Rough half for Brady. I think they'll going to have to go with quick outs or slants in the 2nd half.

Great game so far. Though I have a feeling I will be feeling real bad for the Giants defense at the end. I hope not, I find myself rooting for them even though everytime the Packer game is brought up I get pissed.

BTW, am I the only one who is getting a bunch of on screen text during commercials and FOX promos that run off the edge? Mainly the left edge.

I have a 53" widescreen TV, and it doesn't matter what aspect I put the TV on it is happening. Kind of bugs me.

Is this board more dead than usual for a Super Bowl, or is this about the norm?

It usually is pretty dead around here when something big is going on, whether that something is a holiday or a game.

God, they dusted off the Tom Petty and heartbreakers SB show? I like Petty but come on he is 57 and has had like two albums in the last decade.

Just wait till after the game. There's usually more post-game posts than game-time posts.

Maybe this will be like that NE/Carolina game where there was nothing and then tons of points.

Hopefully Tom Petty doesn't show his nipples though.

This is not good to my eyes. The Pats have been able to do what they wanted all year because of the protection, and that's just not happening yet.

I'd just like to say that my local FOX affiliate JUST NOW came back on the air. Everyone in this area with DISH network or Direct TV just missed the entire first half of the Super Bowl. Apparently, the people with cable were able to see it.

What a fucking joke.

Anyhoo, good first half from a competitive standpoint. If the Giants can keep up the pass rush, they just may hang in there. The Patriots "bend, but don't break" defense is doing just that.

The commercials just get less funny every year. Maybe that's just me getting older and less entertained by thoughtless sight-gags. I always thought most that I've met that were in marketing were out of touch...these ads confirm it.

The wassup guys? The frogs? Those were all shit, too, in retrospect. Mencia? Yuck.

Seriously? I assume you are talking about the Ben Watson call. He had both hands on Pierce's shoulder pads. Isn't that pretty much the text book example of of the "as long as his hands are inside, he's OK...once they get outside (on the shoulders), they'll call the hold". I was shocked Aikman or Buck didn't say it. Announcers love that.

I also thought the play with Moss on the sideline, covered by Dockery was a little odd. They both clearly came down in bounds, yet the clock was stopped and he was ruled out of bounds.

But, I won $100 in the office block pool so far (I have Pats with an '0' and Giants with a '3'). Was pulling for a NE FG for another $250 for the half.

I think he'll hit Moss or Stallworth deep at least once in the second half. The Giants were getting there just in time on a few plays.

Just highlighting the "this area" part, since we were fine here in GA.

Oops. I can just see people scrambling for rabbit ears

We had an amber alert in KC. Got a couple of emergency alert system complete screen blank outs and a couple more scrolling and half screen things (think NCAA tourney) but that's understandable

SPRINGDALE, Ark. -- Thousands of football fans in northwest Arkansas and far eastern Oklahoma have no idea what's happening in Super Bowl XLII on Sunday.

According to the KSTA-TV Web site, Super Bowl coverage on FOX 24 has been off the air since 3 p.m. Hundreds of viewers have called 40/29 News with questions and comments about the outage.

KHBS/KHOG is an ABC affiliate.

A statement posted to nwahomepage.com reads: "Due to a technical difficulty, the air signal and some satellite services are not receiving and broadcasting the Super Bowl on Fox."

Customers of DirecTV can watch channel 700 temporarily to watch the Super Bowl. There was no word whether Dish Network customers could see the Super Bowl as of 6:30 p.m.

If this had happened in a major market...

My wife just asked why they don't have the Arizona and ASU bands playing.

I'm sure that won't appear in any cable company ads around there over the next 5 years.

Halftime show was so-so, but the audio mix was one of the best I've heard for this type of "band at football game" event. I could actually hear all the instruments as well as the vocals.

As I said a month ago, the New England OL are the real MVPs of the league. Brady is like every other QB in the world. He won't have a 130 QB rating without plenty of time to throw.

The New York DL is playing out of their minds and the blitzes in the first half were nearly perfect.

So it looked good in the first half but the blitzes will get beat at some point.

not really tho, I mean weren't they the best Dline in the league this year as far as pressure and sacks go?

Anyone else think there are going to be people bitching about the salesgenie.com adds?

I just think someone super sensative is going to take offense to accents.

That's true. I guess "out of their minds" isn't quite right. But as great as they are I have never seen their whole line play like this all at the same time. Tuck has played by far the best game I've seen from him.

And, as I mentioned, the blitzes have all been perfectly called. So even when the Pats' OL stuffs the DL up front there's still been pressure.

Well now, this is interesting, is that a challengeable play?
