Silly enough, I'd still rather see Michigan than VCU if I were Kansas. VCU would just be an awful matchup.

So, uh, Memphis-Michigan State tips in about 45. Time to do the errands for the afternoon...

Women's game could still use a mercy rule. UConn leads Idaho 78-18 and there's still 12 minutes to go. A 20-1 run (and counting) to start the second half.

I'm pretty confident we'll never see a men's team be a 16th seed with only 4 losses.

Tough call on Harris for his third foul - will be interesting to see how Spartans do with him on bench, as he has nearly half their points today.

Payne may find himself on the business end of a GIF after that first half block, but got some payback there. He has stepped up in the last few minutes.

It was my senior year, so 1998 is correct.

Allison Feaster was a beast. She used to run the pick up games against decent guy players.

Memphis should be selling out, VCU Havoc style, right now trying to force turnovers. Appling out, two other MSU guard/wing types with four fouls ... MSU will give the ball up, even with their full complement of players. And it is a lot easier scoring against the Spartans in transition.

I mean, what do you have to lose at this point?

Yep. This reminds of a loss to Oklahoma St. in the round of 32 in 2005. After that, we went on a run of three straight Elite Eights. I think our program is in a good spot and getting out of the sorry sack of shit that is Conference USA will really help.

Sure this is obvious to folks who are regulars in this thread, but it is a lot of fun watching Louisville play defense.

I've been surprised/impressed by their outside shooting so far this game. Much more efficient in half court sets than what I've seen from them earlier in the year.

Im good with this. Wouldn't want him thinking about any Cali jobs. I think Pitt is going to make adjustments (for the better) in the ACC with both recruiting and then with how they play. No Big East will help when they cant play rough in the tourney. It wasn't a factor this year, but it def has been in the past

I'm cool with it. I don't think there are a lot of Arizona teams crashing Harvard's "screw you out of retirement" brackets so it's only fair that a school in a known retirement hot spot gets to beat them soundly in basketball.

I'm guessing that 95% of basketball tvs just went to St Louis-Oregon, right?

Maybe bob wasn't the problem? Oregon has been in control most of this way. They seem to have really discombobulated the St Louis offense. The times I've seen the Billikens they were a much better passing team than what I've seen up to this point. I would have figured a more athletic/disciplined man-to-man defense would have been more effective, but this zone has put St. Louis to sleep.

I think Gottlieb spent 5 minutes railing on it in one of his games and so did the announcer today.
