Hmm ... don't some of the college baseball conferences also have automatic bids & full-conference participation in their conference tournament?

Nice play by Florida to force that turnover. This has been entertaining even if it isn't as competive as I thought/hoped it would be.

I dunno- it seems as if the worst thing to happen to Ohio State was that kickoff return to start the game. It got them thinking they were just a bit better than they were...

You know, if these nimble QBs wants to dance around behind the line of scrimmage (or take off with it), at least team them not to hold the ball like it's a loaf a bread.

Go Gators.

It ain't over til it's over though. there have been plenty of bowl games that looked like this at the half that turned around in the second.

That being said, Heisman-boy needs to FedEx that trophy to Calvin Johnson or whoever.

Heh... this is a fun result so far. I just like all the people saying "Game" after Ginn's TD . I'm no SEC homer (I'm sure most people around here know that), but I thought that those saying OSU was going to roll had no idea what they were talking about. Though I never expected this...

Though I wonder... if Florida wins are we going to ressurrect that Skydog thread laughing at Urban Meyer again?

I know you're a college bball regular season hater - but this really is an oversimplification... especially if you're smart and follow a quality mid-major conference, instead of the crappy ACC ...

He is right technically. In the mid-majors at least, you can lose every game up until your conference tournament and go to the NCAA tournament. Now, I'm sure we realize the feasibility of this, but it's definitely true in at least the mid-majors and i think some of the majors too.

Yeah, if this game stays the way it has been going, I don't see many voters trying to put BSU up there.

Like I said somewhere earlier, even those that don't want a playoff, I have to imagine they think this big of a layoff is just silly.

I think they should at least work on a way to lessen this layoff, but it's hard when they just keep adding bowl games.

Sorry to continue the threadjack. There is one league where I know this ins't possible. I think VPI should become a fan of the Ivy League and the 14 Game Tournament. Regular Season champ gets the bid.

The Big Ten hurt themselves in two ways. If that Michigan vs Ohio State game happens a few weeks later, Florida doesn't jump Michigan because the poll after the UM/tOSU game had UM #2. Two weeks and games later Florida jumps UM.

By ending the season before thanksgiving also makes Ohio State wait 51 days to play the title game. Maybe they should give the teams a bye week and end the conference season a week later.
