He was in A before, but I don't know where that .857 is coming from.

Nice rebound, Q. Noticed today that you had climbed the ranks a bunch.

Looking like another mid-teens finish for me. Which I'l take. I'd have to improve by 100 points to even have an outside shot at the top 3 in A, so yeah it's just a matter of not backsliding and staying out of the relegation zone.

My record has been around .500 every single season in C, so I guess my choices are get better at defense or get better at trivia

Not a great start. 1 out of 6 today.

And I managed to get the criminal law question wrong, which is pretty impressive for a full-time criminal lawyer.

I thought today's questions were on the tough side though. I guessed on the law one and got it right, got 1 other right, and was nowhere close on the other 4.

Left easy money on the table each of the first two days. That isn't going to cut it after my inexplicable promotion to A.

Yeah, I did not know you had been bumped up a tier until I looked at the tracker today.

I've shaken my head at some answers after-the-fact so far as well.

The phrasing of the recent Winnie the Pooh question left me straining to come up with Christopher Robin's mother... and to declare it an impossible question worthy of my 3 that day. I lost by one point.

I was really hoping West Side Story was going to be a theatre question, because I would have gotten art, literature, and theatre right in one day, which are far and away my worst three categories, especially theatre. I am so uncultured.

I had to learn the "Winnie the Pooh" song for a recital as a kid. It's one of those weird things that I can still sing by memory, even though I probably haven't heard the song in 20 years. I just started singing the song in my head, as soon as I hit "Kanga and little Roo", I was there.

Horrible defense so far. I've given up 3 point questions on both of the 1st two days.

Oh, I definitely know Kanga and Roo as characters in the stories, it was just the phrasing that somehow pushed me to think of a human mother and I had nothing at all... just weird how that happens.

I was at the bottom of my rundle until a surprise win yesterday. Hope to make it two in a row today but this season has been a struggle

I'm also at the bottom of my Rundle. But when you are against nothing but eggrolls, it happens.

I was .800 QPct after week 1, but with a 1-2-2 record. I have been crap this week, and am staring down 1-6-2. I think I'll eventually be able to keep above water, but man am I springing leaks at the moment.

Top of the rundle is crazy. Guy currently with a .813 is only 11th best there.

Got another 9(6) today.

Shame I had such a crap start to the season, I dominated after the first 5 matches. I'll probably finish in the 4-6 range in my rundle.

A few seasons ago, apparently I was in the same rundle as Jeopardy champion and minor sex symbol Kirstin Cutts. Noticed that while perusing my opponent list the other day

Another tough season here as well. Barely survived relegation. My problem is that my good categories I dominate, and my bad categories I am horrific. I was the easiest person to defend in my rundle this season.

I had the opposite kind of issues this year. Relatively even spread among categories (except theater!), so scored 15 3s... But I had the worst defensive season in the rundle--I probably overweight categories and underrate the inherent difficulty of questions...

All that leads to a midtable finish in Hinterland B with high PF/PA values.

perpetual reminder to myself:

read the fucking question, idiot

seriously, this was the main source of improvement for me between my troughs and peaks, I think, and today I left some rather easy money on the table again just due to this laziness...

Facing off against ntndeacon on the final day of Hinterland B. He's safe as long as he doesn't forfeit; I have an outside chance at promotion(?!?)--not that I want to get crushed in A.

I was flirting with promotion for a bit out of C for the first time, then my defense fell off, I lost a couple I probably shouldn't have and will probably finish 8th-10th

I believe I have staved off relegation, just barely, though my 2/6 today won't help with that.

And though it is about today's questions, I feel that I can say that I did not forfeit.

If I can pull out a win, I will finish 12-12-1 in C. The ultimate in average.

5(4) to 6(4) loss today to keep me out of promotion. Even a tie would have been enough.

Oh well. Just keeps me from being relegated next season.

Well whatdya know. I guess the commish doesn't have any mechanism for stopping members of the same league (or branch) from being in the same ML group. Good luck to you! (I will have you know that I've never made it to a ML final, so you're looking good there, despite regular season matchup history.)

Oh, nice.

I've actually been doing really well in the standings for the Adaptations ML, but that's more by default than anything (I think I've had 2 F wins and another opp post a 0). Still plenty of time to blow that though. Which may be good, because all of the championship rounds I've peeked at I would have been demolished in as well.

Anyone else not read the Smith's note on the Crossword Clues ODS? They claimed a mea culpa in the recap, but mea culpa, as well. Coulda-shoulda had a pretty solid 409 (top 10-20%) if I'd given both answers.
