Talk about a trip down memory lane... In the Where Are They Now category: Eugene "Mean Gene" Okerlund (born November 29, 1942)[2] is a semi-retired American professional wrestling interviewer and announcer. He is best known for his work in the World Wrestling Federation. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006 by Hulk Hogan. He is currently signed to lifetime employment with the WWE and works for promotional programs mostly for television shows on WWE Classics On Demand and occasionally makes special appearances. Randall Mario Poffo (born November 15, 1952),[4] better known by his ring name "Macho Man" Randy Savage, is a former American professional wrestler and actor best known for his time with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He also had a short run with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). Savage held twenty championships during his professional wrestling career and is a ten-time world champion: a two-time WWF Champion,[5] four-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion,[6] one-time USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion,[7] and three-time ICW World Heavyweight Champion.[8] Also a one-time WWF Intercontinental Champion, WWE has named Savage the greatest Intercontinental champion of all time and credited him for bringing "a higher level of credibility to the title through his amazing in-ring performances."[9] Aside from championships, Savage is the 1987 WWF King of the Ring and the 1995 WCW World War 3 winner. For much of his tenures in the WWF and WCW, he was managed by his real life wife, "Miss Elizabeth" Hulette.[4] Savage was recognizable by wrestling fans for his distinctively deep and raspy voice, his ring attire (often comprising sunglasses, a bandana or head band, flashy robes, and a cowboy hat), intensity exhibited in and out of the ring, and his signature catch phrase ("Ooh yeah!").[4] WWE has said of Savage: "There has never been a Superstar more colorful than "Macho Man" Randy Savage. His style—perfectly punctuated by his entrance music, "Pomp and Circumstance"—has only been outshined by his performance in the ring |

In this case Vimeo instead of YouTube but I think the spirit of the thread remains intact. It's a time lapse of the design & construction of a Lego "Like Light", which notifies the user each time their FB page gets a new like.

Little shit. I was a monstrous kid(now I'm a monstrous adult) and I always had to deal with the pipsqueaks doing shit like that to be funny. You know, smallest kid in class picking fight with biggest kid, hilarious.
It put me in a tough situation where they deserved a beat down(or even a quick ending), but I was twice their size and was only being really annoyed. Potential negative fallout. /vent Edit: Granted in my case they were trying to be funny, that kid was just an idiot. Last edited by jeff061 : 03-14-2011 at 04:58 PM. |

my 14 yo son has been taking drumming lessons for two years now and yesterday, the day he turned 14, he played his second song live. It's aGlee mashup of Halo and Walking on Sunshine. It's all interpreted by kids from his music school but they don't usually practice as a band. As a dad, I was extremely proud of him. Please don't be too critical.
I didn't catch it when we saw it live but once back to his seat, he told us he'd missed a beat. I can see it now. Let's see if you can find it Here's his first song he played, in last year's show. A cover of Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns 'N Roses: He was kinda mad at himself for goofing up in the middle. We told him then to not let it show and just keep on playing, which he did this year. FM

He did well FM, imo. His singers, well .. they knew the words I guess .
But, your 'little drummer boy' sounded pretty good. I'm a 'criticizer' by nature, so I'll toss up little (even though u specifically asked otherwise haha). Life's too short to be that serious, have more fun with it . |

Yeah, I thought he did a good job there. The, uh "singing" was pretty distracting though.

thanks. The singers... well... If you search for the song on youtube, you'll see that it ends on a pretty high note from the lady singer with a nice close on drum banging. Instead of that, their version here ends on an abrupt note and that's it. I quickly realized that the lady singer just couldn't hit the note. And that's not saying anything about the pianist/keyboard player that munched up the very beginning of the song. It's one of those song that starts with some keyboard, then some voice, then the drum kicks in, as you can see. Didn't help that this was the very first song of the night and the keyboard muffed some 2-3 notes before getting it right. I asked my son if the keyboard player was always like that in the two times they practiced together or if he was simply nervous last night and he simply replied "pretty much always like that, yeah". I know they're kids and all, but that could have been better. Anyway, as I said, we're really proud of him. FM

Great stuff, FM.
Musicians impress the hell out of me for the simple fact that they can remember an entire song. Forget the rest of the "mystery" of how they manage to play their instruments...I can't even remember all the notes to the opening lick to Crazy Train!!! THE OPENING LICK!!! Pulled out the guitar for the first time in probably 5 years because my little girls were putting on a singing concert in the living room and I figured they'd get a kick out of having daddy strum a few chords while they serenaded me. Do you think I could even remember a single chord?!?! I mean I used to play pretty regularly for a 5-year period about 15 years ago and I would've thought it was like riding a bike...NOPE! The girls didn't care, of course, but frig me, I'M LOSING IT!!! |
