Rodgers is 4 years older than Cousins, and Cousins has never missed a start due to injury before last year. Not saying he might not fall off now, but his history suggests he is a safe bet.

No, he didn't. I just looked at his official injury report. Other than the Achilles, he missed one other game due to injury, and that was in college.

You are right that it was the 2nd to last game of the 2021 season. I seem to recall it because Sean Mannion started and I think it was a Sunday night game.

Sp catching Covid is a brain injury? People critized him for not getting the vaccine like that prevented getting it. I have had the vaccine and caught it twice.

I was wondering the same thing. I think they are going off this:

edit: Thinking about it, this is that stat that probably explains why Justin Fields has generated no interest. Fans may have complained about the lack of open targets, but the film is saying they were open, the team lacked a quarterback that could throw to them.

To piggieback off of this, here's a bit more from Athletic's Scoop City newsletter this morning:

Quote:
Per Sharp Football Analysis: Across Mooney's career with the Bears, nearly 40 percent of deep targets thrown his way were inaccurate. During this time, the Falcons' Kirk Cousins led the NFL in deep target accuracy (20-plus yards downfield). We could see a breakout season here.

interesting angles on Mooney... still not sure there was a $12m/y bidder out there who had to be beaten, but i like that there's a theory of the case

They had to out bid the Cheifs who had him as their top WR target. Most of the rumors had their deal done.

This is the silly minutiae I love in contract negotiations so long as I don't have to read or sign those contracts.

Quote:
The Jaguars haven’t been in a rush to get their deal done with Ridley, as signing him before 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday would mean their second-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft would transfer to the Atlanta Falcons as part of the 2022 trade that sent the receiver to Jacksonville. It’ll be a third-rounder going to Atlanta — regardless if Ridley re-signs with the Jaguars or leaves to join another team — if he’s still unsigned as of Wednesday afternoon.

I promise you every Falcon's fan knew. Most didn't know there was a time-clock on that contingency till a couple of months ago, but then everyone pretty much figured they purposely holding off the signing until the time-clock was up.

Jimmy G shows how much of life is just being in the right place at the right time.

He was Brady's backup. And backing up the most successful QB in league history rubs off on your reputation. There's no reason that Brady's backup has to be any better than, say, Matt Ryan's backup. But it just feels like he *should* be.

Then he went into the Shanahan system. Which, whatever else it is, makes QBs look as good as they possibly can.

It really took us this long to realize that he's handsome Teddy Bridgewater.

So, apparently Aaron Rodgers is a Sandy Hook conspiracy guy? That conspiracy theory is really reserved for the dregs of humanity.

Can't wait until it comes out he's a 9/11 truther. That will be a great look for a Jets starting QB.

He's got a definite Rand Paul vibe to him - thinks he proves how smart he is by being contrarian, but only succeeds in making himself look like an idiot most of the time.

The Broncos are choosing to take $53 million of the Russ cap hit this year to reduce the hit for next year. That hit will still be $32 million.

Bad ownership + bad GMs = bad teams. Chicago sports organizations have had too much of that combo for decades with very few exceptions. The fans really deserve better.

He can spend up to the cap. The Bears have never prevented that. He's just very conservative in free agency and a pretty bad GM.

So apparently Kirk Cousins inadvertently admitted that the Falcons staff tampered him or something. More NFL BS rules.

He said he called the head trainer on Tuesday, which isn't allowed during the tampering period. I don't know how much the fact he called will weigh in on whether there will be sanctions or not. I mean clearly there was more contact than that before the tampering period even began. All the teams have back door ways of negotiating pre-tampering period. It just here he admitted to contact after the agreement was reached but before he was allowed to directly talk to anyone on the team.

I agree about the GM part, but do you have knowledge that the McCaskeys have told him that? My suspicion is the opposite: he's probably been told NOT to spend it all.

Seahawks trade for Sam Howell in a pick swap (3rd and 5th for a 4th and 6th). I think that was a smart move.

They needed a starting C. He's better than Patrick and a starter vs Bates. It's not splashy, but it fills a need.

Still no WRs or edge rushers though, so...yeah.
