I agree about Frozen Cortex. I'm enjoying it a lot more than I ever did Blood Bowl, something nice about having random chance thrown out and having it all come down to strategy and anticipation.

Also, red was the winner. The answer could have been any color, since the question was which one is the fastest in your opinion. Maybe some people think green is fast. I dunno.
Half of us should buy a copy and share with another buddy on here... Then we should start a league.

If you play multiplayer is it asynchronous turns? Are they simultaneous? How long would a match take if someone only did say one turn per day?

Took me a bit to get settled in, but after starting 3-3 in a single player league I managed to finish 10-4 and make the knockout rounds, where I got saddled with a bad field and couldn't figure out a way to score without giving them the time and number of possessions needed to out score me. I like how the fields are random, the obstacles really change each game and give things a feel of unpredictability. Multi-player is nice in that you can have many games going at once and just click around from game to game making your moves.

I got a free copy of There Came an Echo from the devs give away on NeoGAF so I'll be trying that out when it releases tomorrow.
After watching Dodger stream Darkest Dungeon several times I finally got around to playing it. My A Team had been doing so well until I lost my Hellion to the Old Hag's cooking pot. For now I've replaced her with a Leper and have been spending most runs praying that he actually managed to hit something. I have had a few crashes so far, most of which haven't been too bad with the auto save. Frustrating when it crashes as I start a mission and it loads in town before having started but still leaves me out the gold I'd spent on supplies. |

Picked up Frozen Cortex. Decent at passing the ball but terrible at defense so far.

And as I say that I manage an 11-0 victory where a pick and fumble recovery make up for the interception I threw on my own offensive possession.
Only played a handful of games so far, but does getting the ball first seem like a pretty big advantage to anyone else? Most games I've played go three possessions so the team that goes first starts with the ball twice, plus it seems easier to defend a field after you've seen what you can do on offense. |

How long does the average game take? This first game of mine has taken well over an hour.

Anyone know anyone with an alienware alpha? I know original reviews weren't great but a recent price drop(to $479) at least makes it an interesting option. I was looking at getting a desktop anyways.
Looks like you can always update the ram and hdd and CPU at a later point if you elect to. |

Single player games usually take me about 15 minutes. Unsure about the play advantage, but I don't think passes should count as turns, personally.
I haven't looked into starting an MP league yet, but there is a button for exactly that in game, so I will give it a look. EDIT: MP not ready to go just yet, but should be in a forthcoming patch. When that patch drops we should be fairly well acquainted with the game I think, and probably ready to start one.

Just splurged on Sunless Sea (full price) and 20% off Hand of Fate. I really need a purchasing break (and I'm vowing to wait for a Darkest Dungeon sale). I did a search of how much I spent on Steam and related PC games in the past 6 months. Nearly $300. I won't be sharing that over dinner to the wife. But I'm guessing that isn't as bad as a lot of people here.

Anyone played Galactic Civilizations III? Noticed that it's 50% off this weekend and was thinking about making the plunge.

I went ahead and picked up the Alienware Alpha, pricematching it down to $469. For the form factor it was going to be hard to do much better. I still need another 4GB of ram and I'm going to have to swap in a SSD at some point. The steam UI is pretty nice and I could totally see using it basically like a console if that was something you wanted to do.
