I think you can inspect yourself as doctor Julio. That would be hilarious actually. Perhaps unprecedented ion spawn.

Even funnier if you were a spawn and blew yourself up.

Abe I think you really have to take some trips to the places you are considering to be sure. Maybe they'd fly you out. (altho doubt it). But if you are screaming to get out of where you are, then you may as well just go for it.

Still catching up, but this was my concern as well - rank hierarchy, who succeeds JAG.

We could get rid of JAG via Mutiny later without having to have him blow himself up today if we are worried about him being infected.

Anyway, going to finish reading remaining posts and then see what else is left to say on this.

Yeah, that is the "trouble" with this game - it starts off slow as everyone is a bit overwhelmed with choices.

By mid-game people left are usually making well-informed decisions (if not perfect ones) and it is super fun.

Then we don't play the next spawn for 18 months and everyone is dumb on Day 1/2 all over again

Okay, here we go:

Palmer - Pluses - I like the more mainstream nature of the school, American Baptist school (which is what I am), awards Master in Theological Studies rather than just a Master of Arts - which sounds cooler and looks better on a resume, concentration not required, but I would do this one likely - Biblical Studies and Theology. Less bible classes and more theology classes. Encouraged by Director of Admissions to apply for scholarships. Probably easier to get to magic and heroclix store for tournaments on the train to Bryn Mawr where the nearest store is.

Minuses - More expensive, I'd rather live in Pittsburgh or Portland (my other seminary top three) than a suburb of Phily, Wynnewood is expensive place to live, no car to commute to campus - if I lived in cheaper area,

Pittsburgh Theological Seminary

Pluses - Smaller number of people means more interaction with faculty, cheaper w/ $3000 scholarship, Pittsburgh is cool place to live for a couple of years, stores and restaurants nearby, can take classes from other Pittsburgh schools such as Pitt, Duquesne, Carnegie-Mellon, allows me to take a ton of electives if my choice (but part of that is due to the disadvantage of trimester, below)

Minuses - Presbyterian - which might be a little weird at first, trimester set up is a bit rough for classes, farther away from Magic and Clix, no concentrations or specialization available that would appear on my degree or for a resume, just an MA degree.

So, who has better academics? Palmer I think wins here. Who has better location? PTS wins there. PTS is also in a cheaper place and gave me a scholarship.

It absolutely can be a secret, and I believe it has been in most cases in previous games. Dubb knowing he was attacked is the outlier here, going from memory of earlier games.

In terms of spawnlings, Zinto might have done us a favor with the away crew. Not an overall favor, just in terms of risk for exposure/conversion with the gate down. Saldana's miracle worker should have protected all of us from being potentially exposed today, and since we've wasted our actions we can't get exposed further.

So for the people who were on that trip - me, Crimson, Saldana - there was no risk to Spawnling exposure during Day 5. Doesn't mean stuff couldn't have happened earlier/later in the game, but the window of time for a spawnling action closes up a bit.

Saldana Scans - can someone verify names/days on this list?

So preliminary thoughts for actions summarized:

Britrock and GE research the middle level research option

DV supervises 6 slaves to work on converting power facility #5

Chubby supervises 4 slaves to work on converting power facility #5

I will make myself warden for a cycle w/dupicant ability and put Shiggles in the brig for (? Either 2-3 days or indefinitely I would say).

Abe trains Julio to be a doctor (if possible)

Questions for other actions:

1. Should I put a couple others in the brig overnight so they can't be attacked in case a spawnling becomes a spawn during the night cycle? People in the brig have no actions per rules so putting them in with a spawn should not endanger them. I'm thinking in particular saldana, LSG, Danny (I can't put more than 4 total) who we probably don't want doing anything at night anyway. Those three I would set to be released in the morning.

2. If Abe can't train Julio because Julio has done an action, do we want to train Chief Rum as doctor? The only other option would be Chubby and I think we'd want to leave him as slave master so he can do a couple more converting points.

3. If we move Chief Rum to doctor, we would probably need to figure out what to do about a new Sergeant.

4. If we don't do 2. and 3., do we want Danny to train someone else as officer perhaps? If so, who?

The thinking about making another doctor is that if we've correctly identified the last currently living spawn, we can only really be hurt by mutations and whoever Zinto+Shiggles infected while we try to convert stuff to lift off. Thus we want to identify and/or cure those people as quickly as possible.

#1 I would think Brig is a good place for people who have been cleared that don't have meaningful night actions to help the team - if such a group exists. We want people guarding and converting buildings at night, but if someone is going to sleep it may as well be in there to eliminate the chance of being a victim of a spawn/spawnling attack.

#3 (new sergeant) - what are the options on bringing up a new one? Can we have anyone take on this role, potentially? Or is it restricted in any sense?

We want him passing out phasers before surrendering the role, I assume.

For 1, we only really need the engineers, CR (if Sargeant), Julio, and Chubby to be active at night. Maybe the scientists to finish their research. We don't need the command folks or doctors.

For 3, Danny can reassign Julio to Sargeant, but it won't take effect until tomorrow. Since CR's AP would go towards training to be a doctor, we would be without weapons tonight.

Probably have Chief go doc if you need to get it in now, Abe. I think JAG is right that our current enemy is spawnlings. Would also be good to get a scan on Saldana although I really do feel that he has been (and remains) on our side.

Obviously listen to Captain JAG if he is saying something different.

Continuing to make sure our bases are covered:

Quote:
Perimeter Fence This fence protects the Survivors from the Spawn attack/conversion when going outside (including between buildings), especially at night, while the Survivors are inside of it. It requires power from the Power Facilities in order to function. A successful spawn attack adds 1-8 man cycles of repair time.

That especially at night line may mean there's a higher chance of mutation for those people doing work at night with the fence out of operation.

Well, I assume we are still going to want to work on converting buildings overnight - even if that does put a couple of our folks at risk to the cruel outdoors.

If so, then when does it make sense for us to discuss what we work on in the thread? Now? Over the weekend? 6AM Monday morning?

I'm envisioning a very quiet weekend after a very quiet Friday

So here's what else we have to convert prior to lift off:

4 of 5 power facilities: 1 of these only requires 2 more cycles to complete and one should be completed by DV and Chubby, leaving us with 12 total cycles to complete here.

Water replicator: Requires 7 cycles of work to complete.

Those are the only required things we have left to convert, so a total of 19 cycles of conversion work.

Other potentially useful buildings to convert depending on what are spawn / spawnling situation looks like:

Medical: Requires 4 cycles to convert, no doctor examinations without this building

Science Lab: Requires 2 cycles to convert, no research or trainer training without this building (and no spawn scanner telling us how many spawn there are possibly?)

Security HQ: Requires 2 cycles to convert, prevents attacks on crew quarters / armory while manned, armory will not function without it.

Armory: Requires 4 cycles to convert, allows distribution of 5 phasers while on the ship to be used in self-defense.

I left out the brig, slave pens, and two spare warehouses as though they could be useful, they aren't essential and we probably don't want to spend the extra time converting them. The other optional buildings I think are at least worth consideration.

Just to be clear, the 19 total cycles for completing the essential buildings assumes that everything goes properly with DV / Chubby's work on power facility 5 today.

So one possibility fir night 5 would be Darth finishes converting power facility #2, hoops and CF knock out facility #4 (which isn't in use), which leaves us with 12 required cycles in buildings needing 5 and 7 cycles to complete. We could knock those out during the next day even if our research isn't completed. That's fairly tempting.

But let's say we kill Zinto and come the evening we find we have 3 spawn left or something depressing like that (aka a lot of spawnlings becoming full spawns) and we decide we really want all those other optional buildings. Since we're not using the armory tonight anyway, we could have hoops take a team of 8 slaves to convert that, CF converts the security HQ, and DV completes power facility #2 for a total of 8 cycles of work done and some options for how to proceed day 6.

If a spawn is in the brig with survivors, can it launch an attack on one?

Sorry if the questions are a bother, but I just want to be sure I'm not doing something foolish.
