Was thinking about getting into the perfect team feature. Is there a good post somewhere that goes through the process?

Not that I saw here but I was able to stumble through it. Others know a lot more than I but feel free to throw some questions out.

I love it. I don't even pay the regular game any more.

Just sign up. Open your free packs and go from there. You will figure it out. The Perfect draft tournaments I enjoy.

You can play for free and enjoy it if that is something you'd like to do. There are a couple of communities that will help you.

I joined the BFF group when 22 dropped. I was spamming bronze tourneys and opening 15-20 free packs per day on average. I wasn't really focused on my main PT team, just spamming tourneys and it was fun for a couple of months, but it burned me out.

There are some guys in the group who are in the top tier leagues and they haven't spent a dollar.

I've built up my team a bit buying some bargain silver (and a few gold) players. I'm currently in 2nd in the entry tournament after about 30 games. Right now I have 2 gold, 15 silver & 20 bronze (+10 below 60). Any advice?

RIP to one of the worst contracts in OOTP history (Miggy Cabrera remains - only four more years of $30M+ remain for him).

Been grinding perfect points to get a monster card but I just blew most of them to complete the NYM Franchise heros David Wright perfect card since he is my all time favorite player.

I think that is half the fun of the game

Yeah, if you're not going to spend the money to be a whale -- and especially if you're going F2P -- you have to have those little successes. Beating people who HAVE spent money, building a team in a certain style (all defense, all walk and eye batters to wear down the opposition, all favorite players, etc.), enjoying the card trading aspect, or whatever. There's still something there if you want to have some fun but not pay a ton.

Yeah, I haven't put any money in but I'm winning a bunch of packs in Bronze tourneys and trying to complete as many missions as I can. As of right now, I have 20 diamond cards (including two 99s in Mark Langston & Hack Wilson from completing missions) and around 70 golds. I may also start looking at some silver tourneys when I get a chance to setup a good lineup.

My perfect team is rolling through the playoffs in my rookie league. I've only added about 10 of my diamond cards as I wanted to get some of the point bonuses for season records. I'm currently 5-1 in the playoffs with a total run differential of +51 (63-12).

I'm tempted to sell a diamond I got (3B Red Smith - 93 rating). He's only in one mission (Pete Rose Diamond one) and his current auction rate is $55K. I could complete a ton of diamond missions and even buy a better 3B (ie, Bobby Witt Jr - 97) for about 1/5 that price.

Over the course of the year, I've opened a ton of packs and only had TWO Negro League players. About a week ago, I was opening a few packs from completing build-a-legend missions and got TWO Negro League cards -- the exact same two cards I already have.

I decided to not sell a card unless it's a duplicate. I save myself a lot of consternation that way when I would have sold a card and then find out a new mission needs the card I just sold.

Maybe someone can help. I pulled a card from a pack today. It was a 99. Limited edition Larry Dierker. 4 of 25. Card was kind of a hologram. Never seen anything like this.

There's certainly a power creep in the card values over the year. There are 100 rated cards that can't hold a candle to other 100 rated cards. You can tell that by some of those Perfect Drafts where the first round is jaw-droppingly better than any 100 player I have on my team.

Anyone try these new daily perfect draft all perfecto? Pretty fun every round of the draft ar perfect cards. I just did my first one and I will probably get murdered because I didn't think much about the strategy. I did take a lot of starters and use them as relievers. I took OF too early and ended up having to pass on Junior Griffey in the 11th round.

First place is a perfect pack. Excited to see how it plays out.

I just let it ride this season but for next year's Perfect Team, I'm going to make sure I get in a no-spend league. I'm a terrible manager but I'd like to get a better gage of how bad I am on a level playing field.

Yeah, a league where you don't purchase extra Perfect Points with real money. I'm not sure how it's policed, if at all. You can still auction players, buy packs with PP you gain "naturally", etc.

That's how I play as well. I sit on the Twitch streams to get free packs, then buy cards that I like with a combination of mission rewards, achievement awards, and PPs from card sells.

I have zero desire to play the GM version but absolutely love Perfect Draft and I have not spent a dime outside the initial game. I still get a lot of enjoyment out of it and there are enough tiers and tournaments that you don't have to spend any money.
