Why is this game being played again? Florida gov Rick Scott already declared UCF national champions and he's one of those stable geniuses that I've been hearing about.

That was my take.

Hurts back in, I guess. In that case, why throw away a possession?

Nevermind. Hurts not in.

Me too. I think a little too quick to swap him out (but I'm no Saban).

But that was a nice run !!

That TD pretty much evens out the bad calls (and, yes, that missed facemask was a pretty bad miss)

Blowing a double digit 2nd half lead in a championship game is a state tradition in Georgia.

WR on the near side should have been called for a false start on that TD.

edit: seriously, rewind it and slow-mo it on the DVR.

Just painful watching this happen. Everyone from the coaches to the players absolutely shrank under the pressure in the fourth quarter. Really lost it on those two conservative possessions and then was just asking Fromm to do too much to come back out cold after not throwing a pass in however many minutes and try to lead a game winning drive.

I hate playing for FGs in that situation for that reason. Especially in college.

Saban outsmarted himself by putting the ball in the middle & removing the margin for error.

Couldn't imagine a more undeserving team in a game they didn't deserve to win.

But thanks for beating UGA.

Saban puts a freshman QB who has only played in garbage time in the second half of the national championship, and they win it.

Unbelievable. That's what you can do when you're coach for life.

It's also what you can do when you have 5* up an down your roster. Plug & play.

Helluva throw, perfect read, perfect execution.

We might have to consider what the odds of that playcall actually working were at some point buuuuut ... not tonight.

Thank you to all involved.

Freshman QB who hadn't played in a game that ended closer than 18 points.
Freshman WR who only caught 7 passes all season.

Unreal.

Oh, and while I'm noting stuff ... pretty f'n brutal to force Hurts into a post-game interview.

ESPN wasn't the only one, another reported was waiting their turn right behind them but ... damn, he's either 19 or 20 years old, that's a helluva thing to be asked to graceful during. Good on him for doing so.

Agreed. And no matter what you think of them, Hurts and Tua BOTH exemplified class and grace. Congrats young men. Enjoy.

Oh absolutely, both were fantastic in the postgame. I've even see a cpl fans of {cough} the other team talking them up afterwards.
