Part Two

I advance a week. Anyone I wanna chase?

WR Collier – 66 mill over 4 years. No thanks

LB Ragonesi – 58 mill, 3 years. No thanks

Shea? 6 mill over 2 years…. That’s not bad if I wanna bring him back as a backup… that saves me 2 mill off his normal cap hit of 5 mill. For a 55/55 d back who’s just 29? I make him an offer.

There are no major Abe’s Boys available

Week 2 – Ragonesi signs with the Saints. Good luck!

Week 3 – Collier signs with the Falcons. Good luck!

Week 6 – Shea sings with us, CB Wiley signs with the Broncos

My updated needs list from the draft:

Backup – Better QB than Noah Howe, WR – maybe one who can be my PR, OG, OT, LB – See below, 1 CB/S
Starter – Maybe K for Zill, Stud DE/DT, Maybe a stud or starter quality LB

I’ll see you at the draft!

The 2036 NFL Amateur Draft

Picking first is the Bengals and they take…WR Adam Rountree.

Who is available at the 1.30 spot?

DE Benjamin Durham, As scouted – weak bars for pr technique and better than average for all of the other stuff. Do I wanna grab a weak PR technique De at 1.30?
SLB Dalton Rhoades – Overrated – Great bars!
DE Phil Jenkins – Next DE on the list after Durham, have not interviewed, worse than Durham in most bars.
DT Edward Konwinski – Hard to read. Best DT on the board. Great at run D but weak pass rush. Very weak. Also weak at hitting and play diag.
DT Tyrus Vandam- The next DT on the board. As Scouted. Run d and pass rush tech are great, but poor elsewhere.

But….the top ILB is still on the board. I didn’t interview him because I thought he’d be taken. His name is Carson Warren and he looks like a strong LB. Very strong. I could grab him and then get my next game changing LB, hopefully. He’s also the BAP at any position.

Hmmm… I take Warren. He seems studly.

2.30

Who’s there?

WR Myles Fitzgerald?
DE Heath Hanson?

I take Hanson the top DE on the board.

3.30 – Do I take K Ike Haralson? Yes let’s! No Ks have gone. He’s Hard to Read.

4.30 – No QBs have been taken it’s a weak QB draft so I could grab QB Enrique Wayne the top QB on the board. Also available is DT Frank Johnson who seems pretty solid. Hmm…. I take Johnson.

5.30? I take the top OT on the board…Randall Colthorp

6.30 – WR George Stuart is good at the PR and I grab him.

7.30 – I take OG Hunter Cortez a run blocking specialist.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.30 – LB Carson Warren, Louisiana-Lafayette, 40/76
2.30 – DE Heath Hanson, Kansas, 33/65
3.30 – K Ike Haralson, Arizona, 56/78
4.30 – DT Frank Johnson, Syracuse, 27/63
5.30 – OT Randall Colthorp, Northwestern, 19/33
6.30 – WR George Stuart , Boise State, 21/35
7.30 – OG Hunter Cortez, Army, 11/52

Alright! We have a nice studly LB at the 1.30 that we can use for a few years as well as a potential new K and better players on my D Line. Let’s see how they develop!

The 2036 NFL FA Period #2

I chase a few rookie FAs

FB Stanley Delgado
OT Quinn Kaplan
LB Alvin Stone
CB Nate Coleman

Week 2 - 1 signs

Week 3 – The rest join us.

UFAs of Note

FB Stanley Delgado, 26/63
LB Alvin Stone, 33/58

I have 59 under contract

Now post draft let’s extend my DT and OC.

I have 12 mill in cash after. Any 2 years I may wanna offer to lock in a cheaper deal overall?

TE Freeman? Wants 61 mill over 4 years. Nope.

OT Kufahl wants 37 mll for 4 years…doable.

LB Suzaka wants 9 mill for three which is only an extension of one year. I do so

I also extend Kufahl

That leaves me 7 mill under the cap.

Ready for camp?

Wanna see my top rookies?

Here is Warren! We are running him at the SLB spot, and he’ll start at LB along with Suzaka at WLB and Hillman at MLB. Warren is solid at everything with no major weaknesses and better at run d.he’s not bad at all and well rounded.

Next?

Sure thing! Here is Heath Hanson! He’s not the best at run stopping but the man hits like a bear, can diagnose plays like Einstein and has a powerful pr punch. He’s not that bad at coverage either. I am starting him across from DE Rieke along with my other rookie at DT.

Wanna see my 3rd round?

Sure! Here is Ike Haralson. If he grows to 90, he’ll be the best in the league by EIGHTEEN!

Stats

Offensive

Passing

QB Vance – 317 of 449, 3685 yards, 27:6, 109.6 rating, 16 sacks

His numbers were down due to injuries. Although his rating still led the league

Rushing

RB Fones – 367 for 1918, 5.23 ypc, 16 scores

Wow this was (another) great year for Fones!

Receiving

Branden Lim is nasty. He led the league in yards and was 2nd in TDs. Dude has a nose for the ball. Freeman was our other major threat and then the ball was divided among many different folks retty evenly. Not bad!

Blocking

Here you can see our blocking this year. Petrovic’s #s are great. You can see Horton’s numbers without being injured.

Special Teams

K Haralson, 35 of 43, Long of 53, 54 of 56 PAT

Needs to get better but this was his rookie year.

P O’Neal - 69 punts, 42.6 avg, 29 in 20.

% in the 20 dropped this year.

We had 0 return scores

Defense

Here you can see our defensive numbers. Hartman led in tackles, and Rieke was rocking 17 sacks and led in sacks by 3.5. Dude is a weapon. Joseph another great year with 9 sacks. Those two are Rocks of Gibraltar. Rookies Warren, Hanson and Johnson are getting broken in well.

Pass Coverage

I’m a little surprised that Palmer didn’t make All Pro when Hutcheson did given their equal picks. Maybe it was the pick sixs for Hutcheson? Warren was fine his rookie year here with a pick, a ret TD, and 12 pas def which was 2nd on my team.

The 2037 NFL Offseason

We score a 76 despite winning a Super Bowl!

Retirements

None on our team

Abe’s Boys of Note

DE Carson Spatz – We drafted him with the Jets, and then signed him with the Dolphins

Do I wanna choose a new team and try this again? I could slide to the Pats! Try to beat my Dolphins! Nah let’s finish this year at least

Staff

I retain my DC Sean McDermott

We draft 19th. Anyone poach my staff?

Nope! I make no changes to my staff.

I massage my ticket prices.

Here are my non-RFAs available for franchising

FS Shaun Curtis
DT Aaron Lazetti
DE Mercury Ford
LB Derrick Kasichke

That’s it! No tags needed

I have 10 mill in cap space and 0 for new players, so we’ll need to make some cap changes to sign my RFAs.

Who do I have coming free of quality next year?

TE Freeman – This is my biggest and most expensive rookie acquisition from a few years ago.
TE Fulton – A strong #2 TE.
OG Limbert
OG Petrovic
MLB Hartman
WR Bradford
CB Ackerman
CB Trunsky
SS Shea – Dropped to 49/49
TE Schwartz

What do I need?

Backup – QB better than Noah Howe; DE, DT, LB, S/CB
Starters – S/CB, LB for Hartman, BAP?

Ready for FA?

The 2037 NFL Amateur Draft

Picking at the 1.1 spot is the Raiders. They take….QB Donny Dedds.

See you in 31!

The 1.32 pick arrives. Who is still on the board?

The top three Safeties are off. Sad. All of the CBs I interviewed are also off the board.

FS Neal Frazier, Hard to Read, low picks, not great bars
FS Joseph Timmerman – The next S on the board. Overrated
CB Alex Soriano – the top CB on the board.
ILB Henry Wright – Great bars, overrated
MLB Donald Royal – Not as good bars, very overrated
WLB Donovan Lynch – Hard to Read – horrible pass rush, okay elsewhere
TE Jerald Moyer – Maybe I could grab Freeman’s replacement?
TE Scottie D'Antonio – Ditto
FB Dominique Armstrong – Ditto
OT Frank Ferguson – The best OT on the board. Good bars in everything but endurance
OT Terrance Craig – the 2nd best OT on the board. Good bars in everything.

Ferguson is the better run blocker. Ferguson? Ferguson.

Backup –; DE, LB, S/CB
Starters – S/CB,

2.32- It has LB Henry Wright who seems to have fallen….do I pluck him? I do.

3.32 – Do I wanna grab a QB here? The best is QB Winston Sander. How about DE Chandler Porcher? I go with Sander.

4.32 – I could go DT Tom Foster here. I do so.

5.32 – Hmmmmmm…. What to do? I grab the top CB on the board CB Lionel Farrell.

6.32 – Hmmm… How about TE Marlon Antonik a pass catching specialist.

7.32 – CB Tanner Prior?

Rookie Lookie

1.32. – OT Frank Ferguson, Washington, 23/73
2.32 – LB Henry Wright, Georgia, 31/70
3.32 – QB Winston Sander, Missouri, 11/43
4.32 – DT Tom Foster, San Jose State, 20/54
5.32 – CB Lionel Farrell, Evansville, 25/37
6.32 - TE Marlon Antonik, Kansas, 23/39
7.32 – CB Tanner Prior, NC State, 26/59

And there we are!

I have a vet holdout by LB Hartman.

Do I cut OT Castaneda? I do so. That frees up 11 mill.

I extend both of my OGs and TE Fulton. I’ll use Fulton as my Freeman replacement after he leaves. He’s just too pricey and I don’t have the cap space for him.

I do not make an offer for Hartman to bring his salary up, I hope he’ll end the holdout.

I make offers to these UFA rookies

C Collin Checovetes
QB Frank Yee
RB O.J. Lamarr
DE Wesley Witkop
CB Theodore Preston

Week 1 – Two of my targets sign

Week 2 – The rest are ours.

Castaneda did not sign.

Any UFAs of note?

C Collin Checovetes, 19/59
QB Frank Yee, 16/47
RB O.J. Lamarr, 37/46
DE Wesley Witkop, 15/51
CB Theodore Preston, 12/39

Let’s head to camp!

Not bad. Wright didn’t bust like I expected with his overrated thus far. QB Sander rose and Yee fell.

I have a roster of 58 so no cuts needed.

DE Wesley Witkop, 15/51; 21/52; 23/56
CB Theodore Preston, 12/39; 15/38; 15/29

Great boom by Ferguson! We got the drop by Wright but if he hangs around 65 that’ll be good value at the end of the 2nd round. Sander went the wrong way. DT Foster and DE Witkop grew as well, which is nice.

I cut these players

QB Yee
QB Howe
Rb VanKirk
TE Evanswhite
CB Preston

Wanna see my top 2 rookies

Here is Ferguson! He’s very green but we’ll start him none the less. He is great at everything other than endurance.

Here is Wright! I am running him in the middle and starting Hartman at WLB for Suzaka. He sucks at zone D but he’s fine elsewhere.

On the Green Page is Ferguson 6th and that’s it.

Rookie Investigation

At QB Sander is actually 3rd by potential. Not a great year for them

After booming, Ferguson is now the 2nd best OT in the draft. The top is 43/85

At DE, undrafted FA Pitkop is 5th best.

At DT Foster is 6th best

Wright is the 4th best LB in the draft

At CB Prior is 6th best

Good stuff!

DE Hanson is back

Week 12 – Panthers, who are 0-10 – We win 51-6. Nasty! Fones, MVP, 19 for 176 and 3 scores. Vance was 16 of 24, 212 and 3:0 and was replaced in the 4th quarter. Devine was 4 for 140 and 1 score. Scores by Presleyx2, Fones. 5 KRb by Horton.

Week 13 – At the Broncos – We lose 24-31. Fones 19 of 172 and 3 scores. Vance 16 of 29, 176.

Vance is out for 7 weeks. This happened before in his second season where he was out for most of the season. What will happen with our momentum?

We are 10-2 at the three quarter mark.

Before I do stats let’s pause…

Here is my roster sorted by potential. As you can see we’ve built the Dolphins into a powerful juggernaut with 6 players 80+, another 5 70+ and 14 more 60+. Nasty right?

Stats

Offensive

Passing

Vance – 12 starts, 269 of 414, 3116, 19:6, 98.6 rating
Sander – 4 starts, 96 of 169, 1255, 9:7, 80.8 rating

As you can see we had two QBs running things out there for us.

Rushing

Fones – 321 for 1738, 5.41 ypc, 16 scores

Nasty for Fones despite him falling in skills his ypc is rising! He was 2nd in yards.

Receiving

With a down year at QB you expect Lim to be done and he is. It was an up year for Freeman though!

Blocking

This is my first year in a while without an All Pros somewhere on this line. Limbert led in KRB again, and we had loads of pancakes. OT Ferguson’s numbers are there for you to consider as well!

Special Teams

K Haralson – 37 of 50, Long of 57, 50 of 52 PAT

He did not play up to his ability at all!

P O’neal – 72 punts, 44.7 avg, 27 in 20

Okay.

Ackerman – 1 KR Ret tD

Good job Ackerman!

Defense

S Palmer led my team in tackles. DT Joseph cracked 10 sacks which is rough for anyone, much less a DT! Nasty! At 14.5 Rieke also netted a ton of sacks and pressure as well. He didn’t show his age! Rieke was 1 sack off the league leader and was 2nd in sacks. Joseph was 3rd in sacks! Good stuff! Joseph also led our team with 4 FF.

Pass Coverage

As you can see we are okay in picks. Not great, not bad. Hutcheson led in pasdef with 20 and tied for the lead in picks. Good job folks!

Off. Player of the Year – RB Preston Fones – He hasn’t shown any sign of slowing down! He is a stud! He grabbed my only All Pro on offense this year.

Def. Player of the Year – Dt Jonah Joseph – What he did was just amazing for my squad! He is the Ageless Wonder at DT!

Special Teams Player of the Year – Ackerman – Another ret TD! Good job!

Rookie of the Year – OT Ferguson – He wasn’t embarrassed out there and was fine as a starting rookie. Good job!

Heart Award – QB Winston Sander – Duh! This 3rd round rookie just won a Super Bowl. How could anyone else be here?

I will be moving to the Panthers in the offseason assuming they’ll have me. I wanna remake this magic again! They finished 0-16 and they need my loving hand.

Before I do, allow me to recap our years at the Dolphins

2029 – 2-14
2030 – 3-13
2031 – 10-6, Lost in Week 1
2032 – 12-4, Super Bowl Winner
2033 – 13-2-1 – Lost in Super Bowl
2034 – 14-1-1 – Lost in Super Bowl
2035 – 13-2-1 – Lost in Week 3
2036 – 14-2 – Super Bowl Winner
2037 – 12-4 – Super Bowl Winner

We have been the Super Bowl 5 times in 6 years and won 3. This thing is (hopefully) on autopilot and can even win when Vance is out.

I am going to take over the Panthers! They need me!

The 2038 NFL Offseason

I get an 82 rating

Retirements

OC Neal Glen – Have a good life Glen!

Abe’s Boys

QB Tony Rhem – Good job Rhem! Is he going to the Hall of Fame?
DE Wayne McIntyre which I had on two teams has retired
FS Ernie Weber – Good job Weber – my best S in my dynasty across all teams and a starter for both teams.

I move to the Panthers!

Coach Draft

All of my staff are eligible for replacement, but if they are the best? I’ll keep them. I kept Brian Schottenheimer at Miami.

We draft 5th and that’s a pretty good spot for grabbing staff!

Head Coach – Our current HC is Matthew Slater. I begin the draft. I grab Patrick Graham as my new HC. He has a suitability of 70, he’s 59, and is the DC for the Cowboys. He’s well rounded with no major weaknesses.

Off. Coordinator -Our current OC is Ethan Green. There is an 80 suitability guy out there – Andy Dalton. I grab him. He prefers the Erhardt-Perkins style of Offense.

Def. Coordinator – Our current DC is JJ Newton. Who do I like? The best is AJ Bouye, who likes a 4-3, so I convert to that. I have a Bouye jersey for my Jags so this is funny.

Ass. Coordinator – Our AC is Bernie Hall. He is the best one out there so I make no changes.

Str. Coordinator – Our SC is Caleb Shelton. I keep him as well.

Enjoy!

We are drafting 1.1 and we have a great QB but he came back Hard to Read. I interview others as I expect I’ll just take him.

One of the players on the Panthers, LB Edward Fuller, is an Abe’s Boy and I won’t cut him. I cut the rest.

Unfortunately Freeman was tagged by the Dolphins so we cannot sign him

I advance to week 2 and I make offers to these people

WR DeAndre Presley
WR Emmanuel Bradford
CB Kevin Brennan
MLB Lonnie Hartman
SS Sammie Shea
OC Deion Horton
WLB Shaun Donaldson

RB Preston Fones – They cut him
DE Kirk Rieke – They cut him as well

Week 3 – We sign Fones, Rieke, Brennan and Hartman. Bradford signs with Miami.

Week 7 – Presley and Horton sign with us.

Week 11 – Shea and Donaldson sign with us.

I’m sad that we missed on Bradford but we offered him 4 mill more in bonus money.

The 2038 NFL Amateur Draft

We have the 1.1 spot. The top player is…

QB Wayne Pritchett. Hard to Read? Yes, but I have to take the gamble.

I’ll see you at the 1.17, where we have an extra pick from trades under the other GM. We also have a 4.14.

The 1.17 is here and I am BAP’ing most positions.

Who is available?

DE Julio Pavkovich – Top DE on the board, very overrated
SLB Dwayne Rose – Hard to Read – after signing Hartman and keeping my stud SLB LB is my least position of need. No sense wasting a 2.1 on my likely WLB. If I were a 3-4? Probably not even then.
OT Wyatt Koury – The best O Line on the board. I have an okay C we signed but we need to get some O Line here.
DE Geoff Cook – No interview, great bars.
FB Mark Whalen – Stud could be a good TE. That feels like a futile option to me though. My team isn’t that developed
TE Dernell Bohm – Or I could just go Bohm.
OG Sammy Tatum – Very Underrated – Adequate bars but the interview was good for Tatum.
FS Sammy Raumaker– Raumaker looks like a stud. Getting a high quality D Back would help solidify my team.

I like Tatum here as well as Cook and Raumaker and maybe Koury. I pick Tatum as he interviewed well and I can’t risk a bust.

I’ll see you in a moment!

2.1 is here

I like

WR Braxton Wilcox
FS Sammy Raumaker is still on the board

Hmmm….

I grab Wilcox I need playmakers, I can’t wait two years later for a good WR like I did last time with the Dolphins.

3.1 – How about DE Rickey Humphrey who seems pretty solid? I also like OT Kurt Gillespie. Both of these seem like strong falls. Who do I prefer? I need OT More than DE considering my team so I grab Gillespie.

4.1 –

Is CB Braxton Marsh available? How about OG Owen Lane? I grab Lane.

4.14 –

Hmmm… I take a stud looking CB named Miles Collier.

5.1 – Who do I like here? How about DT Taylor Benson?

6.1 – Do I want to grab WR Marco Brandenfeis?

7.1 – How about CB Eli Zaiser? He looks to have some solid bars.

Rookie Lookie #1

1.1 – QB Wayne Pritchett, Colorado, 35/73
1.17 – OG Sammy Tatum , Louisiana-Monroe, 38/79
2.1 – WR Braxton Wilcox, Fort Hays State, 44/62
3.1 – OT Kurt Gillespie, Michigan State, 20/68
4.1 – OG Owen Lane, Vanderbilt, 20/48
4.14 – CB Miles Collier, Maryland, 25/60
5.1 – DT Taylor Benson, Oregon State, 31/46
6.1 – WR Marco Brandenfeis, Ohio, 31/56
7.1 – CB Eli Zaiser, Texas Tech, 26/65

I hope we can find some great talent in there!

The 2038 NFL Preseason

I am looking at my future picks and we don’t have a 2nd rounder next year but we have an extra 4th. Do I wanna trade a 3rd for TE Fulton? I offered my 4th that we got in a trade and was told it was very very close, and then I offered my normal 4th and the same message. No thanks.

I hand out many deactives.

Week 2 – Steelers – We lose 22-0.

Week 3 – At the Jaguars – We lose 13-28

Week 4 – Browns – We lose 10-23

Week 5 – At the Titans -We lose 25-35

We finish 0-4

On The Green Page I have Pritchett at the top, Tatum 5th, and Gillespie on there as well.

Wanna see my top three picks?

Here’s my top pick! He is green and lacks timing but is good elsewhere. Enjoy the Pritchett’ing!

Here’s Tatum who really grew!

The Pride of Louisiana-Monroe is a stud. No weaknesses at all.

Here’s my 2.1 pick – Wilcox. He’s my starting PR man as well as a solid, adequate, well rounded receiver.
