- Saturday Night draws a 0.31. - We get news Steven Regal is out a month with a minor staph infection. The news sucks because he was going to have a big match at Halloween Havoc, but it's not the end of the world as he can be replaced within the structure of the match. |

Sources inside WCW say two stars on the way out Names are sketchy at this point, but there are reports that by the end of this month at least one WCW wrestler will be leaving the company, but sources indicate a second worker could also be leaving as well. We won't speculate at this juncture but from reports the one wrestler for sure going is said to be tired of how he has been booked and feels like now is the time to leave as his contract will be expiring. The other name is rumored to be working on a buy out of his deal but it is still very questionable it'll be granted. |

WCW Monday Nitro
Monday, Week 2, October 1998 Bryce Jordan Center (Tri City) 15000 People -- Sellout Nitro opens up with Chris Jericho coming out to the ring. Obviously this wasn't planned as the ring is already occupied by Michael Buffer getting ready to announce the first match. Jericho grabs his mic and says he is out here to make a challenge for Halloween Havoc to go one on one with Ric Flair. He says that Flair is a snake in the grass who is using WCW to just get more money and once Halloween Havoc is over he will be on the first plane to New York. Jericho says Flair might be gone, but he isn't gone yet, and he will head to New York not in a stretch limo, but on a stretcher! (B+) Bill Goldberg defeated Scott Norton in 11:58 by pinfall with The Spear (C) Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner defeated Meng and Mortis in 13:38 when Kevin Nash defeated Meng by pinfall with a Jacknife Power Bomb (C+) Backstage Ric Flair looks ashen over what Jericho says. He then bumps into DDP who just asks him one thing; is it true? When Flair doesn't respond DDP walks away in disgust (B+) Goldberg is backstage with Mean Gene. He says that the Giant has for some reason decided to turn his back on the fans and become a bully. Goldberg says he doesn't like bullies and he promises that as far as he is concerned The Giant is next! (A) Chris Benoit defeated Rick Steiner in 15:58 by pinfall with a Dragon Suplex (C+) Steve Corino defeated Syxx in 9:56 when Syxx was disqualified when Randy Savage ran in and attacked Steve Corino (C-) The Giant is in the back where he says he promised no more nice guy, and that's what he is doing now. He says Goldberg needs to mind his own business and he won't have to feel his wrath (B) Ric Flair comes out to a strong chorus of boos. He says Jericho is full of it, and Flair bleeds WCW and if beating Jericho at Halloween Havoc is what it takes to shut him up, then that is what he will do (B+) Raven comes out to the ring to announce that at Halloween Havoc it'll be Raven vs Sting in a Chamber of Horrors match. The Horrors match is simple; a steel cell will surround the ring, filled with tables, ladders, chairs and barbed wire. The only way to win is to make your opponent not answer a ten count. He promises it'll be the last we see of Sting! (A) The Giant defeated Diamond Dallas Page in 11:51 by pinfall while using the ropes for leverage. The Giant makes defence number 4 of his WCW United States Heavyweight title (A) After the match The Giant picks up DDP and goes for another Choke Slam when the crowd erupts. The Giant sensing something is wrong turns around only to eat a vicious Spear from Goldberg. Goldberg then takes a mic and challenges The Giant for a match at Halloween Havoc! (A) Show Rating: B+ |

- Nitro does a huge 10.77 rating. Helps that the Giant and DDP had an A momentum and the other advanced book matches were good as well. We're riding hot at least for now. - Raw was a pedestrian show that saw just one match crack a B rating, and that was the Main Event no contest between Owen Hart and Ahmed Johnson. Everything else in the D's. |

Why wouldn't he want to resign? It seems to me you've booked him more than fairly all things considered.

I've warned him a few times, plus fined him. He turned into a backstage nuisance and then it became a big problem. Hilariously, still no problems from Hall or Raven. |

On the plus side Flair isn't really a huge deal for you at the moment as you have elevated the proper people up the card. Seems you have done exactly as WcW should have done in real life(albeit slightly early IMO). If nothing else Flair can go on and help build up some people in WWF. They could hugely benefit from working with him and in turn he could help turn some of them into people you could benefit from later.

Yeah. WWF is a mess right now so I am not even too upset he's going there. They still don't even have TV in the US, which I do not understand at all. Hopefully they can sign him and he can get them relevantish again. |

- Saturday Night does a .30. Big whoop. - ECW holds Guilty as Charged to the tune of a .38 buy. It's main event saw Brian Adams d. Paul Roma to retain the ECW Title (C) while the best match was RVD & Taz d. the Dudleys to win the ECW Tag Team Titles (B-) - We cancel our contract with ESPN for Thunder. 5.5 hours of TV a week is too much, and the show that suffers the most is Thunder, and it's starting to hurt our importance in certain areas. I will bring back a second show as part of a storyline but out of character it's just burning me out with a lack of original ideas. |

WCW ends Thunder effective immediately In a move that stunned the wrestling world, WCW has announced the end of WCW Thunder as of Sunday citing a lack of creative direction and burnout. The rumor backstage within WCW is that there are not enough top guys for Thunder to be effective, but by SuperBrawl a new show will be in place. At least that is the plan as of now. More on this as it develops. |

WCW Monday Nitro
Monday, Week 3, October 1998 MCI Center (Mid Atlantic) 15000 People -- Sellout Nitro opens up with Eric Bischoff announcing that at World War 3 there will be the customary battle royal to determine a #1 contender for the WCW World Title. Bischoff says that he knows Scott Hall is one guy who will want in, but since he lost to the Horsemen he is supposed to lose any shots at a title, but that said he knows this is a loophole that if Hall wins the WW3 Battle Royal, he will earn his title shot. Bischoff says because of that he is making Hall earn it by putting him in a 4 corner match at Havoc with Booker T, Yokozuna and Meng, and if Hall wins, he will get in to the Battle Royal! (B) A video airs hyping Goldberg (A*) Raven defeated Meng in 12:06 by pinfall with a Piledriver (C+) Ric Flair comes out and says Jericho is an asshole and an idiot and WCW fans might turn on him but they're all blind if they think Jericho is any better to lead them (B+) Sting defeated Yokozuna in 10:46 by submission with a Scorpion Deathlock (B+) Show Rating: B |

Brian Adams in the Main Event though it was an non title match. - All our suspended workers are back. - We cancel the next two Saturday Nights just because I really want to book Halloween Havoc and these shows are just not worth it. WCW Superstar Sting Arrested! WCW wrestler Sting worked Nitro in California on Monday, and when returning home to his LA house he was greeted by a rude welcoming party - The LAPD.
