Interception by SC on a bad throw, good return, they'll be first & goal.

Maybe Tennessee & LSU could work out a trade, sort of like swapping long relievers with ERA's of around 6.37? And South Carolina might be willing to make it a three way swap, after watching their QB fumbled the snap on 3rd & goal at the 1 yd line (even if he did recover his own fumble).

Tennessee gets a 72 yd pick six from Eric Berry to go up 20-3 in the 4th. That gives Berry 397 career interception return yards, a new SEC record.
Scouth Carolina gets a questionable TD (in? not in?) on 4th & goal from the 1 to go up 17-10 over LSU late in the 1st half. And VaTech gets a 55 yd pick six to pull back within 21-17 just before halftime.

And in other news, Missouri gets a FG to start their comeback. 35-3 Texas at the half.

32 yd INT return by Demetrius Morley for another TD, Vols leads 27-3.
And BC gets a quick score to go back up by two scores, 28-17 less than 1 min left in the first half.

We are getting our asses handed to us, but what an awful pass interference call when it was 14-0 and we actually started to put a drive together.
Texas is damn good though... oh and our defense is horrible.. |

Tennessee tacks on another score with a fairly short but steady drive on the ground. 34-3 with about two minutes left.

Good grief, wish I had noticed this game earlier (and had seen the first quarter).
4 minutes to go, it's 63-35 Tulsa over UTEP, it was 28-28 at the end of the first. edit to add: My bad. That was 4 minutes left in the third quarter, now 70-35. The game is on CBSCS by the way.

Tulsa goes for it on 4th down from the 3, gets a procedure call, goes for it again from the 8 and scores. 77-35 with 8:51 left. First one I didn't have a problem with, after the false start though ... well, seems like overdoing it a little bit to me. They've got the full 2nd unit in there but maybe that was time to get the backup kicker some live action instead.

Well now, the LSU defensive coordinators come back from halftime and coach their best half of football all year. Small step in the right direction, will be interesting to see what we can do at home against UGA.

....Do I even want to know how the fuck we blew a 20-7 lead with under 10 minutes to go and lost 21-20?

I'm going to take a wild guess & figure you mean Arkansas v Kentucky. And it was actually a 20-7 lead with under 5 minutes to go. 4th quarter possessions for Arkansas Start UK 48 - 5 plays 11 yards: Punt Start AR 41 - 1 play 0 yard: Fumble Start AR 17 - 3 plays -5 yards: Punt Start AR 13 - 4 plays -8 yards: Interception Meanwhile UK scores in 0:41 (2 plays 41 yards) & 0:29 (2 plays 35 yards).

Actually the 4th quarter INT was on 4th & 18 from his own 5 after they trailed. The killing blows look like a D'Anthony Curtis fumble at his own 41 and then the 3-and-out followed by a 37 yd punt that gave UK the ball in Arkansas territory to start the game-winning drive. 'Course letting Hartline go 4-4 for 76 yds & 2 TD's in the final 4:47 didn't help matters either.

There's a good game on Fox Sports right now. Arizona leads Cal 35-27 late in the 3rd quarter.
And on the Mountain Network, UNLV leads Air Force 28-26, early in the 4th quarter. Last edited by Vegas Vic : 10-19-2008 at 12:38 AM. |

GT's win today makes them 6-1 for the first time since 1999. They finished 8-4.
The last 6-1 start before that was 1990.

Given the rest of their schedule I don't think 8-4 would be bad at all. I mean, Virginia, FSU, Miami and hell maybe North Carolina are so jekyl and hyde that perhaps an optimist could see 9-3 or even 10-2, but I would really be thrilled to have this team go 8-4. |

yy This game was the first all year where PSU had their backs against the wall a little bit. Important to see them rebound a little bit when the opposing team doesn't roll over and die in the 1st quarter and puts up resistance. Hopefully, this (combined with tOSU's throttling of MSU) will serve as the effective wake-up call for next week. Last edited by RedKingGold : 10-19-2008 at 09:46 AM. |

So a bunch of folks from the DFW chapter of the UTEP Alumni Association made the trip up to Tulsa. God, the ride home after the game had to have been miserable for them...

You know, you'd think we would be upset by things like this, but honestly, we're used to it. On a side note, I have Maryland season tickets, so I was at the game yesterday. It was freaking quiet. The band wasn't playing as much as it usually does, there wasn't as much noise coming from the student section. Just felt like the energy wasn't there. For now, I'm blaming it on the noon games, but I can attest that the EMU game was a lot more...noisy than the Wake Forest game, though I think they were both noon kickoffs. /tk

Well, I wouldn't say that Texas "destroyed" Oklahoma, but I do think the argument he makes is bogus. It always seems when a group of teams have great offenses its attributed to bad defense. When teams have bad offenses (SEC), it's always great defense. Big 12 has great offenses this season almost across the board, so he better get used to high scores. |

I think I've got a nominee for the Pontiac Game-Changing performance this week: A really nice hit by the Ref on the South Carolina QB. It's rare that you see an official step up and make a big play like this.
