How could they play worse than 35 yards in the half?

Ummmmm. . . . Jacksonville decided they didn't really need to cover Macklin. Seems like that was a pretty poor idea.

Hopefully we won't find out. But I'd say at the least, more turnovers.

Couldn't stop the pass rush, couldn't stop the run.

Lots to work on.

Matt Ryan - 31-42, 448 yards, 3 TD, 0 turnovers, 1 sack, 15 yards rushing.

If the Falcons win, I think it is safe to say he will be your NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Maybe I've mellowed, or maybe it is a combination of Kelly's offense and it being Jacksonville, but I never really got too riled up or fretful about this game. I know that's easy to say now, but I just kind of shrugged it off.

I was actually more involved in the WAS/HOU game (I even said to my wife that I'm about more concerned with seeing WAS lose as I am PHI win. Function of being in the WAS media sphere for so long I guess). Which was...well, pretty boring. I was pretty surprised that RGIII's completion percentage was really good until the end, but there were just no yards. It was like watching the Mark Brunell teams.

Oh - and the Fox studio is cracking me up. Five huge Surface ads, and it's pretty obvious none of the crew are using them. They're just propped up, all obnoxiously blue and in your face.

Ugly game in Kansas City. Jason McCourty had two INTs and just broke up a pass that resulted in another.

Yeah, the win would've been great but at least Cleveland made it interesting instead of lying down like they too often do.

Quick takes from CAR/TB:

1. Man, do I love those light blue jerseys.
2. That one TB cheerleader has some substance to her.
3. So does Mike Tolbert.
4. Kelvin Benjamin's player pic might have been more feminine than the Serena Williams I saw earlier.

Tale of two losing QBs

Hoyer- 19-31 230 yards 1TD 94.8 rtg

Griffin III - 29-37 267 yards 0TD 96. 7 rtg

I get the feeling reading some early commentary, Washington would rather Hoyer start next week instead of Griffin if given the choice.

Is it San Francisco day in Dallas today? The crowd looks like it's a home game for the 49ers.

Can someone explain how that was not a penalty for a shot to the head on the pass to Bolden?

But Anderson is somehow 8/10 for 60 yards. Alert the media!

Really nice, long drive for Carolina, including a Riverboat Ron appearance, QB sneak on 4th and 1 from the 6. 9 minute TD Drive.

Romo and Cutler are just awful QB's. Those teams will never win with them making horrible decisions every season.

FOFC reporting TroyF out with an inebriated cerebrum. Return is questionable.

A little late, but Yay Falcons!

Offense looked really good today. Not sure if that is an indication of how good the offense is or how bad the Saints Defense is.

I actually liked the defense today better than last year. The Saints scored a bunch, but I kind of expected that. I still think the Falcons will have to win with their offense this year, but hopefully winning a key game against a tough opponent to start the season is a good sign of improvement on last year.
