the Nosy Competitor. So we have to start doing some vote analysis here, and get to a consensus on finding a wolf.
I'll see what I can come up with.

That surely is a help. If it was the bodyguard, maybe they saw something. It would be very nice to cap off the week with a capture of a cheating wolf.

Of the 3 people gone...
Blade voted for Barkeep Dodgerchick voted for JE on day 1 and SnDvls on day 2 ITC voted for Dodgerchick Now CR did do the inital vote on Marathoner. If CR and Marathoner were wolves I doubt that they would've allowed this to happen because all that we would've needed is 1 more vote to seal Marathoner's fate. JE and Marathoner both voted for ITC on the first day. And they both voted for Dodgerchick on day two. Seems a little too obvious to me. |

Marathoner is really catching my eye. I don't like his reasoning behind his votes (didn't like ITC's name, needed a seafood chili [disgusting] recipe). And I don't like how he's claiming to be the bodyguard. He was also the deciding vote in DC getting lynched.
The only thing that keeps me from pulling the trigger on him now is the timing of his vote against ITC. It would have been easier to vote for someone else since it was clear that ITC was going down. Then again, I went after DC for doing that exact same thing and I was wrong there, so maybe I'm wrong here as well. |

No, I was implying that the wolves don't need to kill the villagers, I am doing a good job at that by voting them off. Last edited by Marathoner : 02-16-2007 at 03:05 PM. Reason: elaboration |

I read the same thing that JE did into that post Marathoner. It seemed to blatently imply that you were responsible for there being no kill last night.

So why would one want to imply they are the bodyguard? So people would actually thing he was lying and was trying to hide his wolf status. Like I said before Marathoner and JE are the only two that have consistanly voted for the people lynched.

I think voting out the seer on day 1 was a stroke of luck for the wolves. If there is no cheating going on there is no way one could know. Once this happened it made complete sense for the wolves to go after blade, he was the most experienced left. If I were a wolf, I'd keep picking of the most experienced players, especially now that the seer is gone.

Also a question for path, when do the wolves learn who are wolves? At the start of the game or after the first vote?

I have three on my watch list. Marathoner, ntndeacon and SnDvls.
Marathoner-- while it has been suggested that he isn't a wolf because his vote on IMTC was a throwaway, his reasoning just sounded corny, and it's not a bad play as a wolf to toss your name there. Then on Day Two, he ended up waiting until he put the noose around DC's head. The late votes to see what develops is also a wolfish behavior. Ntndeacon-- He was actually the deciding vote in the ImTheCrew run. He put him ahead at the time and for good. He also forced a tie on Day Two by voting SnDvls up to even with me. Of course, that loses some weight when you consider I am not a wolf. If you think I am a wolf, though, ntndeacon should be high ony our list because he stopped a potential pile on on me. SnDvls-- He put the second vote on Dodgerchick, and then was part of the IMTC pile on, so that leaves him as suspicious in my mind. I don't draw any conclusions yet from him voting for ntndeacon early except that they almost certainly not both wolves. General comments on others: MollyMurphy-- way too quiet. Could just be newbie-ish behavior, but it still comes on suspicious. And she voted for me, too. Bsak-- Also a newbie, but bsak has been making noise. I don't get a wolfish sense from him right now. Barkeep-- His early Day One vote on Blade could be construed as a clever wolf tactic to get his vote out there, as most wolves will wait a bit to see how a vote develops before committing themselves. He also switched to become the critical second vote on IMTC, but that is decidedly more wolfish in a run. It seems unlikely that Barkeep (especially with his experience) would pull an obvious-seeming wolf move and a good non-wolf move in the same stretch, so I lean to giving him the benefit of the doubt as just another good villager shooting in the dark. JE-- As noted (and like Marathoner), JE did vote for both lynchees. But I don't get a wolf vibe off of him just yet. He needs to bear watching, but nothing I have seen would move me off of some of the higher ups to him right now.

BTW, it seems clear to me that what happened last night was the bodyguard protected the targeted chili but didn't see the perpetrator. In a small game with so few people and at least two wolves (I can't see just one for this game, too unbalanced), I don't see a conversion ability. Plus, none is hinted at int he rules.
There is a 50% chance the BG wouldn't see the cheater, though, but still protect the chili. I think that's what happened. And since the BG can't protect the same bowl two nights in a row, that target could be the wolves target again tonight, to ensure they get one of us out. Running into the BG was the first stroke of bad luck for the wolves this game. Interesting side note: should the BG come out? The BG knows he is good and knows whose chili he protected that night. That person is also certainly not a wolf. That's a circle of trust of two, with two days of voting patterns to sort through. A reveal right now could help us pin down the wolves, but it also may be a day too soon.

Sorry, BK, what was your logic again? I seem to remember you thought I was experienced to pull a set up off from Blade being removed on Night One. Was that it? Just want to be sure, so I can counter it if need be. A vote for me doesn't help us right now (nor do I think a vote on you helps either).

I also wonder about SnDvls. His quick vote for Dodgerchick, retraction and then joining the pile on of ITC (although wasn't the deciding vote) is sort of suspicious. Going with my previous logic he is continuing to go after experienced players, ntn.

Marathoner cast the last vote on day one and day two. Also, the day two vote sealed DC's fate. The comment about the Bodyguard (#214) seems like a ploy to out the Bodyguard. Seems fishy to me, and no, I am not talking about DC's chili. SnDvls statements make it clear to me that he is not a wolf, and Marathoner's second vote on him today forced him to say things he may not have said otherwise.

I was pretty much screwed yesterday on who to vote for. either Iam the nail in Chiefs coffin or I tie it up with at least one more to vote and some time to spare. I would like to claim that I had realized that it wouldn't be a tie cuz of the tiebreaking rule, but I only found that out later that day when rereading the rules, and the earlier posts. |

There are few easy choices here. In the end I decided to...
VOTE MARATHONER Voting for him two days in a row lends one to believe that I am particularly convinced he is guilty. That would be wrong; I am not convinced at all. But I don't see enough to move me off to someone else right now. And, yes, I realize this make a three way tie again. I guess we'll see if this shakes things up with one vote to go.

In defense of my voting patterns. Looking back objectively I would agree my voting patterns are wolf-like. I had the last vote both days and the deciding vote on a villager, to obvious I think. I might as well wear an apron that says 'Kiss the Wolf' and walk around the chili cookoff. I don't think a wolf, or at least a good one, would be as obvious as I have been.

Thoughts about the weekend? We could run night until noon tomorrow and then run day 4 through Sunday at 10PM Eastern, or if you guys would rather wait until next week that can be arranged also.....
