"Kicking and flags" is actually the title of the book I'm writing about this game. There's a handsome picture of me smoking a pipe on the book jacket.

They say Flacco is a good QB on the cusp of being elite, but I am not buying it. Also, Maurice Jones Drew is made of butter.

+1. Flacco is an over-hyped average qb. The guys he succeeded make him look better than he is.

Any game in the Lingerie Football League has a better brand of football than this.

I'm watching this because I have a morbid fascination with train wrecks. I'm rubbernecking the NFL right now.

The NFL needs to go to a Chase for the Cup format this season, just cut the bottom 16 teams out of the second half of the season and move on. Holy crap there have been some terrible games so far.

The sad thing is, that piece of turd probably got 4 times the number of viewers as game 5 of the WS tied 2-2 into the 8th.

Really? That's surprising. I mean, it shouldn't be surprising given the matchup, let alone the actual game, but I thought NFL football ruled all.

I suspect it's a case of Atlanta not being in line with the national numbers overall (which is often the case) but the WS didn't have a great night here.

WS avg 2.7 rtg, mostly on the strength of a strong finish after 10p.

Other, the game:
-- Got killed by ABC (DWTS 4.9 and lost to Castle 3.4)
-- Lost to CBS about half the night (HIMYM 2.4 vs 2.35 h2h, got killed by 2.5 Men 3.7 to 2.15, easily beat 2 Broke and M&M, fended off [i]Hawaii 5-0[i/]
-- Hell, even NBC managed a draw from 9p-930p with the first half of Sing Off.

I read that it was still the lowest rated game 5 in history, even if it beat the NFL.

Dolphins continuing their implosion: they signed JP Losman to be backup QB.

Also, they are asking about Cowher. Same thing as earlier this year trying to get Harbaugh ... while they already have a coach.

And poor Sparano.
cbssports:
Quote:
In that game, Sparano was caught by television cameras pleading to game officials to review a touchdown just scored by the Broncos.

"If I don't call a timeout, I'm [sunk] and now I'm getting fired, OK?" he yelled while pointing toward Ross' owner's box.

Thinking about last Sunday night, I just realized that that was the first 62-7 game in the NFL since Dan Marino's last game. Now Curtis Painter gets to be the most recent starting quarterback in a 62-7 loss. It doesn't really mean anything. It just occurred to me.
