RPI is added to the standings screen. I've got plenty of space to work with there so let me know if there are any other suggestions.

@ heavyreign :
great to here that most those little things are allready covered/about to be covered as for the depth chart : Iīm just an idiot. I didnīt realize there was a drag and drop option when you grab/klick the position description instead of the name This way itīs more than fine, i just didnīt realize we didnīt have to use the up/down option ... Thanks for the heads up regarding the watch list One relatively big issue, since that was one of the changes you announced : Redshirts are still very, very frequent with the demo, are you still pondering with that ? I freaking love the option to have the records show the Top50 and not just the Top 10 anymore Quote:
maybe the respective home and road records ? Last edited by whomario : 03-23-2010 at 04:38 PM. |

That's what I figured. On FBCB1, I'd always sim a big chunk of seasons before I took over, and never had a problem with any stats. The default, created rosters always seemed to have some insane seniors. Last edited by Emmett13 : 03-23-2010 at 04:44 PM. |

Can you expound on this a little? If I offer 5 coaches, 3 of them are top level guys and I offer them all $200,000, and the 4th and 5th are "backup" targets who are only worth $125,000 but that I'd be happy to get if I fail on the first 3... is there any sort of logic in place to go for the better/top/more expensive guys first or is there a chance that you'd get any one of the five and that you might get the worst one even if the best one is still available? Either way its a great improvement. Also, I haven't gotten to the end of a season yet to see it in action, but I saw there are placeholders in the HTML for all the postseason tournaments, which is really outstanding as well. |

Oh! I haven't been able to find the 'play-in' game yet for the NCAA tournament.
Also, is the Great West a "NCAA tournament bid" conference? I don't think they are, but they will be eventually, I imagine. So in 20 some odd years of simming will they still be a lame duck conference? |

The game rates each of the assistant coaches for each job. Then it goes in order processing the #1 assistant, #1 recruiter, #1 scout, #2 assistant, #2 recruiter, etc. Each round runs the top 30 at each position or top 50 for the initial hiring period in the first season. So while it is possible you might get a lower choice it is unlikely. The only way for it to happen is if someone you have lower on your list as a recruiter for instance comes up on the scout list or assistant list before your higher rated recruiters.

This can be turned on or off in the editors. Just go to that conference and change "Conference gets automatic tourney berth" to yes.

I changed this back to on by default. Didn't notice that I changed that when I redid the new game screen.

So, if I give the Great West a tourney berth does that add one more play in game? Or does that take away one at-large selection? |

So HR, you can't open a player card while simming a game in coach mode? That was something I always enjoyed doing.

Only questions I have when you get a chance is for the tournaments;
-Does the AI seed the teams or do we do that manually? -Does each conference have conference tournaments ? -if there are confernce tourneys do all the conference tourney winners get automatic bids? |

It takes away an at large. Quote:
I might be able to find a workaround. The issue comes from the fact that it is much harder to pause what is happening on one form and show a new form under the current set up. You can still view the player screen while the game is paused. You just have to pause it first. Quote:
RPI got the others. I'll just confirm that this is customizable. The default is that everyone but the Ivy League and the Independents has a tourney. If you want, you can set it so nobody has a tourney. You can choose which conferences have an automatic bid and which do not. You can choose how many teams play in each conference tourney. Teams with losing records will not be given at large bids.

I really like the efficiency and pace stats, but I was wondering if you couldn't put those under 'team info' as well. Unless I'm missing them, you have to go to team statistics then sort through all the teams to find yours.
I also really like the 3PA/FGA stat, if you could put that in somehow, gives a great idea on how many three pointers a team really shoots. |

while we are on the subject of adding the RPI : Would it be in any way possible to add it to the coaches Poll screen ? And conversely add the coaches Poll position to the RPI screen ? *just thinking out loud here* another thing : Only judging from a few test recruiting classes, it seems a bit odd that a ton of higher ranked guys are really small for their positions (a ton of 5ī11 SGs, on average it seems as the lower ranked guys (say 3 star compared to 4/5 stars) are taller although still pretty small. Canīt scientifically back that claim up, just thought iīd throw it out there Like the mix at PF/C, seems a bit off a PG/SG/SF. Last edited by whomario : 03-23-2010 at 06:08 PM. |

Much like the first game, some of the obscure stuff in here is really making the college hoops nerd in me happy. Like being able to customize which days the different conference tournaments take place on. Damn I love this franchise.

Wow...nice graphical update to the game.
Just running through a quick test run... On the hot seat screen, I like how the calendar has color coded dates for home vs away games. After the game is played, any chance of coloring the background of that particular day to quickly indicate a win or loss? Maybe light green for a win and pale yellow for a loss... |

I was thinking of changing it to show W or L.
Icy's error 9 is likely due to region settings rather than Windows 7 64 bit. I'm working on it. |

On the conference tournament tab, getting kicked with a run-time error 9 when I accidentally click on conferences whose tournaments aren't seeded yet. This might only be a year 1 issue anyway since there is no previous season on record to display.
Gotta say though, love the new tournament page -- looks a lot cleaner, and complete with scores now! The little things... Interface overall is an improvement on what was already a very good interface. Last edited by LloydLungs : 03-23-2010 at 07:23 PM. |

Can be easily changed by the user, but FYI the SEC does seed by divisions in its tournament -- the default is on no. Also, in tournaments that feature first round, second round, semi-finals, and finals, semi-finals is spelled "sem-finals."

It looks like the "color-coded" overall rating is a little off - pretty much everyone, if not everyone's defense rating is equal to or greater than their offensive rating. When I look at the Pro Prospects, for freshmen there is a pretty wide spread of offensive ratings, but every single one has Blue defense (as does every other class year).
Not sure if it's an issue with the initial player file or the way "overall ratings" are calculated.

It'd be cool if on the team schedule there was a blurb, like w-l, rpi, etc. next to each team.

There is so much new and improved, I am awed. Great job Brian!
I just quickly ran through the season with my usual routine (in about 30 minutes). I wrote down some notes, knowing that they probably repeat what others have said and that these are fairly superficial (mainly user operations and the interface). But for the record: 1. On the New Game screen, fix the tab settings for the 4th tourney and its name 2. I tried the Open Folder thing (to see if I could load in my current career) but I didn't understand what it wanted. 3. I love the Hot Seat but in some of the off-season tasks, I wished it popped me to another screen (like the email screen) after simming month. 4. On Schedule Proposal, I really wish there was some way to select many and reject all proposals. But being able to arrow down works as well. 5. I know it's a matter of getting used to the new interface, particularly the content frame on the left, but I did miss the group headers from FBCB1. I know that once the season starts rolling, you used all of the slots, so it's cool not to take up any more room with groupings. 6. When it hit November, I really expected to see how I did recruiting, not realizing that recruiting still continues. It got me thinking that if I'm in Hot Seat, I would love to see the player status box become an email box or something dynamic like that. This also goes along with one of my later comments. 7. Training Schedule: one of the key things I use when setting the training number is being able to sort by Year, as well as by Position (i.e., the amount given to attributes like conditioning is predicated upon Year for me). 8. I had look hard to figure out the bars, knowing that it is cur/fut, but it wasn't obvious. The bar scale seems to be off. In some cases, I couldn't determine what the number means. Perhaps have 6/8? 9. Also, I don't like the darker gray future bar against a black background. 10. This is another thing we'll get used to but I wish there the player color tab key on each screen. 11. Here's my main comment: I like how you can sim games in the Hot Seat, as well as in the League Schedule. But I wish there was some way to combine the information. For example, if I am simming (day or to a date), I wish it automatically pop to the League Schedule screen (so I can watch the simmed games as they happen). But what I really need is to see the Player Note. I am a fast simmer but I pay attention to everything. When I was simming a two weeks block, I didn't really know what was happening results-wise. When I did the same thing on the League Schedule screen, I knew the results but I lost contact with my team (e.g., email notifications or more importantly, player notes). 12. Love the status bar on both season screens. Is there a way to add Conference place? 13. Bubble Watch: sort by in/out? 14. Where do I find the Team List screen? 15. I was sitting in Hot Seat simming into March but I got no notification that it was conference tournament time. It didn't show up on the calendar or as a to-do notification (I ended up blowing right through it without realizing it). 16. Did I miss the Selection Show? This was one of our very favorite feature of FBCB. 17. Save As is very critical to have. I know these deal with interface issues but I just focused on user operations and pacing with the actions. There is so much I love (like being about to print out anything, the more-graphical brackets, recruiting, the expanded Team Snapshot and so much more). |

I'm not sure how many others have a similar setup, but I figured I would let you know that my resolution in Windows 7 is 1920x1080 and can't be bumped up any higher. For the demo I'm not worried about it, but it is something you might consider in the final version. I don't know about Taskbar dragging (the Taskbar is radically changed in Windows 7 and I couldn't figure out how to do it easily). In the meantime, I'll just play on my laptop.
